yep... Just finished putting in new Butler pushrods... Goin to alignment shop on Thurs, to install the new adjustable outer tie rods, and reset toe... rest of alignment already done, on all new suspension. Installed new fuel reg, and did a little re-plumbing(more to do)... just gotta change oil, new plugs, and clean it up. Serviced trans and replaced missing shifter arm seal(leaked since 2005)... not a drip on the floor, now. Shooting for the 1st 10second timeslip , for the 'Bird, a week from this Wednesday...

02Hawk 04-08-2013 09:25 PM

Waiting for my junk to get assembled....needing wristpins....Pistons from Ross took 2 and half months....then in the car...4 weeks to opening day....

Although with all this global warming....or freezing...coldest day on record here in April...-20C here this morning and below normal for the next 2 to 3 weeks.....we could be weather delayed.

SupergasDil 04-08-2013 09:29 PM

Yes,,,,,
64 Gasser, mounted a line lock yesterday. Tomorrow I'll re route the lines to it and back out along with the wiring. Drag Racing this Saturday at the Tulsa Pontiac Nats.

66 GTO, my brother Darren just thanked me for helping build his 65 Gasser with a $1,500 gift card to Summit Racing for my up coming 50th Birthday. Friggin 50 man. All I can say is I'm glad I still feel and think like I'm 30. Anyway, I just ordered everything I needed to get her going again. Hope to have it rolling this month.

Pearlbluebird 04-08-2013 09:32 PM

Yeah I'm thrashing but not on my junk. I've been so busy at work I've only taken 4 days off since Christmas. Now it's 12 hr shifts 7 days a week. I don't know which end is up or what day it is. I was so busy last year, I only got out 3 times. Hopefully this season will be different. For me, time and money never come together. Usually it's lots of time and no money.

rodneybutler 04-08-2013 10:14 PM

Yes. Been thrashing on two Jr Dragsters tonight! David's daughter, Anniston 13, and my daughter, Marisa 12, got matching Half Scale cars this year. Engines are too big. Had to make restricter plates to slow them down to 7.90 as per rules. Oh, and worked on the bent/broken wheelie bar for the ProMod sat. Again!

Yep, got engine in the car and fired up Saturday. Still have a few things to do before I'm ready to make some passes though. Good luck Mike and Hooter on the dyno sessions. Keep us posted.

grandville455 04-09-2013 07:04 AM

Working on getting convertor changed, fuel pressure gauge installed along with a trans temp gauge, and setting up suspension with new rear DA afco shocks to make some passes on the 20th! :)

Car looks Great Mike!

Front subframe is all done and ready to roll back under the car. Back shell has been stripped, epoxied and should finish up the last of the body work tonight then spray another coat of epoxy. Hopefully early next week I can roll the subframe back under the car then start cutting out the back for the mini tub and remove the roll bar for the new cage. I got a late start to everything (lazy) so I'm shooting to be done by early June. Motor is sitting on the stand ready to go in.
I do have the wife's 74 to race between now and then so its not so bad. Should be taking that out not this weekend but the next. Her car will be getting my old cal traces and split monos as soon as I take them off mine.

Yep I am busy but little jack is just dazed confused and SCEERED that he is going to get "Smaced" so he doesn't know what to post only thing he can think of is "are you drinking"

Cars painted, chassis update to 24.5 done, roll cage and inside painted, scale and weight movement getting done, new hood almost fitted, new fuel system in, new tires. mostly plumbing and wiring left. don't worry lil jack it will be mid summer before I am ready for you so you i rebuilt the entire car so it may take some time to dial in,,,or maybe not you never know.

Last year I smoked my trans. at Norwalk. I fixed that but never got anymore 1/4 runs in due to family and the weather. I just had my carbs setup so I can run the sheet metal intake I made last year and started it last weekend. I just have to change the oil and give the car a bath. The intake is the only change other than fixing the slipping trans. but I think the parachute is going on and 8 second slips are in my future. It's been a ruff ruff winter in many ways. Working 55 hour weeks, taking on a big side project, and chasing women but 2013 is going to be my lucky year!

GTO Dan 04-09-2013 09:25 AM

Started building headers and waiting on parts. Have a date at the chassis shop for a cage upgrade next month and will try to get the new bullet dynoed, hoping to have it all together by Memorial Day. Yesterday I was Looking for some T&T days that would work at Etown (now that Island closed :()

Still shooting for Norwalk, but realized it is the same weekend as my daughter's 18th Bday and then she leaves for college two weeks later so Norwalk plans are far from final.

mike leech 04-09-2013 10:06 AM

Good luck. I hope it exceeds your expectations.

Dyno day reminds me of a first date...filled with anticipation, excitement and some anxiety. While the track is like marriage...you now know exactly what you got. :D

Got mine up & running, Ran great! Now I'm doing a gear change:D

ry57pont 04-10-2013 10:02 AM

8" of snow predicted for tomorrow. i may never get out.

60man 04-10-2013 10:03 AM

Oh well...back to thrashing..
Getting this diaper on full frame car isn't going to be easy...but it should fit fine once there..I hope..
Modifying a AllPontiac bolt on front plate is taking a little time.. A "A" body won't work (IMO) due to motor mount differences..Think I got it do'albe but getting nuts on frame L-bracket will be very limited on space..
Have at it guys..:D

Well...how did it do XSIVPWR..??:)

XSIVPWR 04-10-2013 11:10 AM

I haven't run it all out yet, I raced a S/St & S/G race in Vegas last week so it was throttle stopped. but it ran 11.05 @ 142.5 in S/St & 10.05 at 146. in S/G @ 4100ft. Not to shabby for holding it at 4200rpm for 3 1/2 seconds:D
