If I win the lottery, the first car I buy would be....
1968 Ram Air II Firebird 4 speed.
What would you buy? |
One way ticket to disappearing cause everybody and your long lost sister, brother, cousin, and mother inlaw will be calling!
|
Well, it would depend on what I could find first.
Here is my list of wanted cars. Not in any real order. 70 GTO 69 Mustang Coupe/hardtop. High School car, took my driving test in mine. 65 Olds Dynamic 88 2 door. First car I owned, never ran. Learned a whole lot about starting and ignition systems on it. Found out after I sold it that the engine had frozen. 72 Ranchero 40 Ford 57 Ranchero 57 Ford 79 Pinto 63 Grand Prix 65 Bonneville (built the plastic model kit many times, one of my favorites to build). Moved to Phoenix from Ohio in a station wagon version. 66/7 Corvette with a 427. 60 Vette to make into a gasser (another model kit I loved to build) 32 Duece (but no chevy engine!) 60 Chevy sedan delivery ( I think that is the name)(another favorite model kit) Almost any older funny car (60's to 70's, back when they looked like the car they were supposed to be) 41 Willys gasser 67 Mustang (for my best friend, was his second high school car) 63 Dodge Dart GT ( again for my best friend, was his first high school car) I better stop here. I could do this all night long, and I am at work. Especially since I can't buy a ticket. Russ |

sleepy,
As long as it has a 5,500 ft runway that is rated for 100,000lbs landing weight. No, I rather have a Citation X and a King Air 200. Both can operate from airfields where ANY Gulfstream (IV,V,G450,G500,G550) COULD NOT. |
HIS,
Dittos on the tithe. One problem; would you give it all to one church or spread it around? |

I would buy my old Y-81 T/A back and send it to Scott Tiemann to be restored.
|
Brand new 911 turbo.
Then start building a massive garage and take my pleasant time populating it with many of the vehicles already mentioned, among others. A 67 427 vette vert would be near the top of that list. |
The first one? It would be the one that she wants. After that I would buy a 65 Catalina 2 door hardtop and have it restored using all modern drivetrain to make it a reliable daily driver.

No such distribution to those that have a " sudden spiritual sight", no organized church that feeds a Conference, no Redistribution to "do good works"in the name of doing good works. That is simple. |

'67 Ferrari 330GT 2+2 in Azure Blue followed shortly a '65 2+2 Catalina, '69 RAIV Goat like my uncle had, '62 SD421 Catalina, '72 Hurst SST Grand Prix and a '76 Grand Prix rebuilt into the sweetest highway cruiser money can buy(with a pure Pontiac powertrain).
|
I already have a '64 GTO Convertible, so I'd probably look for a 1965 Iris Mist Ram Air GTO with 3 deuces and a 4 spd..
Then a '66 Ram Air GTO with 3 deuces and a 4 spd. Next would be a Plum Mist '67 Ram Air GTO with a 4 spd and. Next a '67 Firebird with the Sprint option and a 4 spd. While I'm buying '67's - I might just as well pick up a GP Convertible...;) |
Duesenberg dual-cowl phaeton, prefer one with a V-windshield. And a place to house it. With room for a few lesser vehicles. ;)
|
Would be a new Mini Cooper for my daughter. She has a 2003 that she loves, but it's got 113K miles now and has been needing the high mileage fixes lately.
For me? '65 2+2 Catalina, 421, tri power 4 speed, maybe another full size SD Pontiac. |

A gto cause then I could afford one!

|
what a NO BRAINER, I wouldn't Monkey around with that kind of money
I would buy The MonkeeMobile of course :) |
|
I would build, using all correct casting number parts, a concours level 1973 GTO SD-455 4 speed. Black on black, Rally Cluster with tach, small hub PMD Custom Sport Wheel, tilt wheel, no console, Honeycombs, stripes. Then go and race it against the stout Stage 1 4 speed 1973 Gran Sport, and see people's reactions.. HA!
|
einstein,
Good choice, but I'd rather have an Auburn boattail Speedster(supercharged, of course). |
'66 W30 442 has always been my favorite car, that would be first. '68 RAII Firebird would be close behind.
|
Obviously if I win $550 million I'm not buying JUST one classic car. I'm gonna have a crapload of them.
But the very first one I'd buy is John Milner's 32 Coupe. http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/...lnerscoupe.png Look I love Musclecars and Pontiac makes some serious Musclecars but there's just nothing cooler or more classic than a 32 Ford coupe. Just badass. |

einstein,
Auburns may have been "lesser", but they are far more practical to drive today than a multimillion dollar Dussie. |
Cars of course, but I would buy a company and tool it up to make all the obscure parts that restorations companies find unprofitable to make.
|
You mean what brand of car dealership would I buy first?

einstein,
We used the same addage in general aviation. BTW....no, not to work. Just to take out on a nice Sunday afternoon drive. |
Orbit Orange GTOs are sweet but,
'76, or '77 Ventura SJ coupe; preferably 1977. Then I'd replace the drivetrain with running gear from a '74 GTO w/4-speed.
Second choice would be a '75 Ventura Sprint with factory 3-speed floor shift. Replace the 260 with a freshened up 403. An original Cameo White 1980 Grand Am would be nice. I'd have it color changed to Peidmont Green, no expense spared. (I couldn't do that to a red, black or gold one) |
Rat spit!! Only one number matched......oh,well!
|
1 69 ta 4 sp ra iv
2 70 gto oo anyway possible 3 67 rs camaro 327 4 sp 4 73 super duty 4 sp 5 65 gto anyway possible 6 69 gto ra iv blue if possible 7 brand new f 250 8 everything kenny c has |
Sorry, but at my advanced age and mellow-ness, I'd have to go for a 2013 Camaro ZL-1 coupe - with the automatic of course!
|
Toss up between a '62 Ferrari 250 GTO and '65 Shelby Daytona. Next in line, '63 SD Tempest Wagon.
|
BMW M5 with manual trans. Great daily driver!!!
|
Would you still need a daily driver?
