If they are too small to read on your screen, you can hold down your control button on your keyboard and press the + button and you can blow them up as big as you want..

I couldnt get them much bigger than this...so do the control + thing and you can get them as big as you need.....Awesome for James to let us have these...thanks again James...

Found this video on repairing these bumpers. Wondering what are everyone's thoughts on it?
Sounds like he's a hick but is it correct?

I like at the end when the author points out you can save a whole 60$ over replacement. :)

I know, that was probably a significant sum back then, but imagine that proposition today: "So, I can get a new one for just 60$ over the price of the hacked together one, and I wont need two donor bumpers?" :D

Well, to put that $60 into perspective, think of this... A brand new 68/69 GTO fairly well loaded with options was probably four or five thousand or less...so yeah, $60 was pretty significant. Probably a car payment.

i have restored 1968 GTO frame off approx. 99% completed. here is the problem i need help with i can't find the center a/c duct that goes from main dist. to dash outlets. i have check with a lot of used parts places no luck so far. thanks for any help.http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...lies/smile.gif

I think most of these bumpers are a little bent. Mine was & I bought two more before finding one that was only a "little" bent. Took some time to get it straight. I followed PaulatFast's procedure as it made sense & he seemed to have the proof to back it up. It's incredible the amount of time I spent to save only $60.00 haha :)

The part in the bulletin where they cut one in half with a saw raised my eyebrows a little.

Is there a sticky, or central location, or how-to article, or book, pamphlet, manual, brochure, etc etc. For endura bumper repair that lists actual product names and numbers etc.
I've pieced together several posts for FastbyPaul, while they outline procedures nicely there is little info on actual products used, name brand, number etc.

When it's time to buy, I'm going to need to have an actual name and number for the products.

There's a thread somewhere I chimed in on a couple years ago when I was doing my bumper. The process from paul is painstaking with repairing cracks, but the SPI epoxy primer is a breeze. In fact, I have been using SPI epoxy on other things since rebuilding the endura bumper. That SPI epoxy sands easy and stays a little more flexible than other epoxys out there. I have dumped leftovers in mixing cups & left them dry up & shrink for months & SPI is still a bit flexible where std primers & epoxies become very hard & brittle.

This is what I used to fill the cracks and it really worked well. Been on my bumper for 3 or 4 years now. It sands great and it looks exactly like the black endure material when it's sanded.
I think it's sold under the 'Bondo' name now but it's the same stuff. Bought it right off the rack at the local parts store.

Next time someone in the know does a bumper ...maybe they will write it all down. Seems like there are several different methods out there.

If you have a decent GM dealer you can work with, the stuff GM use to sell at the Pontiac dealers is still in the parts book (computer) but you'll probably have to find a parts guy who will spend more then the usual 30 sec's to find it. It use to be about $ 15.00 for enough to do about 7-8 pretty big cracks. It was sold for the endura front ends alone.

Hard to believe the repairs I made on my bumper happened 9 years ago already! I would not have guessed that,
but I suppose when you take 18 years to restore a car that will happen ;)

My bumper has been painted for 3-ish years now & still looks perfect. So Pauls procedure that I mimicked on post #25 worked great. Zero regrets. I see the 3M repair material went up a bunch in price, but what hasn't.
