Thanks....tyrol blue, white top and supposed to be 219/blue interior but I'm going parchment! |
Your car is coming along nicely. I wish mine was closer than it is. I went to Moultrie today and picked up my exhaust system. It was the biggest show I have ever seen there. I never did get to see it all. There were some beautiful cars and a lot of them. Someone said there were over 4,000 this time. It took me over 6 hours just to walk the vendor area.

That engine looks great. Is it a big block?

Hi Paul,
Hope all is well with you and yours. Coming along really nice. One question for you. I see in one of the photos you provided that there is a hose going from the passenger side valve cover around back, is this "Tee'd" into the PCV valve or to a vacuum pump or a header pipe ? what gives ? am curious. Love the color combination (interior, exterior / top) of the car too. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Paul. Tim john--- |

Everything is good here on the home front and thanks for asking! I hope the same for you all. Hose....PCV in the valve cover and the other end to the intake. This how I received it from P-Dude. Hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving!!!! |

Can't beat a '67 drop top :D
|
Well boys and girls I'm getting tried of waiting and throwing money at this project. I'm really thinking about stopping the project and selling the car as is or at least get it running. I know this sounds crazy but I'm ready to ride in something now!!!! To top it all off I have CRAZY money in this car that I will never recover by selling!!
Somebody please talk me out of the above!! LOL |
How close are you? If you buy something else will you end up doing the same thing to it? I drove mine to the gas station and back home the day after I got it. I have been working on it since then. It has been almost 4 years now and I will be lucky if I get it done by this time next year. But, it will be done and I can say I did a lot of it.
Think long and hard about it 'cause once it's gone you won't get it back! |

Hopefully you're right about being encouraged once it's running. It's suppossed to be running by the end of next week. However, I have heard this before!!!! |
Yep, get it running and you'll change your mind. Either that or a bunch of us will paying you a visit to change your mind. ;) LOL
BTW... there's only one thing better than a 67 droptop. And that's a 66 droptop. ;) :D |
Hang in there Paul, it's well worth the wait!

Update......
Not much has changed!!! However, I do plan on picking the car up the week of Thanksgiving. It will be painted but I will be finishing the car, such as.....interior, installing all the bright work, bumpers and glass. Just want to get the car home....even if I don't work on it...it's home!!!!
|
She's Finally Painted!!!
Going over today to see the paint job and start bringing some of the left over parts home! Hopefully in the next week or two I'll bring the car home. As stated above once home the interior and glass still needs to be installed. I'll try to snap a few pictures and post for your enjoyment later today!! LOL

Looking Good! I can't wait to see mine in paint!
|
Very nice Paul! Looks like it's about at the same point as mine was last January.
|
I painted my hood scoop black. It really brings out the color of the hood. You've come a long way, keep going. At least bolt in a seat(1) and drive it around the block. When I got my motor in it put rad support and drove it down the block, NO fenders or hood. Who needs body panels??? That p-dude slug needs to be beat on, its not for the faint hearted.
Q: Looks like you have tall valave covers, how close is the brk booster to the vc. Mine ti close with short covers. |
Quote:
The original size booster did hit the valve cover...switched it to a smaller diameter. |

It's been a long time getting this far and I must say seeing some paint on the car sure relieves some of the pain! LOL |
Looks great! At some point you may want to put a coat of black paint over the front of your radiator & trans cooler so they don't show through the grills. Keep plugging away. They may never be totally "done", but they do get to the point where you can have a lot of fun with them!

Wondering if you did any mods to the chassis to stiffen things up? The convertible bodies flex quite a bit, I notice it on mine when I get on it, so I can only imagine what yours will feel like... |
