Off Road for 34 years this 67 goat

I bought this car around the corner from my home last year, it was taken apart 34 years ago in 74 and was on 4 jack stands all that time. not bad for a year and two months in the Original vinyl top was two nice to take off.

Wow! That's looking great!

Nicks67GTO 09-21-2014 02:29 AM

Wow! That was a quick turnaround!

How clean was the body? In a garage on jacks for 34 years it had to have been pretty clean?

Jeff Hamlin 09-21-2014 08:05 AM

Great looking project!
Is silver the original color?

Bought my 1st '67 in almost the same situation and color combo, sliver w/black vinyl.

Whats the back story on it? i.e. why was it taken out of service?

The Boss 09-21-2014 08:26 AM

DAMN! I like that a whole lot better in the silver!

Looks like it was. Notice the silver paint where the rocker and wheel opening trim were on the car for the red paint job.

That's a fantastic looking '67, very nice work. I like both looks of the wheel combos, what size tire and black steel rim on the rear?

6 Grrrs 09-21-2014 10:14 AM

Looks very nice.

GT182 09-21-2014 11:47 AM

Sweet lookin 67! Enjoy the hell out of it. You got a really good one. I love the color too.

Let me know if a set of those 15" Cragars are for sale. I need a pair to replace a set of 14s I have on my 66 GTO.

geeteeohguy 09-21-2014 01:06 PM

1974 would make it 40 years, much longer than 34!! Looks like the right person got the car..looking very, very nice. Keep us posted on the progress!!

rare4k 09-21-2014 01:13 PM

Thanks all, and yes its a real silver-glaze car P2
(Jeff Hamlin) he was going to make a race car out of it, got married, built a house, got divorced, I think drinking had a lot to do with it see first pic. I think the car being at he parents house save it, all parts were there motor heads everything.
(Nicks67gto) the body was super nice no floor rust or trunk rust even the back window had no rust, that why I left the Original vinyl top on it. we did very little repair on lower quarters

Thanks, now how about the redlines 14" or 15"? Curious as I have a set of 14s and wondering if there are any decent tires for them out there any more.
The Camaro looks tough!

rare4k 10-22-2014 12:58 PM

I have both 14" Original to the car and 15 rally Ones, the one's on the car now are the 15" with G7015 redlines,

Greg Reid 10-22-2014 01:21 PM

Love the redlines with that color paint. Gorgeous car.

The Boss 10-22-2014 02:49 PM

That's coming along nicely!

Old Blue 66 10-22-2014 04:33 PM

Its certainly rare that you find one with all the parts in that shape. Nice work.

troy_barker 10-23-2014 09:32 AM

sweet love the car, good job

GT182 10-23-2014 11:30 AM

If you ever decide to sell the Cragars let me know. Looking for 2 15x7s or 8s.

Looks great with that color. Can't wait to see it all back together. Awesome car.
