Family Doubled In Size
 

My wife and I welcomed our first and second sons into the world a week ago. (been too darn busy to post sooner).

Albert weighed in at 6lb 13oz and was 19.5" and his baby brother Pierce, who was born 10 minutes later, weighed in at 7lb 5oz and was 21" long. My wife is doing well despite carrying two babies to term and delivering them the old fashioned way. The boys are healthy and are doing well. The hate being separated though.

Twins are a trip. I have two identical grandsons. They are 5 still cant tell them apart except by their mannerisms. Congrats.

You have no clue what you're in for unless you've raised twins. Doing that now [ mine turned 7 today] and I've earned the mental instability medal for this experience!

Thanks everyone or the love and support! Don't know if they're identical or fraternal just yet. Every test that they've done could be either. I'm sure we'll do a DNA test eventually. We just took their bracelets off. I think we can tell them apart enough to keep them straight. I guess that would make them fraternal.

Magic marker on a foot works well Trust me.

We couldn't tell our boys apart for a long time. The first 3 months Adam had a sharpie mark on his foot!

I was sitting here quietly reading the post and thinking the same thing. Our boy/girl twins were six times the work of our three older girls spaced two years apart. Everything from teething at the same time to the terrible two's at the same time - it was great, but work. Oh, and don't forget buying two cars at the same time when they are old enough to drive.

Mark and Kimberly turned 22 in June, and I'm not sure, but I think we're just about out of the woods and can take a deep breathe and maybe relax a little.;)

It was work, but I wouldn't trade the memories for anything in the world.

I once met a set of twins that were friends with one of my kids. When we were introduced, I looked for ways to tell them apart, and noticed a slight difference in their freckle pattern. I always called them by their correct names after that, and they both responded warmly to the extra effort I made, especially the younger of the two. Twins come with unique challenges and rewards.

Cool deal! I'm a fraternal twin as well, my brother and I are 4 minutes apart. He's 6'3" and I'm 5'10" :-/ lol I don't have any other siblings, I'm pretty-sure I know why!!:eek:

Now might be a good time to plead your case to the wife that it might be a good idea to purchase a second Pontiac for the benefit of the twins!

I should have mentioned it in the first post, but that picture is priceless.

Our twins learned that they got better service from mom if they staggered their shifts. It was like clockwork how mom would just get done with one and the other just knew that it was now their turn.

The boys are doing great and settling into life pretty well. They're pretty happy babies. The wife and I aren't getting much sleep, but it's all worth it.
