Someone needs to do a pontiac show like this, with more car work and less fooling around. When they show working or talking about the cars, this is the best show.

I was watching the episode where they were trying to find the time line of one of the cars and my wife came in and watched a little of it and said "why would it matter about the time line and who cares" I told her I would love to find the previous owners and talk to them. She had this blank look on her face and asked "really?" She got up and left when I asked her if she could do what Holley was doing.

They certainly do nice work. I just can't stomach the owner (Mark?). And the manufactured drama kills it for me.

Velocity airs the program on Direct TV.

It's on the Velocity channel, about some shop that restores Mopars. I saw about 30 seconds of one episode and it appeared to be the same old fake drama as all the other shows.

The drama is stupid, and theres a lot of it...

But the show itself is actually pretty technical. They know their stuff. Its fun hearing people throw around code names, and production numbers on tv. We only hear that stuff on forums or at shows.

I watched it hit and miss and honestly didn't learn anything car related from it so I never watch anymore.
Every time I tuned in it was a B & M drama session, might be 5 minutes of knowledge in there someplace but I seem to miss it every time.

All of these so called "reality" shows are somewhat less than real.

Sounds like a spin-off of the Ass Monkey and the Count's show. :( And one of those each for both of them.... :( :(

HIGHLY manufactured. I think this is the king of crap. Its really too bad because if your a Mopar guy, you could really learn from the great work they do. The bantering back and fourth is terrible.

They should have shows that actually show the details of what they do to perfect their work. The show in this thread is just a waste.

I like it its better than most of the car shows on tv.

I keep telling myself I need to watch more TV, for some reason it just doesn't compute.

I refuse to watch it. does the network really think all the fake bantering is entertaining!??

Mark the owner knows his sheet about cars in general, Mopars for certain, and seems to have the ability to do anything on these cars, be it engine assembly, bodywork, interior work, etc, etc. The first time i saw the show, I really thought his cockiness was scripted, but I now think he is the most genuine on the show. I love his pet names for the guys and his knowledge of these cars is impressive.

Royal (bald guy) seems to know his sheet, but really is poorly acting.

Josh (tall young kid) is a moron and barely knows what a car is. He seems to be getting better, but I wouldn't want him near a car during assembly

Darren is a piece of sheet and needs a pick axe to his head. I think if I spent any time in that shop I would find a way to smash his face with a sledgehammer. His constant bantering gets under my skin and I yell at the TV during every episode.

I really don't understand how this team can turn out such nice cars. I really believe mark & Royal assemble the cars and the other two idiots are there for the show. I also believe there are several others behind the scenes that assisting finishing these cars.

I am a closet Mopar guy myself and love almost every car they have had on the show. I especially like the '69 A12 Super Bee and the Plum Crazy '70 sunroof Challenger.

The cars are real, the situations are staged. Great work can be undermined by perceptions. I would not want to be part of the circus for any of the these shows, with the exception of Chasing Classic Cars, I think that Wayne Carini is an upfront businessman who truly loves all types of cars. I will say that he deals with a different clientele, and his show may have some scripting to help Mecum Auctions get a plug in, but you listen to him talk about the cars and the people that love them, you know he is a true character, not a script.

P.S. if you want some real treats, check out Rat Rod TV on Youtube (if you haven't already). Those people know how to make cars fun...

I tried watching it today, and couldn't do it. Way too much fake drama. It's like they are marketing this show to women - as if women are interested in building Mopars.

One day I'll have a '69 or '70 roadrunner along side my Poncho in the garage.

What the hell is with Z Z Z Z Z in everything these days - CarZZZZZ, etc.!!!! Zzzzzz used to represent sleep. These new shows do that to me...

I'm a big Mopar fan. Before buying my 68 Firebird I owned a 72 Challenger. It was an original 340, 4 speed car and the previous owner swapped in a modified 69 440 with a Six Pak. He kept the 4 speed with Pistol Grip shifter and added a 4:10 rear. The car was an absolute BEAST and fast as Hell.

I've tried to watch that show and the owner's arrogance drives me nuts. He reminds me of the guy who walks around and acts tough then crumples the first time you punch him in the nose. REAL car experts don't need to pat themselves on the back as much as this guy does.

I tried watching it too. Its not for me. I like watching all car shows but I do not like all the fake drama and the idiot eating popcorn all day on this show.

I like the show since the owner Mark is a purist right down to the mistakes made at the factory.

If you can get past the big mouthed owner , you can learn a little about Mopars. He may know a lot of stuff but,,, If he talked to me once the way he does to those guys his fat little a$$ would be picking it up off the ground. He's rude & has no idea how to talk to anyone with any kind of respect. I would put up with about 1 min. of his mouth & POW he'd be down for the count. Yes I know it's for the show but I have a hard time watching the show lately without turning off the sound.

I'd love to own many Mopars, but they're soooo damn expensive to build or buy.

I'd love a 71 Cuda in black, with black billboards, a black gator grain roof, black rear wing, and a black shaker, all topped off with black color matched bumpers. Oh man... :cool:


I love all the odd things you could get with Mopars. How about those "Mod Top" cars huh? Gator, Turtle, Snake, and Floral print tops with matching interiors.

I would have to say I am too - I grew up in a big Mopar town and although my first musclecar experience was a 69 Voodoo green GTO, my second and longest lasting one was a notorious 71 triple black Hemi Cuda that I got picked up for cub scouts in when it was BRAND NEW....I later got rides to High School in it for most of my senior year.

I expect I'll have one at some point or another, but I'm still on the quest for the perfect set of 68-72 A-Bodies so it will have to wait. ;)

When in high school I worked part time for my friends dad at his Plymouth dealership. Very small town and small dealership. Sold Plymouths and GMC trucks and mostly used cars. I was mostly a gopher from late 69 to early 72. The owner let me spec out a 72 Duster 340 to order that I was thinking about buying. I didn't go crazy on the order sheet and ordered it like it would sell on the lot. IIRC, the only options I ordered were vinyl top, rally wheels, RWL tires, and AM FM radio; and automatic. I ordered a red car. I had decided before it came in that I wasn't going to buy it because I was going to college and I couldn't afford the payments. (If I had only known that I would leave college after only 6 weeks and return to work!) When it came in it was a gorgeous car!

Wheeler Dealers is the best of all those shows in my opinion. The selection of cars are not as appealing as Graveyard Cars but the show itself is better than any of them. There is NO soap opera fake drama and fully 75% of the show is the actual work being done on the cars.
One guy searches out and buys the car...could be from Europe, Asia, America or anywhere at all... and the other guy does all the repair work except what can't be done in the shop. He does an excellent job of explaining the work as well.
What they don't do in the shop is contracted out and most of that is shown as well. You get to see things like what happens in a re-chroming shop, brake re-lining shop, etc.
Once it's all done, the guy that bought the car meets a buyer and they strike a deal.
Undoubtedly, it's scripted but it's done very tastefully with NO drama, fake deadlines, etc.
I do like Graveyard Cars fairly well but I just don't like the fake drama.
