A very fair price for such a clean, dry M22 WW5 car, Chris. Even taking into consideration that the OEM block and trans are gone.

You state "325 WW5s", etc. I thought the WW5 production was 290, no?

I believe it is 310 with a 4spd. 325 with an Auto and of the 635 built 290 of them were WW5 optioed cars. I own one of the 325 Auto's without the WW5 option.

'72 455HO A-body info . . .

As mentioned above, a total of 635 455HO optioned '72 GTOs were produced. 310 M22 cars and 325 M40 cars.

As also mentioned above, a total of 290 WW5 optioned '72 GTOs were produced. No breakdown as to the transmissions on the WW5 cars, unfortunately.

We DO know that a grand total of 10 WW5 optioned 2D27 GTO post coupes were produced - 7 M40 cars and 3 with M22s.

In addition, a total of 112 non-GTO '72 A-body cars were 455HO equipped. I believe that I have the M22 / M40 breakdown on those, but not at hand.

Really? I did not realize any WW5 sedans were built. Now you say there were 10 of them?
Could you have meant to say "10 455HO GTO sedans" perhaps?

So all GTO post HOs had the WW5 package?

Nope, I know thats not right! I know of one in Texas thats a automatic, with bench seat and A/C! Not a WW5.

Sorry guys - that's what I get for trusting my nearly non-existent memory . . .

Of the 290 total WW5 cars, 287 were "2D37X" hardtops, and 3 were "2D27X" post coupes.

Also, of the 635 total 455HO powered 1972 GTOs, 628 were 2D37X hardtops, and 7 were 2D27X post coupes.

Here's an HPP article on Terry Pope's original owner WW5 post coupe, with special order black paint to boot. It was shipped from the factory with a white endura!

Thumbnail sketch is two bays - one will be 20x60 for storage, will hold 12 cars if I get stacker lifts16x10 door. Other bay will be the work bay, 16x46 which should give me room for an asymmetrical lift at the far end and still room for my Ford between that and the 12x10 door.

Site maps are done, prints were done Sunday & I went through the town departments yesterday for signoffs. It's in the building department now for review. I should have the lumber going up by this time next week.

i want that garage!! Why don't you come visit us for a couple of weeks and build a prototype here first!!! :D Its not a bad drive from your place to mine.;)

i didnt even notice it was a post coupe, mine, it s all original, looks about like that faded paint nice interior and blown engine.

I wanted to let you know, being the wife of "the seller" that we do read the threads from time to time and I saw where some of my pictures were posted, which is fine, but I don't understand how it can be talked about when only a few people has seen it and I'm not sure what it means that the seller is way too proud of it...I know that we are proud to have found and owned the car for many years and as far I know we've never discussed money with anyone. Billy did ask GTOfourdoor's (John) advice on a possible asking price ....
Just fyi---It was a nice surprise to see that someone is still talking about the car but do know I read the comments.

I'd like to know the asking price to, as I may be intrested in the car but I hate to have to jump through hoops just to find a price for a car. I understand that the comment about being very proud of the car when no price is able to be produced when the car is for sale. If it's for sale then then price wheather high or low it should be listed so all know what there looking at for a price for the car. So what is the Price?????????

Take away the WM Block, the M-22, the 7042273 carb, the Ram Air setup, unitized distributor and the exhaust manifolds and I'm asking less than 20 for the car. :noidea:

How about an exact price for the car with just the RAM AIR Stuff ? Does it have a running 455 in it now with the complete A/C unit ?

Are you a buyer Jim? Yes it's a running driving car - it runs like a scalded dog!

We'll see how the next 24 hours go with it, maybe that will be the next round - $19,500 no reserve as it sits with nothing extra. May even throw some Rally II's on it for that price and keep those beautiful Honey's for my GT-37. I can even pull the Y-99 rear bar off it and sell that separately.

Start pricing up the parts and it's a steal!

Chris, unless you are in a hurry to sell, wait until next car season and take it to a show and put a for sale sign in it. Lots of buyers at shows....especially with the combo national shows next year. POCI and GTOAA show would be a good place to place a for sale sign in that car. I think you are right to sell the parts separate. You'll get the value out of the parts as well as more buyers. I had a lot of tire kickers when I sold my GTO a couple years ago. I started out on ebay too. No real interest. Ended up putting a for sale sign in mine at GTOAA in Wichita, had multiple buyer inquiries and got my asking price.

I agree with PB. It will do much better at one of the shows than on Ebay. Nothing makes someone want to buy something rare more than walking around a bunch of other rare cars that they can't buy...

i am of the opinion the ww5 71-72 cars are way under valued and should be on par with 69-70 Judge prices. Same round port heads and less produced.

that being said, here is my special order paint, 72 black car going to the paint shop.

Great HO car! Almost all the WW5 options on it. Is the interior black? Triple black?

white interior. Someone had to go down the line and check off all the options. How could they have skipped the a/c? Think i should add it while the car is disassembled?

NO - do not add A/C, it's not an option like 8-track that's easily changed out if someone wants the car to be original.

So, what car sold? Chris SO WW5? Or both?? Both great looking cars!
