Where was your car sold when new?
 

This one of mine came from Pensacola, Fl right on Navy Blvd.

1974 was probably a great time to be running up and down that beachside strip in a brand new red Trans Am :)

One was sold in South Bend--70 Judge with almost no options. That's the one I wonder about the first owner. One convertible was sold here in town-conv LeMans. I have a bunch of others that I don't remember. But one was from New York and it's a very highly optioned car that I bought in Navarre Beach, Fla which is almost in Pensacola proper. I think it was actually in Fort Walton Beach. It's a Solar Red '68 conv GTO with power almost everything.
I don't get the PHS on all my cars now that it's more money.

You must have not been around in 1974. The first arab oil embargo happened just after the '74 models were released. Gas was almost onoexistant. Then, after some time when you could buy gas, the price doubled. It was a time of going backward as far as progress is concerned.

there are many but, the more interesting ones- I have a 70 GTO conv from Westward Pontiac here in Phoenix. Have a '71 GTO and '78 Macho TA from mecham Pontiac.

'72 WW5 455HO GTO was bought new in Scottsdale at Bud Beck Pontiac.

'70 GTO Ram Air IV was delivered to a southern California Pontiac zone office. May have been used for magazine tests and promotions.

'71 GTO 455HO- delivered to GM proving grounds Mesa, Az. My guess is it was an exec car as it is very loaded with options.

I was 11 in '74, but I remember the lines, the odd/even tag days and all. It was a pretty brief period of time where gas was really that hard to get, and more of an inconvenience than anything.

Still though, it's not like everybody was just sitting at home crying. Some would argue that progress is going backward today as well, but people aren't blowing their brains out over today's gas prices either.

It is now a closed Honda dealership.

My dad passed away in 1999. That is my 73 yr old mom a few years back.
On the way home from picking up the car at the dealer they stopped off to do some street racing.

My 69 firebird came from Reedman Pontiac in bristol, PA. Just a few miles from me.

My 69 Judge came from Brigham Gill Pontiac in Natick Ma (Framingham built car) and the dealership is now a jeep dealer of the same name. The 70 came from Cardinal pontiac in Richmond VA. Cant Remember any others that I have off the top of my head. Mark

My 1973 Trans Am, bought in Sacramento, was sold from Jules Meyers Pontiac on Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles 324 224

My parents traded in a `68 Firebird towards the `70.
