Bank of America - NOT acknowledging Christmas!
 

I'll keep it short and simple. Whats happening to America and certain Americans ?!?!? Been banking with B of A for over 20 years. I walk in their bank today and its like a prison! No tree , No cheerful holiday music, No decorations, Nothing. Manager told me "Sorry, the corporate office doesn't want to offend anyone" . I replied out loud with "Sorry, first thing next week my entire family and I are closing our accounts"! First Schools wanted to stop saying the Pledge of Allegiance , Then there was talk of stopping "In God we trust" , Now this?!?!? beginning of the end I tell ya !

I've been displeased with this bank for a while. I opened an account back in the early/mid 1980's at a branch here when it was called F&M bank. Then it was Sovran, then Nationsbank, now Bank of America-which sucks.:gag: This finalizes my decision. I am closing out my accounts at the first of the year. They may not realize this or care, but they "offend" some people by not acnowledging Christmas. I am going to let them know about this as well.

Bank of America mistreated me over 30 years ago and I have not been back. To blazes with them.

When we moved to SC, we secured a mortgage with B of A. That was 5 years ago. We recently re-financed with another lender, after B of A said NO! We will also be closing our primary checking and savings accounts with them at the first of the year. Too many fees and a general lack of good customer service are the reasons. Bye Bye B of A!

When we moved to So. Cal in '87 we opened an account with Security Pacific which was a good bank in my opinion. In the early to mid-90s they were absorbed by BofA. When we moved back to Texas in 2001 we kept BofA but then one after another we had bad experiences with them, including which every time I went in to see if I could have this or that done they couldn't do it no matter what it was. We switched to a local credit union and they are happy to do anything and everything and we've had no problems of any kind with them.

BofA got waaaay too big and became a bureaucracy. Congress screwed up banking when they allowed these institutions to go nationwide.

i left boa and went to bb&t when boa insisted i make a deposit receipt on my checks.
i put my checks in every few months and to write 25-30 checks down was a hassle for me.bb&t does it without a problem

I have no personal dealings with BofA, but I have NEVER heard a single good thing about them. I can't believe that they have any customers from all of the stories that are around.:rolleyes:

It is the world we live in. Liberals inject this nonsense into us and all the sudden we dont want to offend a minority group of people. I say the majority of people need to yell louder and say we are offended.

Yes, they'll issue mortgages to people they know won't pay them back, they'll take billions of dollars from the American people, then pee it away, while giving huge bonuses to their executives, and then they want more money from the American taxpayers. One of our local big box stores has a big Christmas display, and they call it a "Holiday Sale", and they sell "Holiday Trees". Then I began wondering about all these PC people, not offending anyone, etc., and I thought to myself, if they're celebrating with a "Holiday Sale" and with "Holiday Trees", what holiday are they celebrating if they can't say "Christmas"? Try asking one of these Liberals what a "Holiday Tree" is, and see how they respond.

About 6 months ago I closed all of my business accounts with the bank of socialists and communists. I now bank with a small local bank that has great customer service and good old fashioned values....

That's the great thing about a "free market". One can vote with their pocketbook and their feet. If B of A sees enough loss, they will reconsider or will need to be content with their new found position...

Crazy... I've been with B of A since I moved to AZ in 1997. I don't think I've had any bad experiences with them, and I love the fact that they were one of the first to have free online bill pay (I write so few checks now that the current register in my checkbook goes back to 2001), free online transfers to other account holders (very convenient since I work overseas and have to transfer money online), and still free checking and savings - I haven't paid for either in the 14 years I've been with them.

Not having to listen to Christmas music (if I was there to visit a branch) is just a free bonus for me. :)

I dumped them about 10 years back after they hosed me on supposed overdraft charges. They did the hold my direct deposite and then run a bunch of on the first paid bills and tried to charge me overdrafts. I went down the next day and got it fixed and then closed my accounts.

Here's what I did today on the Christmas subject (nothing to do with banks though) and for the record I'm not really religious or a member of any church.

My boss wrote on our big white board the time of our "Holiday" dinner, so I crossed off the Holiday and wrote Christmas for everyone to see, I'm tired of all this "it may offend someone" B.S.:gag: ....let's call it what it is. I replace "holiday" on the forum I have to fill out for the company party too. My sons school also does this crap and I let them know I'm offended they are trying to change the way Canadians and North Americans alike celebrate this time of year, IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME....not holiday time.

