You must have missed the chit talking in the reTOOL cv1 thread.

We are supposed to race on the track and not the dyno, right?

Too long, it's worse then Star Wars!

JSPONT 06-24-2015 12:40 PM

Lil Jack has been testing, I don't know if Fulton has been, no chatter on him.

john marcella 06-24-2015 01:20 PM

Well there is a CV no show tradition, but i would like to think Fulton would be the one to break that tradition.

Tom Vaught 06-24-2015 09:18 PM

If Dick can make it to the track, it will be a good show one way or the other.

With the motor in the car right?

So you tried a pair of fancy 4150s a pair of dominators and a high dollar spread bore dominator. Sounds like you threw everything at it except the kitchen sink.

A little bird told me it has a dry sump on it and a fancy Star Vaccum pump too.

Jim

You of course do realize he built his car for 1/8 mile racing series? Right?

You guys can insist all you want that jacks "affraid" but i dont think so. Frankly he has little to gain from a win IMO unless its a donkey stomping(i personally don't expect that). He stands to lose little either but his pride and 1 engine builder "may" have a wounded ego.

On the other hand if the other camp does not show....oh boy the shame. Or if they lose. Its a whole village that will be crushed. If they win they will all change their sigs and get drunk for 2 weeks strait celebrating. The rest will just smirk.

But its entertaining so carry on. If fulton wins i will stand in line and buy bill, jim, and dick ice cream.

Turbo Bill would make a good farmer.

Always counting his "Chickens before they are hatched", heaping on the fertilizer and counting the bushels per acre before the corn is out of the ground, braying like a jackass
in the farm lot before the race with the camel.

The camel COULD kick you a$$, then what would you do TTB?

Most JUST WANT TO SEE A CV-1 HEADED ENGINE MAKE SOME REALLY GOOD POWER AT NORWALK - AFTER YEARS AND YEARS OF TALKING

Fulton and Mike Leech work hard and have a high success rate so here is your chance.
(Don't screw it up).

Tom V.

With Fulton involved you have a very good chance to be in the winners circle.

So how many passes are the guys going to run 1/8th AND 1/4 mile?

Mike pick up a nice ET reduction after adding a BIG hood scoop and losing 200 lbs , 8'0's is flying. Im sure I will still be able to enter the KRE Q16 and the bracket races no matter what Mike runs, it also didn't stop me from racing in 2 races last week! By the way how's your racing going or have you just turned into a TEST & TUNE racer? LOL!!!

Actually 2 handicaps, eheads and naturally aspirated

mike leech 06-27-2015 04:19 PM

Actually 3, small tires

I thought the 8-71 blower was the handicap in this matchup (Leech vs George race)

Just might be! :bolt:

No offense intended George. I think a 14-71 might be better than overdriving the 8-71.(Think turbo instead George)

As a bracket car it does what its supposed to, run consistant and reliably. That is what Georges build was intended to do, not intended to be a heads up racer.

Tom Vaught 06-27-2015 09:29 PM

If George could figure out how to fit TTB under the hood, he could make some serious Boost (Hot Air) really work for him with the methanol fuel George likes to run. ;)

#18,638 posts plus the 5891 posts I lost a few years ago that you (in your vast wisdom) were not aware of TTB.
Funny, no one has even hear of you being involved in ANY boosted Twin Turbo engine project, Bill. Much less collect some "wood' for the knowledge.

Yes Bruce 14-71 would make it quicker and turbos ARE boring, I'm very limited on how much BOOST I can run BUT like you said it is only a Bracket car. The Pro Gas class I've been running in the Nostalgia Races all use 8-71 (BIG Block Chevy's, BB Fords & some BB Mopars and they all seem to be light under 3,000 lbs) and Im running with them. I didn't build as a Dyno Queen or Test & Tune car like a couple on this PY board............I race it in Competition!!

GTO George

Tom Vaught 06-28-2015 11:05 AM

Yep, Turbos are boring. Full body 70 Camaro match racing (WITH TURBOS), and he isn't even close to the record.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKuicpkm08I

And the dairy boys with their light aze rollerskate "Pontiac World Champion" dragster were how fast, George?

and this Twin Turbo Door car is 40 MPH faster than the dairy boys dragster.

Mike, did not just pic up from dropping 200# and a scoop. I hope you know better then that?

Also, I hope you dont think Im just a test and tune racer. it has taken a little longer then what I thought to get a handle on the suspension and getting the gearing and tune squared away nut I think we have that all squared away.

GTO George

I have said it to their face too. So bite me George.

You are an old guy living in the 60s mindset who wants to remain there "as a racer" because you are comfortable with driving an low 8 second car. Just admit it. Most of the other Pontiac people have. Travis Q will be the first to tell you they are not competitive against a 275 MPH car today. Travis can at least admit that there are Other Cars that he tunes that are a lot faster vs the "fastest" pontiac guys as their "Banner Guy(s)".

I learned early on that the Pontiac GTO was not a Ford GT-40 or a Shelby Cobra.
They were World Class Racers.

So I bought a 64 GTO and kept it all these years. It is a piece of metal. We only have 10 cars (like mine) in the Registry out of the whole group of 64 GTO owners in the world.
BFD. It is a car I bought 50 years ago. I stopped living in the past a long time ago.

I can acknowledge that there are faster race cars today than any time in racing history.

Get over it Grandpa, put a rocking chair in your 74 Nova and go for a ride down the track. The Ford GTs I worked on could run 200 mph and be driven on the street.

