As for the water pumps or any other part I always keep an eye on where it is located on account of Sandy. |
Rusty engine
I picked up a 67 1bbl motor a few months back that was in exactly the same condition.
Completely rusty from sitting outside. :( It had been pulled to make room for a 400 transplant. It did have the factory A/C compressor with all the brackets, a dual groove pulley alternator and power steering pump, and a starter. I've been looking for a correct dual groove power steering set-up for quite a while, and it even had the OE ps hoses still attached. :) It was advertised as having a 7 blade fan, but it looks to be a decent, but aftermarket, flex-fan with stainless blades. The bell housing and flywheel were a bonus. It even had the metal inspection cover often thrown away. I bought it mostly for the A/C parts, the power steering pump and the alt & starter. The 1 bbl carb was stuck, but it still retained all the linkage, throttle cable brackets and air cleaner. The motor was stuck, but the cam, followers & cover were in decent shape. The accessory drive and distributor were frozen, but soaking in a bucket of PB freed them up. The carb is still soaking. I kept the crank and rods, but the block didn't look worth saving. However, being Polish, I put it in the back corner of my storage shed "Just in case" |

With A/C and check out the power steering belt set-up. But wait. Isn't that a '68/69 Sprint harmonic balancer peeking out from the underneath shot? Anyway, still a nice looking little machine. |

Yikes...

I'll keep placing these here in the FOR SALE section

At $450 I am surprised that it is still up for sale. Only been sitting, chained up, rusting, frozen solid for a "few years". |
[QUOTE=Jeff Hamlin;5008090]Not sure why some are still being posted up in the TECH section?
Jeff, I was posting in the tech section, as I wasn't sure if we were breaking the rules. It says that "not mine" ads are not allowed. Anyway, I'll post one here and see what happens. I found this on ebay. I'm not sure if anyone has seen it, but this guy has pretty much all the parts to build an engine. Only problem, he's selling them by the piece. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Pontiac-1969-...item53f86c4518 |

OHC 6 cyl

"Believed to be 250 CID. Complete with carb an starter. Great project engine. Condition unknown. Pick up in person only, no shipping available. $100 firm. call Dave 303-478-2376" |

That's a sweet car

What is going on with the linkage on that manifold set?
It looks like they threaded a bolt into one of the throttle bracket bosses and then bent it over to make a mount for a return spring. Also I do not think I have ever seen that kind of throttle rod setup, I am used to seeing A Body throttle cables. I wonder what then engine was used in last? Chris |
its $900 for the engineering and the rest for the manifold
|
|
I went over to look at those last year and he wanted a bit to much,
I see he's come down some. http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/pts/4044152480.html http://desmoines.craigslist.org/pts/4063840763.html |

A little pricey?
Maybe they made a mistake and added an extra 0? ;)

He wanted $400 each last year, I assume that it's $350 each.
But you know what they say... ;) |
Quote:
"asking $175 each or $325 for both" |
Well, now I sure did not read that, looks like I'll be getting 2 engines :D

I kinda Like that 67 Tempest!!!!! Heck the guy in WI wants almost that much $$$$ for the 69 1bbl engine that is just a core.
|
ULTRA RARE TEMPIST
Once, I would let it slide but twice I don't think so...
Hell man it's spelled out on the side of the damn car! http://treasure.craigslist.org/cto/4104000328.html |
And Besides this Tempist has the rare 1bbl OHC-6 Sprint Option and a Chevy Power Glide Trans.
I agree Jeff, It could be a nice car for a little less $$$ than he is asking, but with those pic's you can not tell if it is surface rust or Holes in the car. I would have to see it in person. To bad this one will probably end up as another GTO Tribute car. |
