parts
i love it b-man i post the same parts you have and sell them in a day then you delete my posts because you want to rip off members by raising prices on your parts thats why i sell parts for the real price like the 481733 manifold for $80 not the price your trying to get and it sold in a day and then you deleted the post because you wanted to sell your parts for more and rip off members. ywe need a real moderator that does not rip off members and deletes posts if b-man has the same part and he tries to sell for more what you don't want members to see what the real price of parts are not your inflated prices. what a good guy you are.
wow you really rip off people intakes are $80 not $100 you mark up parts people like you damage the auto industry. suspend me i dont care i will just start a new member. i don't like what you do i posted the same intakes as you and sold them in one day and you removed the posts so you could only have your intakes on there and that people could not see the real price. people like you suck. i'm going to talk to performanceyears and get you removed from the moderator. |
take a breath..calm down..
all that matters is you sold your parts..i can ask 500 for the same stuff..if yours sells why bother...its called capitolism..or free market...let it go.. those intakes have been brining 100 bux for years..i see them priced all the time for that, if you choose to sell yours cheaper, its just that... your choice..hes been trying to sell them for 6 months at least.. Barts a good guy, you just may be having a bad day...check and see if its been moved to sold parts.. |
http://www.gtoman.com/shipping.php i'm not lying you need to check your facts. you will see what dale is talking about fed ex you need to see the crank that fed ex delivered to him and tried to make him accept. and he even says he will never use fedex. you want to get my thread locked and get me in trouble with py why don't you take a look at the fed ex box and the destroyed crank. and i'm calm i don't like people that artifically inflate the prices of restoration parts. and you need to goto:
http://www.fedex.com/us/fedex/shippi...ge/ground.html and you will see the shipping zones that is why it was the same price shipping 9779073 water neck to you in MO and to NJ. even if you are only one state away. i don't rip anybody off that is the price they quoted me now you can see the same price by 7 pounds you will come up with $17 shipping. i'm not going to fight with you you flip parts to make money i don't. you find cheap parts like the $15 pulleys and then flip them for $30 dollars people like you are bad for the restoration industry. thats why part flippers get a bad reputation so don't say i'm having a bad day people like you are bad for the industry. and this is why it is sooo expensive to restore cars. you just want to charge as much money as you can for any part and not sell it for what it's worth. |
yeah 6 months of holding on to parts someone can use everything i sell goes within a week. i hope he pays alot for storage or taxes on a barn for all his parts who really wins selling for more just to pay your storage or taxes to the irs on your property? thats why parts are marked up to pay for the place where the parts are stored unless he stores parts in his house and i'm sure the wife loves that one.
and it's not called capitolism it's called ripping people off. i would love taiwan or china to reproduce every pontiac part even the engines then we will see capitolism. and very poor parts thats why i only use original parts and the gtoaa and all the car clubs should deduct points for repop parts on show cars. i can show you a original 9799127 XF pulley original and then show thepartsplace repop where the number 9's and 2 are different and the stamping is too deep. piss poor repop parts and hood hinges also your hood falls down they are not strong enough to hold up the hood. i hate repop's they are of lesser quality and made in china or taiwan. every repop part i've seen is not up to quality like pontiac original parts from the 1960's and 1970's, that were made in USA, repop's are what i like to call piss poor parts. i've restored a 1969 judge and took 20 years to get all original parts and there is no comparison to a 1969 judge with repop parts the hood falls down it will not stay up with ram air. the pulleys have different stampings numbers are not the same and too deep stamped too hard. the concours judges should be able to recognize repop parts and deduct points for them. you want to see capitolism where are the billions that dissapeared on the tarmac runway in iraq thats capitolism. just like every store out ther they want to charge as much as they can so they price items the same at each different store and the dumb consumer just goes along with it. we are headed backwards this would of never happened generations ago. it's just that we have lost morals. |