So when I post up some current level race stuff and say that the current heroes are not Gods, don't get such a hard-on about someone telling the truth, even though you do not want to acknowledge it. Tired of your BS, your excuses, and your constant name calling.

Tom V.

ps You trash others constantly that are working hard to go quicker. Every year you talk big and at the end of the day still run the same times. Good for you that you still want to drive a race car, just lay off of the guys who are trying to do better than you, George, who post on the board too. Your name calling, Muppets, etc gets old. Shortly Mike L will be in the 7s, you will still be trying to figure it out because your Nostalgia EGO will not let you accept knowledge from others.

Mikes running 8.0's which is flying...............but to say he didn't pick up at least 2-2.5 tenth from the weight and scoop is silly. When is your next race?

Tom,
Seriously..............another one of your GARBAGE post! You haven't said nothing to no-one that isn't your STYLE, your more of a behind the someone's back tyoe of guy. Going FAST is a MONEY thing, Im retiring next year.........thats where my Money is going, that and a trip to Hawaii and Disneyland! :) Yes I"m very comfortable going 8.0"s to 8.30's........NO breakage, I like that keeps me RACING!! Racing is FUN try it some time LOL!! Now Im busy getting my car ready for its next race.

GTO George

The Farmers from Ohio ALREADY now exactly how I feel about their performance.d. I just say that there are OTHERS who are a LOT faster and you get your panties in a knot.

You need to get one thing straight. When I post my comment I know it is going to 38,000 people on the board. If the "other people" don't want to sneak a peek, so be it but if you run to them and tattle like a little kid then so be it.

"Going FAST is a MONEY thing", no chit George, Doh! Which is why I hooked up with racers who had large disposable incomes for racing. I spent their money, not mine. They all seemed to be very happy at the end of the day.

Good for you that you are taking the wife to Hawaii and Disneyland!

"Yes I"m very comfortable going 8.0"s to 8.30's........NO breakage, I like that keeps me RACING!!"

I honestly could give a ... about racing in 2015, once you have driven in the Baja 1000, driven on the Salt Flats, driven a Ford GT 200 mph on a 5 mile test track, the rest of it is samo samo. Would maybe spend some cash to do a Hill Climb with Johnny at some point but that may never happen.

So you get ready for your next race, I personally would rather do a little fly-fishing on a quiet stream vs watch some guy like you "race". By the way, you ought to write a book
"20,000 reasons why I was never fast". I only needed one, there are a lot better ways to spend my minutes on this earth.

Tom Vaught

GTOGEORGE 06-28-2015 07:37 PM

Sounds like your given me 20,000 reasons why you cant build your your own drag car! No doubt about it you're good at spending others racers money and riding on their coat tails. By the way Tom going quick is all relative, what's quick tol one racer say 7.50's would be slow to someone like John Force!
If you can't race then you WOULD rather do something else (something like fishing).......makes sence to me. LMAO!!

GTO George

Tom Vaught 06-28-2015 07:49 PM

Only need one George, it is like 19,999 on the bottom of the list.

Yep, I ride on others coattails, spend their money, etc.

Funny how they keep sending me tickets to get on that airplane and go some where to help them out. Sure bumps up the frequent flyer miles.

Speaking of John Force, I was lucky enough to spend some time with him at a couple of Ford events. Not race events, social events where you can talk to the guy one on one for a few hours.

I felt really sorry for the guy because he was under a tremendous amount of pressure to do well for his sponsors. Nervous wreck most of the time. Worrying constantly if they were going to cut his race contracts. And at the end of the day, we did.

So I feel sorry for the guy, because he was human, not some GOD that you make him out to be. You really don't have a clue, George, talking out of your aze when you really don't have a clue. I wasted enough time with you and your lack of knowledge as a racer.

Tom Vaught
Tom V.

GTOGEORGE 06-28-2015 08:12 PM

I know how you have conversations with people you corner them where they can't get away and you start talking......of course it's one sided.........FUNNY! You have a quiet fishing day.

stroker461 06-28-2015 08:59 PM

Thanks for posting those videos tom, Steve Petty is the man when it comes to turbo cars, ive known him for many years, then my machinists Keith Swafford ( Swafford Competition) does alot of machine work for PLR and tim lynch ect. There all good guys and know there chit when it comes to making cars go fast, just like lynch and petty Vette ran 6.26@ 232mph on a 10.5" slick, travis knows his stuff too, just gotta go with steve since ive known him for many years and local

Tom Vaught 06-28-2015 09:09 PM

No problem, Mr Stroker461. Keith S, Tim Lynch, Travis and others are very good resources.

By the way, George, Mr Travis Quillen has gotten on a plane and flown to other places to help people get their combination dialed in, like Austrailia. So you going to bad mouth Travis, just like you did me, because he doesn't drive a race car and gets on a plane to help others on their dime? Come on George, you don't like non racers right?

Tom V.

stroker461 06-28-2015 09:29 PM

Steve Petty does the same as travis flys over to other countries to tune turbo cars and he as well doesn't race but damn sure knows how to make them goes fast 5.46@ 272mph thats pretty damn fast, he also tunes and crew chief for Troy Coughlin's turbo charged Vette

GTOGEORGE 06-28-2015 09:46 PM

Camaro's are very fast!!!!!!

GTO George

Tom Vaught 06-28-2015 09:50 PM

Agree, Very, Very Fast. So fast you could probably run the quarter mile, get out of your car, light a fire, cook some burgers, have a little wine, and watch some TV before that 8 second Nova went by. ;) So come on George, bad mouth Steve Petty, Travis and Keith do not drive, big boy, where is your badmouth for them.

Tom V.

I think you are just full of ENVY George.
