" Warning for some language..."

Looks like you northern guys need to show them how it's done! ;)

lol

language ohh yesssss

Johnny406 01-10-2008 12:49 AM

Now that's chinking the ego...

PONTIAC DUDE 01-10-2008 11:24 AM

Nitrous DR stock suspension CARS have had a hard 2/3 years or so when tracks allowed unlimited turbos with all kinds of boost retards, etc. Finally getting a grip on the timing of nitrous without burning sh*t up. Ya gotta make 1700hp "minimum" to be competitive anymore. and with DR's and stock suspension.

Now if ya go on the boards, the turbo guys are whining. The 1/8th mile is just an excuse for them.

BIG, BIG match race Sunday at Bradenton.
Old Gandy racer with a First Gen SBC Camaro has been talking trash about the crew down here and finally hit the fan after 6 years. He's finally in the 8's and talking trash. LOL. Gonna be interesting knowing all of them.

mbr 01-10-2008 11:57 PM

saw that video yesterday. cant wait to see the other two parts. none of the turbo guys are whining. the only one's whining are the one's that cant tune a car. and yes 1/8 mi racing does tighten up the turbos and the nos cars. i hope like hell im ready for the 15k race in october or if the north/south 30k race maybe happens in virginia this summer. those boys better be careful because there is a yankee brigade getting ready to come down there a blow them away. real men race 1/4 mi not that redneck 1/8 sissy sh-t!!u 1/8 mi guys are afraid of 190-210mph? will take two twins over four stages anyday!!!!!!!

Ive been to Bradenton both during a test and tune as well as a race. I am still trying to figure out why they don't show ET's and MPH during the test and tune runs.

David Holmberg 01-11-2008 12:28 AM

Chief, they hide the numbers so the gamblers can test n tune without giving away too much information.

n20ta2 01-11-2008 10:05 AM

yup,No one knew what my car ran and it made good money until I decided to run a 1320 club night here in bradenton and they posted the time even though I had a big NT on the back window.News spread fast and low and behold no match racing the following runday sunday for me.

PONTIAC DUDE 01-11-2008 01:20 PM

Runday Sunday this Sunday.

Who's going?

Hope to be there. Need to get dialed in for the Tomato nats in Immockalee next weekend. Then the Street nats at Bradenton the following weekend. Looks like a full card for this month. LOL.

Just Got the pistons and balancing done. Seeing as the Sealed Power 400 .030 forged pistons have been back ordered since September. And still not available. :( :( Had to go another way, but better. It's all ready to do. Will be assembling next week. Should be ready by Friday.

70 lucerne lemans 01-11-2008 03:10 PM

Ken,what are you going to run at the street nats? The 6.50 index?

Mo 01-11-2008 04:35 PM

Seems like Lynch should just bolt on a set of DRs and see what he can do. With the quicker speed/ET they are going they will soon have to deal with the same NHRA rules that the "Quick 8" cars did. What are the rules for a 7.49 or quicker chasis again?

Its ok, probably will not be able to drive it for a while, unless spring comes early. Maybe I just set the carb rich, let it idle and suck in some good 70's fumes.

PHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHTTTTTTTT, O yea man this is good stuff

mbr 01-11-2008 08:24 PM

mo, in regards to the 7.49 and quicker: it is the tracks decision on what the exact specs will be. most of us dr and 10.5 guys dont follow nhra rules. most thing that the nhra is a joke and their rules are a joke. we go by the sfi spec. most will 25.2 spec their cage and then recert it 25.5 for the weight. the 25.2 spec is good for 3200lb and the 25.5 spec is good for 3500lb. now the new problem is weight of twin turbos. most of us will be over the 3500 spec which is only good up to 7.49. faster than that u need a 25.2 spec which is 3200lb. sfi is currently working on a new spec for 3500lb to go faster than 7.49. but the bottom line is that it is up to the track to say what is safe and unsafe. both the joke nhra and sfi are just guidelines.
btw. i believe lynch and other 10.5 heavy hitters wont put the dr's on. too much is affected chassis wise
the second part of the pirez video comes out tonight also!

