My favorite Hillbilly... 421Tri power block and Muncie M22 and my Pop , he's 80yrs young...
|
Well, he looks like one cool Hillbilly, even if he is 80 years young. 5 good things going for him... a Coors, a 66 GTO, a 421, an M22 4 speed, and you N an B. ;) And he's got good taste... he's hanging with a 66 GTO :D
Now get that Goat back together and on the road... she needs to purrrrrrrr again. ;) Is he the original owner? |
Torq Thrust and satin finish=BAD ASS.
|
Very cool!
|
Pop and the 66 are cool! I miss my pop!
|
Dont see any hillbilly do'ns in that pic.
Agree, that is one sweet bad ass ride. |
Unless that's a Pabst Blue Ribbon and he has white socks and black loafers on, it don't qualify...lol.
Cool pic either way though. The Rebel flag really fits the car too. |

My Pop was born in Hardin County Ky, just outside E-town... My cousins live deep in Appalachian Mountains of KY... And my Son lives Morgantown WV... I know there's Moonshine somewhere in my family ... I kid you not.. My Pop came in 1953-54 to Ca. via the USN. to get out of those hills.... Thats a Coors lite ....
|
Hey it seems I made a pretty good guess. :D I sure hope you get that Goat running and back on the road soon N&B.
|
I looked at those pics two or three times before I realized that there's an engine in the car already. I see the trips....So what's the deal on the engine and tranny?

They will be the future components for my 66 , a 1965 Tri power engine with correct tri power unit, Muncie M-22 with original hurst shifter, and 373 in the rear... If we don't go on Strike !!!! She has in her now a 428 -tri power unit - Muncie M-20,355 in the rear ...
|
Seeing your Pop looking that good and so full of life at 80 years young should give us all hope for our own futures.
What I wouldn't give to be in the same great health and still be so active when I am at that age. Love for one's family and staying involved in a great hobby that keeps you active makes for a long happy life. I wanna be like your Pop. I just bought a '64 421 HO not too long ago so I'm working on getting there. ;) |
Looks like that 421 had an automatic on it from the flex plate on it. If you use that engine, don't forget to put a bushing or bearing into the back of the crank for the manual trans shaft to ride in. Nice looking car! Best of luck with it!
|
That car is BAD ASS, & you pop is a pretty tough ole dude too!
Thanks for the pictures & the smile they put on my face! |

Nice ride & I love the Stars & Bars on the front plate.
The Goat is painted Hot Rod Black?? What are the wheel sizes and offsets? Thanks, Don |
Just curious...but why take a 428 tri-power out and put a 421 tri-power in? Seems like apples for apples... Got a problem with the 428?
|
Apples to apples , Hmmmm ...is like red delicious are better Honey Crisp...
|
Hardin county. Thats pretty close to Henderson isnt it?
My inlaws and most of my wife's cousins live there. Great people. |