Congrats on your ability on selling your parts fast. As far as your rant against b-man, why would it matter to you? What he does in his personal life and how he stores what he has to offer effect YOU in any way? If he does by chance have to pay extra for what ever, SO WHAT? How does this effect YOU? Do you have the stones to say these things to his face? If you can't say it to someone's face, it doesn't need to be said(typed) on here....You need a life, hobby or something... Like it has been said before... LET IT GO..... |
i'll talk to him in person at the gtoaa nationals here in colorado and voice my opinion with the gtoaa and their standards of judging concours cars. i'll be there see you all there. don't even go there with balls. also your all old people that will be gone long before i'm gone so enjoy your mark ups on parts. wow all these senior members and cheif ponti-yackers. all the same. mark up your parts all you want it's just hurting the industry thats why these cars don't get restored because the parts mark up, and the value of a regular gto is not worth paying to restore thats why only ram air and judges and rare cars get restored.
and then what happens if you have a stroke or heart attack and die and have all the parts just laying around who is going to sell the parts your kids it's assanine just ripping people off just to make a buck. people even barry engine blocks in their back yards. it's called artifical inflation not capitolism. i'll be glad to talk to you Nicks67GTO see you at the nationals in loveland colorado i want all of you to come to our great state. and see for yourselves. |
Do you think this is unique to pontiac? Every car line that people restore and play with the cars has the same thing...but there are many factors involved here...A it could be a business, he may have overhead, has to buy parts/cars and he may clean them up to turn a profit... capitalism at its best. B. supply and demand I hope I don't have to explain that one. C Caveat Emptor ( buyer beware) its his stuff he can charge whatever he likes, if you don't like it don't buy it. And im sure there are other factors involved...
Now if he deletes your post to push his own parts... that's just dirty and no excuse for that behavior. Repop parts have their place, not everyone is building a 100 pt judge and some people want to use their cars. If a repop pulley is a phone call away, and an orig is 3 mos of searching then refinishing etc...why not your back on the road in a day or two, some people don't care if its hecho in chine...I prefer oem stuff but im not made of money and if I want to add ram air to my non ram air car id buy repop if it works I don't need oem unless I find it and can afford it. And really your have a GM product you should be grateful you have parts availability! I have a few american motors cars and the parts available for the entire car line during its whole existence is maybe 1/3 of the parts available for a GTO. Fact is they made an awful lot of these cars so there is a demand for parts as allot are still around ergo repop parts are needed as gm isn't making them anymore. |

It is capitalism unless hes deleting your stuff to sell his own, in which case that's some totalitarian ****.
If you don't like his prices, don't buy his stuff. I have a 67' GTO California 360 HO car, numbers matching, blah blah blah. All that original stuff is out and i'm going aftermarket on just about everything because its stupid how expensive it is to restore to original. I'm not even going to bother. I don't care about original. |

Nicks67GTO talk to an appraiser they can tell aftermarket and repop parts and your appraisal on your vehicle will show this. thats ok nick i'm 36 and had my 1969 judge since 1990 and i'm just finishing total restoration with original parts and NO repop parts. i will love to meet you and talk and hear your opinion and give you my opinion and let you talk to an appraiser. my father is the original owner of a 1967 gto conv. that took gold concours and we did the restoration at my shop, NO repop anything and his appraisal with protecto plate is $120,000 more than some gold 1969-1971 judges. granted it has a $12,000 champaign metallic black interior and top 4 speed 3.55 gears. you will not see a better 1967 gto conv in the world.

However they are just cars and their value changes with the market and economy...your all orig judge is worth alot less today than it was in 2006...same with my 71 six pack shaker cuda' which is why I don't bother with appraisals and whether or not my cars 100 pt oe gold or what have you...im driving and enjoying that's what this hobby is all about! |

i'm right there with you sell your cars before they go into the dumps i'm sell ing my 1969 palladium silver black interior 4 speed judge with build sheet that shows they put a ramair 3 motor with a ram air 4 carb. in dash tach rally gauges pdb p/s all the goodies am/fm stereo i got the phs on it and it was wrong compared to the build sheet. long console non a/c though i might buy an a/c unit just for appraisal i have the 9796062 pulley for a/c i've been working with an appraiser and he said if the gtoaa gold he can gurantee $120,000-$150,000 appraisal because of the mileage. it only has 29,000 miles on it. and odometer has not been rolled back. and everybody says you need the 9799127 pulley sorry i have the short snout water pump 9796351 date d189 and everybody says they stopped making that pump in mid year and went to the long snout thats completely untrue. i also have a b279 9796351, i've been studying the pontiac gto that i got since 1990 and the master parts books and all literature i can pick up from gm i hane tons of gm memos to the factory and about 30 build sheets and the phs on the cars, and phs is incorrect 50% of the time according to the build sheets.
|
yeah **** it it is a daily driver and will die some day just remember to sell all the original parts before you crush it.

i've got a 1965 that is going to be a driver 421 tripower th400 3.23 gears all around disc brakes 2 inch lowering hotchkis suspension ssbc racing brakes force10 inlinetubes powder coated allthe frame diff a-arms and motor to frame mounts transmission crossmember everything but the firewallthe restored tri pop carbs were $1350. hotchkis 4 link f in rear 1 3/8 front sway bar 1" rear sway bar it's suppos to pull 1.2 g in a turn and have the best stopping power and SD performance is going to stroke and bore the motor for 726 horse power. i'm making a car to go 200 mph. 8500rpm redline. it will be a screamer.

