I heard 28 Pontiac to be judged at MCACN. That means at least 30 Pontiacs at show, as I know 2 that won't be judged...

threefidee 11-18-2013 10:38 AM

Wow, that is great. I hope you are getting your 71 Judged. I wanted to do mine but they want the car kinda like it went from the race track to this display so it will not be possible.

Who has time to Judge all those Pontiacs? Anybody that drives their car their gets 100 points from me....

Pepi 11-18-2013 09:38 PM

I wish I could make it, but too much going on, maybe next year.

On a side note, how did everyone do during the bad storms down there?

RamAir 11-20-2013 06:29 AM

Off to the MCACN today, I'll be in the vintage certified area...Doug

I plan on attending Saturday. Great show, missed it the last couple years, looking forward to seeing some Pontiacs there.

Anybody happen to know what Rosemont charges for parking? Is it still $13?
Trying to decide on public transportation vs driving.

Old Blue 66 11-21-2013 10:55 PM

I know for a fact there will be about a dozen GTO's there. Those are people I know. Who knows how many more will be there. I know I will be - with out a car of course.

real61ss 11-21-2013 11:19 PM

I saw at least 4 1963 Catalina SD cars unloaded today and they said there were one or two more coming.

Nice ride. I was able to check it out. As a matter of fact I may do the vintage certification on my 72 T/A next year.

RamAir 11-28-2013 04:26 PM

Sorry I missed you. The certification process was great!

Mezzo 11-28-2013 04:39 PM

So how did the scoring work and how did you fair?

The car was judged in all 5 areas: Exterior, Interior, Engine Compartment, Underbody, & Trunk. It scored 2173.361 with a potential of 2784.44 which qualified for a Legacy award in Vintage Certification.
The items they deducted were things I was already aware of, windshield replaced, tires, 1 headlight, carpet, sail panels, master cylinder, spark plug wires, battery, starter, water pump, & exhaust (Gardner).
It was a great experience and Steve Shauger and his team were a pleasure to work with and get to know. I saw a lot of the forum members and the Pontiacs were there in full force.

RamAir 11-28-2013 05:05 PM

I almost forgot! My engine is painted the wrong color and has chrome valve covers...lol

What a great show. I took my oldest, 14, he loved it.. It was nice seeing pontiac friends there... I hope to take a car soon........

jonathonar89 12-13-2013 04:16 PM

Wish I could've gone...I attended that event the past two years. Today is my last day working as a driver for a detail shop that services the Stasek dealership (MCAC sponsor). Driven many cars for them.

Hope everyone had a good time and happy holidays.