Have a few drinks, eat some turkey with family & friends and enjoy the time off, MERRY CHRISTMAS.:beerchug:

I think that the liberals are offending more people by trying to change things than they ever would by just leaving our traditional stuff in place. I think the preople that have been here the longest having come to this country many generations ago and having lived within the US boundaries the longest actually have more seniority and if we feel the Christmas should be left as is, and the newcomers should have no right to expect it to change, same as a new hire doesn't come to a new job and have the boss kiss their a$$ the first week. If you don't like your new job and the way they do things you have the right to move on, the same applies about where you live, don't like the way we celebrate just move on. God, Christmas, and America are fundamental values that have made this country great and disrupting these values also weakens our country, "God Bless everyone and Merry Christmas"

Well I'm home now, the response was some laughter and "right on"...everyone agrees, let's call it what it is and I will continue to do that.

I know B of A is corporate Satan, but..... over two years ago when I called and said I was going bankrupt if they didn't work with me, they DID! Put me in touch with a non profit credit counseling service who they assured was 100% legit (they are) and B of A thereafter agreed to lowering my loan % to 2% (nothing almost). If not for B of A I would have went bankrupt, now I am halfway to being debt free. I felt obligated to post the other side also.

Sounds like they need to change their name to "Bank"!

This story reminds me of dealing with the IRS, after numerous phone calls and trying to get my affairs straightened out and talking to numbskulls I finally found a person who worked there that wanted to do their job and got my stuff straightened out. It just like playing the lottery, after so many dollars spent you might actually win something, your chances are pretty much against it though.

I dont know much about BOA other than they took a goverment handout like the rest of the crooked banks. I will say when it comes to the Flag and Christmas those are two things that should not be messed with. Christmas is one of the great American traditions for religious and non-religious Americans. It is a all encompassing holiday and for those people who get offended by Christmas DONT LOOK. I dont want to see plain white lights or Holiday signs in stores, it is Christmas dambit. I will say I have seen a few more stores with Merry Christmas signs hangning up though so

When are the silent majority going to speak out about "political correctness"? This country wasn't founded on Muslim principals or Hindu, Buddhist or any other principal other than Judao-Christian principals. If they don't love it then just LEAVE. 60 years ago when I was in kindergarten there were immigrants in our classes. They learned the English language-no other language. There parents also had to learn the English language to prosper here. If they didn't they faced economic hardships. Let's call a spade a spade and not make excuses for it.

Many years ago I lived in a small village in a foreign country. In the morning and evening I could hear the locals chanting some type of religious observance. In my inexperience and foolish naive appreciation of their culture I let them get away with it. I didn't know enough to complain and insist that they stop doing it where I could see and hear it.

It is Christmas... NOT Xmas or Holidays.

I told that to a woman that got all snippy about seeing Merry Christmas on a sign in front of a store. Also told her if she didn't like it to keep her :censored: mouth shut or go back where she came from. And for that..... I got a standing ovation from a bunch of people around me. :D True story.

They would ask you, "Is that where the Govt. puts the free i-phones?"

Maybe the solution here is to just have signs that say, 'Happy Birthday Jesus' instead. Nothing wrong with wishing someone a happy birthday yet is there?

AMAZING, and actually made me teary eyed. My parents / grand parents migrated to the U.S. from Europe back in the 40's & 50's . No one gave them anything on a silver platter . They had a few bucks in their pockets , small suite cases, and the clothes on their backs. They LEARNED English, They WORKED, The became AMERICAN citizens, and kept their faiths. Why? because its what you did and were proud to do it !

B of A aquired my mortgage last year while my house was for sale. They made me insure the contents the same as the value of the house. When I tried to explain that I wasn't living in it and there was nothing in it, they still made me up my coverage. Luckily I sold the house when they were only 5 months into the mortgage. Screw them, they made a couple of hundred bucks off of me.

These posts kind of reminded me of when hurricane katrina hit N.O. and all the low lifes came to Houston. Heard stories of them telling the volunteers that they don't get up till 10, could they serve breakfast then. :mad::2cents::jumping:

Thinking about and it does not really bother me. I celebrate Christmas, I would say most of the people here celebrate it as well as all the people that are important to me celebrate it. So who cares if corporations want to pander to a minority that just want to whine and moan about something that is supposed to be joyus. Let those people be miseralbe complaining all their lives about things that are silly and missing out on life itself.
