What non-Pontiac vehicles do you own? I'll post some of my dad's and my projects. For fun cars besides my '67 GTO I have an '88 Ferrari 328 GTS and a modded 400hp '07 BMW 335i coupe that runs in the 12's. Plus I have a few other boring work/daily drivers. 1993 Chevy 1 ton EX cab 4X4 with the 6.5 Turbo diesel by Detroit Diesel engine, 4L80E transmission. I specifically looked for a diesel powered truck so I didn't have a chevy engine in it.
1988 IH 1600 ex U Haul truck now with about 8 feet removed from the chassis I'm installing a used Vulcan wrecker body on the shortened chassis. 5 speed with air ride suspension 7.3 IH NA diesel engine. I bought just the cab and chassis from U haul, couldn't beat the price, it had a new shortblock installed in it less than 10,000 miles before I bought it. 4 wheel disc brakes and air ride it seems the ideal chassis for a wrecker. Mostly because Pontiac didn't make a truck and I need something for towing and a 4x4 for snow removal, everything else I own is Pontiac as far as cars. |

I just sold the 31 Buick this past summer and built the 28 Ford speedster 5 years ago. A fun car for driving in the summer and fall.

I'm not sure if this was what you're getting at but... Its a 1998 Grand Caravan with a whopping 180hp worth of engine. lol I guess at least it gets me where I need to go.

Use an "old car" as my daily driver. Bought it from my cousin who was the original owner in 1989. It is a 1974 Olds Cutlass Supreme, with AC, buckets,tw,pw, console. I had bought it so I could finish restoring my Tempest wagon (that was also a daily driver up until that point). The car "grew"on me. The Olds 350 is indestructible-(now has 480,000 miles without rebuilding the engine) (did trans once) rearend twice. It still runs well too. And it rides like you are in a living room, as well as having all the "extras" I would ever care for. I know these arent desirable like the 64-72 models are, but they handle better, and I dont plan on selling it so it doesnt matter.:) Car still looks good (on second paint job)-doesnt sit still long enough to rust-but thinking of getting it repainted again soon to keep it fresh. Also, just driving this car when I got it back in 89', caused me to set up my 66 Pontiac for handling as well to match. (Actually used a steering box and front sway bar out of a 76 Grand Prix to match the "feel" of the Olds) I need to get me some more Pontiacs though. I have 3 engines (a 66 389, a 67 400, a 73 455 and a 77 400 (557) block that I have acquired over the years with no place to put them. Thing of sticking the 455 I presently have in my 66 in a 76 Ventura that my dad no longer drives (my mom passed away in Sept after a 13 year battle with cancer-he is driving her old 93 Buick now. I am getting CVMS to build the 455 I had laying around into a real nice street engine for the wagon.:)

We drive trucks here in the winter. Wife drives a Tahoe and I a Chevy 2500HD 4x4 with a western plow and salt spreader. But here are our summer toys that are non Pontiacs

My Dad was selling Pontiacs from 1963 - 1996. Always my first love.
But I pitted for my wife's older brother when he campaigned a '68 Camaro, and my wife's first car was a '71 Camaro. So she wanted another Camaro... Champ, my favorite car you have there is that 49' Cadillac Limo. :)Always liked the clean , elegant styling of the 30's and 40's Caddys. The 49' was the best of the breed with its modern OHV V8, in a time when no other maker but Olds had such a thing. Nice car.

Big Nate...Love the '42 COE. Some other nice rides on here as well. My truck - a 1990 454SS Pickup that I bought with 3400 miles on it in 1991. Completely stock then. Pretty much every nut and bolt has been removed at one time or another. It has been thru several iterations, and probably wil have more changes in the future. Currently it has a 461ci BBC (original block to the truck - but no other internals are original) with a T56 six Speed, and 4.56 gears/Eaton posi in the original 14 bolt rear end housing. The motor was freshened/dynoed by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering in 2001. They basically did the head porting and selected a Hydraulic Roller cam to their specs. It makes 505 peak HP and 535 peak TQ. On a Dynojet chassis dyno it makes 398 whp. It is a blast to drive, runs mid 12s and gets 17mpg on the highway (gotta love .50 OD). It is way more fun than my GTO. I want to boost it, but the BBC runs so good the way it is, I hate to mess it up. Future plans are to build a 454ci LSx based motor with twins on it, with a tranzilla or LSx T56. Lighter weight and more power! Then I'll put the BBC/T56 in maybe a '67 Chevelle or Nova, or even a '55-58 pickup. My whole intent while building it was kinda walk softly/carry big stick. It is mostly original paint, and the interior is as delivered for the most part. It also has a healthy sound system in it, but mostly hidden. It has done 2 HR Power Tours, and will probably do another one soon. It was built with the best components that I could afford and is very reliable. I'll have this truck forever. The Green Weanie Bronco. 96 last year. I love this thing... crank windows, manual tranny, locking hubs, rubber floor mat, rear seat is quick remove.... and it is an oddball bench seat one. Added amp speakers the bit, gas shocks, new front springs, rear stabalizer bar, and rear outside spare mount. 302 semi anemic but I love this thing. my lottery fantasy is 1 ton running gear and a 460 |
