2013 Indian Uprising All Pontiac Weekend

This year we are back! After a tough year planning and hosting a successful POCI Convention, its back to our normal programming.

This years show dates are August 3 & 4 and will be at the same place - DuPage Expo Center in St Charles, IL

Its early to start giving out show information because show planning is still in the early stages, but check back here as we'll post cool new stuff for 2013 as soon as it comes in.

You guy's do know that this show is the same weekend as the Tri-Power Nat's in Norwalk,Ohio right ?

Old Blue 66 12-30-2012 12:03 PM

This questions comes up every year. Im glad to answer it.

Yes. It has been for the last two years. We have quite a few people who do both shows. It hasn't hurt attendance at either show.

Our attendance just keeps growing. The decision to do the show on that weekend is SOLELY based on the availability of the show grounds and we've talked with Kevin at Ames about this extensively. There isn't another place in northern IL that will hold The Indian Uprising with out being too cramped. You can ask anyone who attends that this facility is perfect for us.

For those who do both shows, that's one heck of a great weekend.

Father&Son73T/A 01-26-2013 02:34 PM

I'm there again,NO COMMENTS ABOUT RAIN!..........or I'll have to kill you.

Hotel reservations

Info copied here from the club website. make reservations now as most hotels book up fast.

Our show host hotel, The Hilton Garden Inn of St. Charles, IL is located immediately East, and adjacent, to our outdoor show field. The indoor arena is positioned immediately West of our show field. Both show venues are in easy walking distance from the host hotel.

A special block of rooms has been set aside at a reduced rate of $99.00 per night for those attending our show. Advanced reservations are necessary and can be make by calling (630) 584-0700. It is suggested that you deal with local advance reservations, not off-site central reservations. Ask for "the Cruisin' Tigers Indian Uprising rate."

Brew,
Let me throw another one at you. On the same weekend Madison Classics the promoter's for Jefferson spring and fall car show event's has there Elkhorn,WI car show event and the feature car PONTIAC'S. What do you do ???? Can't be at all of them at once. It suck's!!!!! You wait all winter to get out and have some fun and they bundle it all up in one weekend.....

Brewster 04-17-2013 09:31 PM

Yeah, but Mad-Town to St Charles is only a two hour drive. You thinking what Im thinking. Tipp City My @ss this is major possibility on this run.
Lets talk people!

Old Blue 66 04-18-2013 08:50 AM

Please refer back to post 6.

Cant help it guys. There aren't that many weekends in the summer if you look at a calender. Some weekends are too close to holidays a couple of of other national Pontiac events, going back to school and rainy season (any time in June and in over 20 years this show has never suffered from a full rain out). Not to mention that the show grounds has limited availability and the only place in IL to hold us.

If we were a week before or after POCI, GTOAA or Norwalk, most people wouldn't use two weekends in a row to travel to a show even if we had more availability of dates in St Charles.

We just have a very short season. :(

Judge273 04-18-2013 09:16 AM

Rainy season is in full swing!

pontiacs4ever1971 04-18-2013 10:52 AM

We will have all 5 cars up to the show again this year. I joined the club and will be helping park cars sat or Sunday.

Old Blue 66 04-18-2013 11:43 AM

And by the way

Pre-registration is open on our site. Has been for a while but I forgot to mention it.

Avoid the lines and swing right onto the show field when you per-register.

that is sad, they need to combine this with the Norwalk show and race. We could go to both but we cant .

Tough choice for Chicago area folks:
5 hour drive vs a 1 hour drive
Racing vs no racing
Too much beer vs probably no beer.

Norwood 05-07-2013 06:14 AM

Paul, I'm in. Will be a nice weekend close to home with no hotel bill. I might even sneak a beer maybe even two. See you there.

74 SD455 Formula 07-03-2013 04:47 PM

How much is a swap space and do you need to get them in advance or can I just show up ?

If your car is in the show, you can put a for sale sign on it. No specific car coral.

Are you going to help with parking again this year Norm??

Swap space along the back of the show field is free. If you want to be on the paved lot near the building with the other vendors/show sponsors, the cost is $50 per two parking lot spaces.

Ill be in the free area on Saturday with hundreds of 1/64 die cast. All Pontiac. Maybe Sunday too.

Last year they finished half the construction. This year they are doing the other half. I travel right by the show grounds four or five times per week. Traffic wise, its not bad at all.

Cant seem to justify ripping around in a six+ figure car all the time any-who. Might be going to the HO side for a change.
I'll give you a hint, its Silver with a rock crusher;) So would that mean I need to change my forum name???:oogle: Maybe I could shorten it to just Brew

We have not scheduled any racing. We just don't have the manpower to organize it. So we dropped it.

Edited for unruly comets. Apologies.

Paul as I recall, the insurance companies were the main reason it was dropped.

Old Blue 66 07-16-2013 09:07 AM

TWO WEEKS FROM SATURDAY!!!!

- Pre-registration is way up.
- Hotels are sold out for the most part - If you need help getting a room, let me know.

Don't forget the All Make and Model Cruise on Saturday night with live band and tons of food. Bring your Chebby, Mopar and Ford friends at 4pm until 10:00. park on the grass and have fun!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Please dont forget a large majority of the proceeds from The Indian Uprising go to childrens charities.

Over the years we've raised well over a hundred thousand dollars helping kids who don't have clothes and coats or gifts at Christmas time. Our primary charity is United Cerebral Palsy - a local childrens school that each year buys equipment they need to work with the children and enhance their well being.

We also sponsor children at a burn camp each summer. This camp helps kids who have been burned by a fire spend time with other children who have been through the same terrible ordeal.

If you could help out with even a $5 donation, that would help tons!

Im going to organize a cruise for Friday and thought it might be worthy of hitting. No worries I have other ideas in mind.