Ken,I might be interested in that series,my car runs pretty consistent 6.50s now.I looked at the rules, they say 28-10.5 radial slick or max 315 radial, would they accept a 30-9 radial slick? My car has working lights and signals but no interior, think they would let it in?

I don't see a problem as you are smaller then what they require. But best to call Troy the owner.

David Holmberg 01-12-2008 02:46 PM

Not having a transbrake hurts me in that class.

70 lucerne lemans 01-12-2008 04:34 PM

What are these guys 60' times in the 6.50 index?I'm not sure I would pick up much with a transbrake,I'm pulling consistent 1.39-1.40 60'.

PONTIAC DUDE 01-12-2008 04:39 PM

It's not the 60 ft'er............ it's the reaction time with a .400 tree

I had a bracket tree transbrake at VMP for the shooutout. Went to a .400 transbrake in my glide and went from .6's to .460's.

Cars finally loaded up for tomorrow. Starting to rain here but should be gone by late tonight.

mbr 01-12-2008 04:43 PM

p-dude, gonna get back into the 8's?

David Holmberg 01-12-2008 05:44 PM

Mark, like Ken said its just the tree, I know Randy is normally in the .400's and teens and always runs 6.5x's.

I've only tried a .400 pro tree twice and had .700 lights... I could probably get better but never close enough to go more than the occasional round.

lugnutt 01-12-2008 07:34 PM

Pretty classy crew! That language with a kid running around!

mbr 01-12-2008 10:11 PM

so what, he swears when there are kids around. there are worse people out there. u want me to start giving examples. as troy said today"dont tell me how to raise my kids"!he talks the talk and walks the walk. most think that it was hilarious.

70 lucerne lemans 01-12-2008 11:43 PM

Now I got it,I didnt catch the pro tree in the rules,I'd be toast for sure!

Ken,I wouldnt hold your breath on the rain,I think it's going to hang around tomorrow.

David Holmberg 01-13-2008 01:45 AM

I'm thinking rain as well, I think I'll sleep in and watch football...

gtofreek 01-13-2008 01:43 PM

PONTIAC DUDE 01-13-2008 09:24 PM

Great day at the track. Weather in the mid 70's.
First time out in over a year with the T/A.
535ci.in. Gasket matched 295cfm 89cc E-heads, 93 octane fuel. Dude custom Comp Cam hydraulic roller.
First pass out of the trailer.
1.482@3800
[email protected]
timing at 36
shift at 6200, thru the traps at 6400 on the limiter.

2nd pass: moved the limiter up to 7000.
1.492@4200
[email protected]
timing at 38
shift at 6200 thru th traps at 6600 no limiter bounce.

3rd pass:
1.457@4400
[email protected]
timing at 38
shift at 6200 thru the traps at 6700

ET is down. MPH is OK I think it's the head flow (basic heads) or the tight nitrous converter on the shift.

But the class down here is a 6.50 street car class on the index. Car last pass was a 6.55............ in the 1/8th.

Had an open spacer. Gonna try a Wilson 4 hole radius 1" spacer. Hope it puts me right on the number. Also has a 4:10 gear. A 4:33 would put the car on or under the number in the eight. But tap it out in the 1/4. Plus that Poweglide shift drops below 5000 and what a woofer picking back up the rpm on my playback tach. Hangs at 5000 for a day or two before it picks up rpm. tight comverter? I know a T-400 would be worth a tenth or ? but already have this and a lot invested. This is the same basic 625hp 505 crate combo I offer.

After the 2 heads up deals in the next 2 weeks then gonna pull the heads and flow to 325/330 without offset stuff. All the same valvetrain parts.

Then should have the CV-1 heads to run after that. Should be here in a week or two. Looks like a mid 9 second 93 octane pump gas hyd roller combo. Then have to figure out how to slow it down. Bwahahahahahahaha.
Long winded enough, but throwing out info if it helps anyone. LOL.

