Thanks, I appreatiate it, at one of my jobs I already have to pick my vacation dates for next year, when I don't know when most of the stuff going on is that I want off for:censored:

Sirrotica 12-20-2012 11:59 PM

Just an FYI, Norwalk is always the first full weekend in August, it's the easiest way to know when, all you need is a calendar.

GTO JOHN 12-22-2012 12:19 AM

I'm planning to be there again.

Jerry H. 12-22-2012 12:25 AM

I probably won't be able to make but one big event this year; so is it Norwalk or the CoVention in Dayton?

I would go to Norwalk over the convention.

gman005 12-22-2012 01:03 PM

The main reason I'm even debating is that I'm planning on some changes for the car and retiring it from racing. (Don't won't to hurt the original engine and don't have the cash to build a replacement) It's about a toss up as far as costs; the CoVention is more days, Norwalk is further. I just don't know where I want to pull all the way up to Norwalk and not race. (Not that it would make any difference-we're never very competitive)

My decision may be made for me next month anyway if the lawsuit goes the wrong way when we go to court.

Rob B 12-23-2012 12:44 AM

Jerry , which ever you decide, I'll see ya at either event.!

Dill,
You're killing me! :-)

GTO George

SupergasDil 12-24-2012 10:10 AM

George, after all that smack talk I gave you, and then come to find out my transmission was not working and had to go home with my tail between my legs, I'll be a good boy this time. I'm putting her back together now. Definitely going to get some seat time 2013 before I make that 1,800 mile round trip tow again. I'll just say that I'm shooting for a spot in the Q-16 ;)

mechanickeith 12-24-2012 03:20 PM

1800 miles Dill!! Rokie!!! :D last year Steve & I did 4500 miles to Norwalk & back. Return trip, we left Norwalk sunday evening & were back in Phoenix tuesday morning.

Hope to see you in April. I may make Norwalk again this year.

goatless 12-24-2012 04:50 PM

Makes my 1200 mile round trip seem like kid stuff!:D

60man 12-24-2012 10:06 PM

Yeah...my 900 mile trip seems small....I did go to Florida and back a while ago...
About 2,100 miles round trip....Left on a Tuesday morn and got back on a Thursday evening..with a small detour..feel for you guys..I was beat and broke buying diesel fuel...

All said...It's Norwalk !!

mike nixon 12-25-2012 12:03 AM

Since it falls on my Birthday I'm gonna try and hit Norwalk this year. I HOPE to do the Convention this year for more than the Board Meeting IF [ A BIG IF] YOu people elect me to the POCI BOD again!

miltmilton 12-28-2012 12:23 PM

Well I got the old yellow Bonneville back together after setting her on fire. Plan on making Norwalk and the Co-convention this year. I'm looking into storing the car and trailer for the time between Norwalk and Columbus in Columbus since we drive thru there going to and from Abilene. Unless of course something catastrophic happens. Sure would save some fuel costs and travel time. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones not to mention hanging around some awesome cars!

milt

Jerry H. 12-28-2012 11:41 PM

Looks like my summer show plans may be in limbo at this point. I got thrown a curve ball in our lawsuit, and had to spend my summer traveling money to retain a lawyer. I may not be able to attend either event.

beemergary 12-28-2012 11:57 PM

When it comes to Norwalk I always say BE THERE OR BE SQUARE. Since I've been to Dayton won't be going back. I probably would go to Bowling Green again.

Glad to see you didn't burn Old Yellow up Uncle Milty.....how did that happen ??!!
I don't think I'll make Co-Vention but Norwalk ....Hell Yeah..!!! There's lot of Pontiac people in Ohio & Indianna you may be able to drop off Old Yellow..
See y'all at Norwalk....might have a little surprise for ya..
You & Mr. Robertson have a good New year..

russosborne 01-02-2013 04:49 AM

Well, I am shooting for Norwalk, not too sure if I will have the Lemans running by then.
this stupid heart attack deal has slowed me down a bit.
Plus, I am haivng doubts about my plane jane 350. Went to take the exhaust manifolds off today and rounded off most of the bolts. If I have to pull the heads I might as well just get another engine, and not sure if that is in this year's budget(even a cheap running one). I should have the rest of the car together by then.

But I need to at least make it for the swap meet, I really need that. And my wife really got a kick out of seeing the races, she had never been to a drag race before.

Russ

v869tr6 01-14-2013 08:34 PM

How many drag cars are at most National events at Norwalk?

goatless 01-14-2013 08:41 PM

A whole bunch!

Seriously, I think there was near 500 race cars there at the 2012 event! The pits were as full as I've ever seen them.

Sirrotica 01-14-2013 09:30 PM

The show field and the race cars are usually fairly close in numbers and they usually are very close to 500 on each side, more or less.

v869tr6 01-17-2013 10:26 PM

Thanks, thats a lot of cars.

Cars, beautiful cars... And Ice Cream! We're gonna get ice cream!

I hope we don't have to get our tonsils out though.

Just double checking the dates here.

Don't forget to bring something for the picnic.

I like Ice Cream, LOL

Looking at the flyer on line it has 2 camping options with and without power, I would guess you can just camp in your pit space also???

johnta1 07-06-2013 05:15 PM

Yes.
(no tents with stakes though)

:)

v869tr6 07-06-2013 06:36 PM

at least they are both in the Best State in the Union!!!

Dave M 07-07-2013 10:00 PM

I'll be there. I just had left shoulder surgery 7/2. Hopefully, I can handle the drive.

twooldgoats 07-15-2013 06:17 PM

Ellen and I got our plane tickets today. We'll be there as spectators. I've always wanted to go, but never have. Maybe it'll inspire me to get back on my racecar project.

Columbus. US Air has a non-stop out of Phoenix with good flight times. Columbus and Phoenix are both hubs for them.

Coming to Norwalk for 1st time. I was told to throw up a note here that I am looking for parts for my 63 Lemans Convt. Need sunvisor shade mounts, rearview mirror, taillights and bezels, need side window glass for convt with chrome trim, need convt vent window assmblys, gage cluster, horns and relay and courtesy lights. Trying to get a shroud that looks stock. If anyone has a suggestion to make/model that would be great. 217-414-3360 from Central IL Thanks Robin