poncho447
i even paid your mark up on a 1100700 9d3 alternator and you LMAO!!! i know too many hoarders of parts. and artifical inflators.
|
I bought a set of Edelbrock aluminum heads from B-man a couple years ago that were brand new in the boxes all packed inside another set of boxes and they showed up perfect and got a real steal of a price as a matter of fact. And to be honest, I didnt have all the cash for them up front so he let me pay him off over the course of a couple of months which he didnt have to do. As far as charging $20 more for an intake than another guy would, who gives a rats ass, keep looking. The deal with deleating posts, well I cant touch on that because I have no clue, maybe thats something that you and he need to discuss amongst yourselves because that seems to be a personal problem. Now you can go back to bragging about your cars again, Im 44 by the way if that helps.
|
not bragging about cars just telling that they are all original no repop. parts. and good for you with him letting you pay over time i just don't like the fact that i sell 2 intakes for $20 less in one day then he deletes the post because he has the same parts i think thats crap and when people look to see what the prices should be for the parts they get the artifical inflation costs of part flippers.
yeah edelbrock you can't mark up something you can get overthecounter today. not original gto heads also, but hey he worked with you, happy days |
The Edelbrocks were a few hundred less than over the counter and came with a set of brand new ARP studs so they were way under price.Look, we all get what your saying and if deleting posts is going on for the reason your saying well thats not cool. As far as selling parts here, I can personally say that it always a crap shoot and timing is everything. I would list an intake for $120 to give some bargaining play because nobody wants to pay for anything, we all want it for free as we are all trying to build our cars and need the cash. I want the most I can get for any part because I gotta get my car done just like you and all the rest of us. I have listed parts on here and NEVER sold them and have seen the same part go for more than I was asking 2 days later because I didnt bump it or the guy who bought it from the othe guy looked 2 days later. Bottom line is, if B man wants $100 and your happy with $80 and a quick sale then just keep pricing your stuff to sell as you are doing and let him take his time and stick to his pricing. But in the mean time you need to contact Bman and work it out. Good luck with it all.
|
i want to meet him not contact him. he can come to the gtoaa nationals in loveland colorado and im in castle rock so i will be there and all my cheap parts too. see i own land and don't pay storage or taxes on a barn it's a business and a tax write off. and everything is paid for so there is only utilities no overhead costs. or i'll go to some car show near him and meet him in person.
|
Thats fine and dandy so you need to stop bashing him on the forum then because thats not cool either and that hurts the hobby as well. And now we know why your parts are so cheap, thats good for you. Good luck and as my good friend Paul always says God Bless.

Dodger,
Check here on the sold parts section, it looks like your intake ads were moved there as they should be once sold: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...archid=3342111. B-man does a great job moderating the classifieds which is pretty much a thankless job. Maybe a pm sent to him instead of blasting away w/both barrels on the forums here would be a better approach. |
itsback
you must be b-man's friend and all of you sound like your working together to artifically inflate part prices. i've seen some of the ultimate warriors and chief-pontyacers buying up the cheap parts and flipping them for a profit. i only buy parts and restore them and do not mark them up when i sell them. and you get reciepts to show the price of the resto. distributors are a rip off here you can find most of them like 1111970 for $175 and everybody here tries to charge $375-$500 then it's $175 to restore and then shipping. i sold a 1111952 for $710 restored by ignition engeering and people are trying to sell cores for $600 when they buy them for $175-$200 this is crap and it's the reason the industry has a bad reputation.
|
steve v
yes thats good but i want to talk to him in person. he locked my post that shouldn not have been locked and sent me a warning. for telling the truth about some of the ripoff artists on here you people should sell your parts for what there worth and then more cars will get restored than crushed because it's too much$$ to get ripped off on parts that are artifically inflated just so they can make enough money to restore a car they have this is the problem with the industry and it needs to be regulated just like the oil companies.
|
this is just like the oil companies they just charge as much as they want to and we have no say but to not buy gas. that is the same with these parts and thats why there are cars just thrown together. with whatever parts can be found repop more than original.
|
why i want everyone that flips parts to make a quick buck to stop they are artifically inflating the price of parts yes i buy dist and alt and restore them but i don't rip people off on the sale and try to get a million dollars for every part.
every alt or dist comes with a warranty and is shipped to the new owner from the resto shop with reciept in their name. i see people selling "restored" parts without a warranty thats crap who did the resto? and what happens if the part works for a month then dies at least with a warranty i give from ignition engeerine you get a 1 year warranty in your name who else does this??? |
You sold a dist for 700 and yur complaining someone sold an intake for 20 bucks more than u wanted for yours? If you want cheap parts go buy a late model. But then you might be surprised what the dealer charges for junk parts
|
Yeah I drive out to California once a week to visit my good buddy Bman, I dealt with him once and it went fine. Who cares, just deal with Bman by sending him a pm. This is the 61-77 GTO, Tempest and Lemans used parts for sale section, not your personal wage war on the world section. If you have something to sell, list it and sell it or go to a St. Patricks Day party or something, you have made your point and told us all about your original cars, parts, and how you own land and blah blah blah oil company bs and on and on and on. I dont think your going to out live us all with the rage you have going on there.

