69 Judge stance
 

Does this car look a little soft in the rear?When I got car it had air shocks.Tom

It looks factory. I prefer a little forward rake.

I like it like that.

I dont like the low ass look!Tom

Whats up with that hood crap?Seems like the foam in the RA pan is too thick.I remember my 69 GTO with the RA pans was the same way.Tom

looks good to me as well.someone here posted "pontiacs had a higher front rake so it looked like it was accelerating even standing still" dont know if its true but i like the look..

all 60s Pontiacs are tail draggers.....when i was a kid, we got hijakers, now i like the tail draggin'

Agree - current stance looks factory correct. The ride height measurements are in the service manual if you want to verify it.

I'd let about a half inch of air out of the front springs to level it (not raise the rear...), but that's just the way I happen to like them...

Mine actually sits exactly like that Tom....except mine also sits a bit lower on the driver's side than the pass side.....That part, I DON'T like.
I wonder if it's because I ripped all the A/C stuff out?

Looks to me like its just right!

To intelligently answer your question about if it looks right requires knowing
how much fuel was in the tank when the picture was taken. If the tank was empty it's sitting a little low in the back. If the tank was half full it looks
right. If the tank was completely full, it's sitting high in the back.

1/2 tank,as I said I dont like it and might raise it a bit.UNLESS someone just cant live without it and wants it more than me.Tom

My car sits the about the same way.

That is perfect,and very nice!! These cars did not sit on the snubbers in the front when new.And the back was always lower. I like them like that.I hate the 70,s rake!

Tom, did you measure the rocker height from front to back? I believe a correct stance has the rocker level. I tend to like just a scootch of forward rake, if you want that just add the air shocks or put a 1/2" spacer under your rear springs.

the more photos I see of your car, the more I'm thinking that someone might just be me!

OK,finally could not stand the stance or the ride.Put a set of Airlift bags in the springs.I think I have it about where I like it.Will drive it this weekend and see if it settles at all.Tom

The shadows make it hard to tell Tom.

those are both now,it in 1 in higher.The front is 28in from the wheel well moulding center to the ground.The rear was 26 and is now 27 1/4.The ride if firmer but does not seem harsh.Will know a lot more sunday afternoon.Having breakfast with Wheelspin and a couple other pontiac owners.Will put about 60 miles on it that AM.Tom

Just as a comparison, I just went out and measured mine. 26.50" rear, 28.75" front. Tires are 15" P-215/70s

I think the side body shape and stripe both leaning down toward the back makes this body style look lower in the back when it isn't. to offset that I feel the car looks better picked up in the back a bit like you did. I do appreciate stock looking cars more than when I was younger and saw everything lifted with big wheels in the back,, But I have a real problem with cars that look like they are bringing home cement bags from the Home Depot, Just my opinion,, On this everyone is probably going to see things differently. But what you like is more important. Its not like your asking would it look better with a big urinal scoop in the hood, It can easily be changed. So I say your Good To Go. Just me , I say cars dragging butt look like cars "dragging butt", And cars that are even or just a tad higher in the back look "Light And Lively". Nice car either way.

If you look at old magazine ads on Ebay, and GTO books that show original advertising, you can see the rears were quite low.

tom s- your car looks great with the new stance! Were the airbags easy to install? I'd like to look for a set and do the same thing to mine!

VERY easy,bought them on ebay,something like $70 for the kit.I jacked up the car and just folded the bags to go thry the springs.I did not run the lines ,just thru the bottem of the coils.My take was set them and forget them.I dropped it 1/4 inch since the pics.Im done.tom

I just ran the lines to a factory hole towards the rear of the frame rails; though I also intend to "set it and forget it", I thought I may as well give myself easy access if I ever need it.
