Another game of How High will it GO!!!!
|
I always seem not understand what's going on. This is your car I assume?
|
I could only wish. I'sent this the combo everyone is looking for? Seems to have all the right equipment to me.
|
Sometimes i see posts about eBay scams and i thought this was one. Guess I was way wrong.
|
i'll guess 7500 is what she'll end up at. it's a good color and the "right " combo to bring money as is sits. throw in the 8 lugs and it's a valuable car.
i'd love to have it but i'm in the process of trying to move some stuff, i don't need more. mike |
I wouldn't be surprised if this one gets bid way up over $10k and still does not meet reserve! :(
|
I'm going to say $8,300
|
I forgot to put in my guess. 12,500 reserve not met.
|
Thanks for the link. I'm gonna take a shot at it. I'm not really up on the big car $'s so what do you guys think it's really worth? All help appreciated.
Thanks, Mark O. |
I like the seller's sense of humor!
this car is a best-of-breed, and the options (or lack of them) tells me thing was several cans of whoop-@$$ when it was in top-tune. man, the one-year/one-model/special color door panels (if perfect) on that car are probably worth a couple grand alone (to my knowledge, nobody is doing that dark blue and the MSM's of the world don't do Cat/2+2 door panels right)... I say it's a good deal for the buyer at $5000...a good deal for the seller at $15k. ...gonna say $10,001. |
I agree with Mike on the price, $7500. Or maybe I think that is what it is worth in the condition that it is in. There are a few pieces on that car that are very expensive to restore, not even considering a proper paint job. It may bring more on Ebay. Just wish it had the HO engine.
|
He mentions a rear window weatherstrip leak...chances are that actually means the window channel is rusted out. Whoever buys the car should deal with that ASAP. Nice looking car, too bad about the poor paint job.
|
Thanks. It's close to $7000 already and has a ways to go but I'll keep watching.
|
Exterior color is Fontain Blue
Interior is Blue Charcoal. Sure glad it is not Blue Mist Slate. Other wise it would make a very nice twin to my convertible Patrick |
Ohhhh, I did not pay attention cause I cannot afford it anyway but dark blue intieror? That would be a sweet car. I have never seen a 2+2 that color to begin with but with that color combo that makes me more jealous. I've also never seen that type of air breather before. Anyone have some winning lottery numbers for me? There are 3 65's I would buy immediatly if I had the money. The 2+2 the green Ventura and the 65 Cat that was made into a convertible Grand Prix. Now that would be a nice looking garage.
|
The dual snorkel air cleaner came on the non HO tripower 421's
Hitman That is the color of my interior. My paint is the Blue Mist Slate metalic. A shade more in Silver than the Fontain Blue. My convertible top is black. I agree very very nice color combonation. That is why it would look so nice to my vert. Patrick |
65WJ, you've convinced me...sounds like you're convincing yourself...the DarkSide is calling...again!
|
Patrick,
If you like that interior color, Harry Sameul is the only person who has the correct NOS interior for your car. What was your's originally? -r- |
Tri-power, 4-speed and a clean body. Chances are we wouldn't have liked the paint quality anyway and would have it redone so I'm not holding that against it very much. I'm saying $11,800 for the final price. Actually anywhere in the 11's but I don't think it will hit the 12's.
|
If that was a car I had been looking for I'd be happy to pay 8-10 for it in that condition from the looks of it. Does not look like a hard project.
It is another example of interesting option combinations. Fender skirts but no PS/PB. 4 Spd 421 with no gauges. Nutty. Mindset-you don't care what is going on under the hood as long as you look cool when you rage by. I wonder what rear is in it? 4.55 open? I know it would be a delightful handfull when refreshed. |
4.55 open would be one helluva one tire frier. I know what you mean, a 3.55 open probably.
|
That car is the twin to my 2+2 except for the tri-power. Same color, same interior, same tranny. Of course mine is currently the uglier of the two twins, but I am slowly trying to correct that. I could buy it for my wife. Then we would match. That would be romantic. Right???
|
Something tells me she would'nt see it that way. At least mine would'nt. I wonder why.

64catdroptop
I talked to Harry today. He is sending me samples with the price list. Looks like the engine is going to wait.(another week or 2) Harry is retiring first of the year. Patrick |

Actually, mine would agree to a convertible with air. Maybe once this one is done I can accommodate her with that. :D
|
$30k will get the EBAY car. I'm sticking the 4 speed in the 66 GP if it doesn't sell at Norwalk. Then a set of 17 inch Hurst rims. Then tubular a arms and coil over shocks. Then multiport fuel injection. And I'll still have $10k left over.
|
30K? Somebody's on crack.
|
Hey, 12.8 was 300 more than I said. Keith, do you know for a fact the 30k is the number. If so, then that is a little ridiculous. It is a nice car and would make a nice car but restored it would'nt bring 30k.
|
I asked if he planned to relist, aand what it would take if bought now. I told him $15k was about what it would be worth, since it needs paint. But for $30k, i would not buy, I"d look for something like the 72 TA that sold for $35k last week. OR maybe one of the many 1st gen Firebird converts availabe for $20k done, OR maybe a firehawk convert for $20k, or a restored GP for $20-$25k....POint is you can get a lot more for that money.
I"d like to go after the car, since it's close, but I think it would end up needing about $15k to paint and fix whatever. |
Thats too bad. Someone could make that a real nice car but because he wants to make a kings ransom off of it, it will probably sit for a while longer, cause that much more damage and then become more of a chore to fix. I really hate that, but it is his car and he has the right to do whatever he wants. I bet he did'nt give more than 5K for it when he bought it.

i stick by my original number. i think you'll find more work than you think in that car once it's home and apart. as hitman said it's his car. mike |
Mike,
Understatement of the year!! I can't tell you how many times that happened to me where it looks good until you get into it and then I wonder what the heck did I get into? -r- |
ron that's exactly why i'll drag a car out of a salvage yard and build it instead of buying one done. i'm a lot less dissapointed when i find the ISSUES.

Mike,
e.g..... the drop-top I bought!!! (she's untouched!) I'll have it at it's first car show tomorrow. Put it on the trailer. It still needs tires and exhaust, and tags, and, and, and..... -r- |

i told you i can hook you up with a set of tires and a pair of mufflers and the guru to bend the head pipes so you can bring it to norwalk. someone's gonna wish he'd brought his car next weekend! btw, that car's great compared to some of the stuff i put back together. i build solid drivers [when they're done!] i can't afford to take them to the level you do. my white g/p's one of the best pontiac's i've bought in the last 20 years. i like my cars like i like my women, just a little rough around the edges. if they get too polished they aren't nearly as much fun! mike |
