When I simulate Kinsler's 8.42 N/A run he has over 2 G's down low
60 Foot ET = 1.1675 330 Foot ET = 3.3967 1/8 Mile ET = 5.3293 1/8 Mile MPH = 126.6948 1000 Foot ET = 7.0071 1/4 Mile ET = 8.4242 1/4 Mile MPH = 159.7267 When I simulate your run you have just a little over 1.5 G's If you get your car to hook like Kinsler's 60 Foot ET = 1.1642 330 Foot ET = 3.2924 1/8 Mile ET = 5.1296 1/8 Mile MPH = 133.3245 1000 Foot ET = 6.7235 1/4 Mile ET = 8.0694 1/4 Mile MPH = 168.1848 Note this is still at 3900 foot DA. Maybe everyone else cannot do the conversion so easily Aaron, some think a Bar is 14.7 psi. Just passing on info. Why would you need a F-2 supercharger if you were only running 8 psi of boost. The board is not all about you, Aaron.

Think I posted that info in Post #15 of this thread (if you care to read it). He runs a Procharger F-2 Supercharger. He played with a F1-R for a little bit but it would not do the job.

During the Vortech/Procharger early days, in the NMCA Super Street class, there were racers who were running 28-30 psi with the Vortech XX Trim Supercharger. The Keens on the other hand were only running 22 psi on the Boost gage because their engine was more Volumetrically Efficient and yet both racers were running the same supercharger and drive tooth count. The Keen engine was "breathing better". Same deal in my mind with the CV-1 head vs the E-Head. Procharger might say it could show 38 psi on a gage but Brian's engine would show closer to 30 psi. Did not think Brian had a flow capacity issue with the CV-1 stuff, always thought there might have been an air/fuel distribution issue when he had problems. Brian has a buddy named Mike who ran a boosted BB Chevy Nova at the same time and even swapping out Mike's carb on Brian's engine did not resolve the issue. They were both Kevin's carbs (identical CSU carbs). Mike did not have issues and was actually faster. (Mike ran a smaller Vortech Supercharger). No Aaron, Brian was not running a Inter-cooler ("Air to Air" or "Water to Air") on his car. Luhn Performance ran a "Water to Air" inter-cooler for their engine testing. Tom Vaught |

Vortech has an "IN HOUSE" Supercharger Mapping Dyno Cell. They can test all of their units for max RPM, Efficiency, Boost Pressures (using a flow measurement device), and obviously Mass Flow in Lbs/min. Procharger did not have that capability any time during the "Super Street Wars" and relied on Dyno HP & Track numbers to calculate supercharger capability of their units. Have photos somewhere of superchargers that failed during track testing (who knows which reason why it failed: overspeed, design issues, using chain drive systems, poor support for the supercharger, etc). They may have a supercharger test cell today. I have not talked to them in several years. Tom Vaught |
