Looks real nice. It's a V8 car?
4 cyc 1 bbl and 3 speed. The lady must have liked shifting! With the options it had to be a special order car.Tom
Nice clean looking car. Whats your plan Tom?
my plan is to get it running, clean it up,drive for awhile, show it as a survivor at local shows and let the next owner deal with paint and top.Interior is unbelievable.Padded dash with no cracks, deluxe wheel with a couple in the hub and one in the clear.Tom
Interior
For a 4 cylinder manual transmission car, it has the most deluxe interior I have seen. And the interior looks to be in excellent condition. Good score, Tom.
The interior is the only thing that got me to buy it!I need a project like another wife!Tom
great ride love the interior
Round taillight vert is somewhat rare to begin with. Add black with tri-blue interior, stick and survivor status -- fugetaboutit!
Padded dash?!?!? I didn't even know they had them on this car! Great score Tom! That thing looks great!
Nice find.
Just goes to show not all Northern Cars are rust buckets. Can't say I've seen a floor shift '63. Is that the correct shifter? |
Padded dash, custom wheel -- correct options for the car and unusual for a 1bbl 195 car. Manual choke is standard on stick cars. Shift knob should be round with standard 3 spd H pattern. Will you pull PHS on it, Tom?
Dave, there is a plain blk shift knob in the glove box.The handle is somekind of auto shifter.I might pull the PHS just for history. All 61-63 stick shift cars are floor shifters as far as I know.Tom

Very cool indeed.
Ever since I put my buddies '63 back together I've really become fond of that body style. How bad is the 1/4? |
Nice find Tom, good luck with it!
shifter
I think manual transmissionTempests came with a painted shift lever and plain black knob, while manual transmission Lemans came with a chrome shift lever and white knob. Can anyone shed some light on this?
on this car the handle is blk and the original ball is blk with no pattern.Tom
I couldn't recall the shifter/knob style.
Don't recall ever seen any with the shift pattern. While looking in my file I did come across this '63 Lemans with the white plain knob. |
Bored Tom?
Not enough fishing & skiing to keep you busy now that the NASCAR V is done? ;) |
The interior sucked me in!Hunting season over, shooting clays on tue, fishing wed.I will squeak in a little car work.Damn I hate myself.I needed this car like another wife!Tom
Very cool & fun looking car! It is crying for a V8!

My 11 year old son and I love shooting trap! We wish We had more time between other kid activities to do more of it. |
We shoot everything.I shoot serious trrap. We play at screw your buddy,I pull for you and you pull for me ay sporting clays. Our new game is the wobble trap and a low house skeet. You shoot 2 pair and a single at each trap station and you dont know what your getting. We make a lot of noise but dont break that many.If you have a day to kill come up the BBB and shoot with us on tue.We have lunch and then shoot a few rounds.I shoot a model 12 for serious trap,my Kriegoff for double trap and sometimes sporting clays.Been shooting my duck gun lately for skeet,wobble,5 stand and sporting.A beretta explorer light.Tom
Would get you out of the snow and into some warm sun!Tom
We are in the middle of about 2.5 weeks of cold. Temps are not predicted to go much above 20 for the next week and a half. It's been a brutal stretch even for Michigan.
I shoot a Beretta 686 at trap and would likely shoot my Benelli Montefeltro at Skeet if I ever do more of it. Shooting clays is one of my favorite things to do. I'm not great at it, but do enjoy it. My 11 year old has a soft shooting 20ga semi auto that is so soft he can shoot 4-5 rounds of trap in a single morning. He loves it too. Kip |
I also have a 687 combo trap gun but almost never shoot it.Just love my Beretta A400 Xplore.Tom

Well, waiting for a motor mount and carb linkage from Dave and it should be ready to fire up and breakin the cam. There might be light at the end of the tunnel. Now the hardest deal.getting it painted.Tom
It's going to be a slick ride.
Dave, the thing that has amazed me is not one 61-63 tempest guy has asked about the valve cover!I would have thought there would have been a couple WTF?Tom
Not easy to see the stack without looking at every detail. At least not in that picture.
Post 35 REAL easy.Tom
Yeah, it's obvious in that one.
Tom the valve cover is a SD unit, right!
No.One I made up.Had a Xtra stack around and my friend has a fixture to install it.Stacks are avail from Barry Martin. There are guys on this site that have had me make up 61 SD and 63 HO covers for them.I just thought it would be cool to install one on a 61-63 cover as they have a unique angle.Tom
Well it ALIVE!Got it fired up today and broke in the cam.ZERO issues. No water, fuel or oil leaks. The engine was built with the BOP 1 pc rear main seal. Now to get it painted!Tom
Let's hear it, Tom!
I have it on my phone but dont know how to post from it.Tom
Text it to me Tom, I'll load it up with your other videos.