David Holmberg 01-13-2008 09:39 PM

Congrats Ken, sounds like it's off to a great start.

PONTIAC DUDE 01-13-2008 09:48 PM

Finally.............after 2 years of just working & sitting out. LOL. Gonna head to the Tomato Nats friday. They up'ed the purse for 6.50 class :D
$2600.00 plus qualifying bonuses.
Now........ Just gotta find the track.

Brandi Kay 01-13-2008 09:49 PM

at least someone had a good weekend!

mbr 01-13-2008 09:50 PM

lugnut: i know its your opinion. first amendment right. its personally my favorite. just meant that there is alot worse out there. believe me, others have been ragging on him for the same statement. just bringing his comment over here. i personally dont agree with it also but its his family.

p-dude: are u going to run the october events in d/r this year?

LiL Jack 01-13-2008 10:01 PM

congrats dude!

David Holmberg 01-13-2008 10:12 PM

Immokalee's not hard to find, but you'll need to go the longer way.

If you take the direct route from Ft Myers off 75 (82) the road will beat your trailer to death.
However, if you take the exit right after the bridge going into Ft Myers, (80) go east to Labelle then south (29) to Immokalee the road is MUCH better. There is a corner store where you turn in Labelle that you can get fuel, drinks and ice...

Are you staying at the track all weekend? I know Randy's bringing the camper...

70 lucerne lemans 01-14-2008 09:21 AM

Not bad Dude, right off the trailer! It was really humid yesterday too, glad the weather held off for you.Wish I had gone but it looked too iffy to drive two hours.

lugnutt 01-14-2008 10:03 AM

Ken, thats pretty cool. They just started a class here called 9" nightmares. It is the same thing 6.50 index with mufflers, true 9" slick or 275 drag radial. Heads up tree, should be a real interesting class. I believe its going to be a true "racers" race, not who has the most $$$$. Its kinda like how 10.5 started!

lugnutt 01-14-2008 10:03 AM

Oh, by the way. What is a ham and egger?

n20ta2 01-14-2008 10:57 AM

anyone see my old orange 95 t/a run at bradenton yesterday? The new owner was out there for the first time with it and he called me after to let me know he had gone.I guess he was surprised at the wheels pulling 4ft with 325 drag radials!

From the "slang site"

Ham and egger: No one special. Just a regular person.
Example: Do you know who I am? I'm no ham and egger that you can just push around.

Yea pretty neat class. Basically like NHRA Super Gas and Super Street, but no electronics and stock suspension with a 28 X10" slick or DR tire.
Big in ORSCA out of Georgia down here too. With the price to BE COMPETITIVE heads up anymore, looks like a wave of the future. I'm not the type to show up or go to hang out. Never was. I can do that with a BBQ in my yard. Bwahahahahaha.

Cars right there now.
6.55 last pass. Gonna switch out the open spacer for a Wilson 4 hole taper one and should put me right on the money. N/A. :D
Red lit last pass leaving when the yellow lit, but think the lights were fubar. How can ya redlight on a 4, 0 tree and a 1.47 60 ft'er?

Not bad for a hydraulic roller, basic out of the box E-heads and 93 octane pump gas. 10.75-1 compression, 3500lb race weight. Oh and a PG.

Won't be going to Orlando after the F^&)*^0 they gave the racers last year. Carl's got the last of my money. ;)
More about principal then racin.

Gonna see what the deal is before Orlando with the $15,000 to win DR deal at Bradenton. Gonna see if maybe they want to add a 6.50 class.

mbr 01-14-2008 10:13 PM

they were ready to lynch his ass. plus running 2:30 in the morning on dew is always fun also. the 15k race is going to rock! the best of the best will be there for sure. at least u will only have a hour or so driving compared to 20hrs. just wish there was a little more cash on the lower side of the bracket.

PONTIAC DUDE 01-16-2008 08:00 AM

Return smack talk from the boys at Baton Rouge. Bwahahahahaha.

And the Fla boys call them the Village people. Bwahahahahaha.