$700, Did that come with the motor?

Just like you booted gregs2gto2 (if I remember his member name correctly). I'm just waiting for PY to violate my constitutional right to free speech. Then we will see what happens in a court of law PY

It is what the market will bear. I like getting a deal, and I like to sell a part to someone who needs it to fix their car up IF don't need that part or don't think I WILL need that part soon. Recently I viewed an ad for some business equipment (not auto related) that was priced at 110% of new. In other words they had a $110 price tag a late model used piece of equipment that anyone could go buy new for $100. No antique value, just lat model candy cooking devices that are used in my industry. I called the gent with an offer that was generous at 60% of new (higher than the typical 50% in the industry) CASH. He was insulted and angry and simply would not believe me that the materials are on the market for the price I quoted. Perhaps he was rooked and bought them really high and was embarrassed. But nonetheless he still running his Craig's list ad 5 months later and I found a seller to sell the same stuff I needed at 45 cents on the dollar plus truck freight. So the free market is a 2 way street. Best wishes. We may have differences of opinion and argue or haggle, but lets be real.

that was a show quality distributor ready to install with 1 year warranty and i sold it to bill rea and he flipped it for $1000 so what do you think of all these inflators. wrea3 if i remember correctly his member name he has a resto shop and told me that the dist. was for him themn he flipped it. what a bunch of **** this is why people can not restore their cars. i bought a complete 1969wsC149 motor with 1111970 9C20 dist for $2650 lets see you find this price for a complete motor ws ram air 3 and read ITSBACK your just defending your friend and by the way i calm rational and trying to have a discussion with people who want to fight it's like your white trash, by the way i love the picture. are you trying to tell me your all varmints. read ITSBACK

what i want is the artifical inflation of part prices to cease and the people who list parts like the pulleys for $15 each then picked up by a parts flipper and he is going to list them for $30 each this is bull**** those parts should have gone to some 16 yr old trying to restore his first car a gto.
|
Who are you refering to as white trash, because your all over the place now and just want to understand where your coming from now?
|
$15 pulleys bought to flip this is crap and not what py forums are for
http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...ghlight=pulley
$15 pulleys bought to flip this is crap and not what py forums are for they are for people needing parts for their car not people trying to make a quick buck. |
Back to the dustributor. I guess you paid $700 fot it because you needef it and the guy you sold it to needed it also so you sold it to him. Or you at least had $700 invested by means of the purchase price you paid plus parts and time you put into it or labor and parts you paid someone else. You then sold it at an uninflated price to another guy.
|

i sold it to wrea3 bill rea and then he flipped it for $1000 and i helped him locate a xx 7028273 carb that he did not even thank me for. and i found out that he is a shop owner and just does restorations for people i only sell to people putting their own cars together and all the restore shops mark up every part and take advantage of the unknowlegeable people that want to restore their cars. this gives the industry a very bad reputation.
i was going to use it on my 1969judge but it was way too early date i bought it as a core and had ignition engineering restore then i sent it to wrea3 i made $40 bucks for my time and then he flipped it. the shipping to and from ignition engineering. was the $40 bucks. |
pnypwr
i get the appraisal for perfect cars overspray is just like the 1960's painted bolts are painted non painted bolts are not painted and the paint is correct for the body tag codes all the numbers match and the body paint is the paint from the 1960's not the new paints i don't do a half as5ers. who get bronze or silver or gold my cars are perfect 100% and original parts and thats why my 1969 judge took 20 years to complete. the appraisal is correct when the appraiser saw my cars he was stunned. this is me protecting my investments. p.s. it's saint pattys day and time to rage the only way I rage is with a raging kegger party and thats what i'm doing today after this post. bye i will talk to you guys tomorrow please keep posting comments i want everyone on PY to comment on this.
