What type of camshaft are you running in your street Pontiac?

Current engine being built is getting a 70's era Crane solid flat tappet with mushroom lifters. Over 400 lift at the lobe with a 1.65 rocker.

Mine will be a solid roller. Engine is in the build stage right now. I like my hotrod car a little on the extreme side.

Old Crane solid roller version of the RAIV/041. Isn't made any more but I got it cheap so decided to give it a go and it works pretty good!

I have in my car right now the Crane Blue Print RA IV cam, & I've used this cam in the last 4 engines I've built. This cam is the same cam that is / was in my 462, 455 + 30 over. With E-heads performer RPM intake, RA IB cam , 1:65 rolloer tip rockers, Eagle H-beam rod, SRP forged pistons, Crane anti-pump up lifters, dbl roller chain & gears, Eagle cast crank, Pertronix Ign., 8mm Taylor wires, & topped off with an 800 cfm Q-jet,(tricked out) & an M22 with 3:73 rear end,RA IV cast iron exhaust manifolds, in my 73 GTO & it went 11:72 @ 122 mph. This was done on street radial tires.

My cam is SFT. CC 290b6, sounds great on a 106lsa but I might go roller over the winter. I like a cam that shakes the car siting next to me,but want the performance to back up the nasty idle.

I've got the Crower 60243 HFT in my 9.5 to 1 462.

Was a solid roller, 248/254 .625 114 Crower, machinist/builder talked me into a XE288HR (236/242 .520/.540 110) on a refresh, unsure if I will run it or not.

SR in mine. Comp XE Street Roller lobes. 254/260 @ .050. 112 LSA and 108 ICL. Right at .650 net lift.

HFT in the wife's 76 T/A with my old 400. Lunati Voodoo 10510703 227/233 @ .050. 110 LSA and 106 ICL. Right at .500 lift.

Solid flat tappet in my 9.4:1 462

HR in my GTO and '68 Bird…but I'm getting really tired of playing wac-a mole with lifters so not sure what will end up in my Formula's 535.

Nunzi spec solid flat-tappet in my 428 with 722 heads.

hyd rollers in 2 engines,one with solids on it soon to be changed to hyd.2 with hyd flat tappets.Tom

Lunati BMII in the GTO at the present time. New engine will have a HFT Ultradyne 280-288 that I have been saving for several years. With slightly worked 670 heads should be nice street engine. Can't afford a HR so have to use what I've got.

I really liked my 60310 SFT but recently swapped it out for an "old faithful" clone from PKMM. Saving up for a set of Crower solid roller lifters w/HIPPA. Hope to be up and running in the spring.

UltraDyne Hyd. Roller from Bullet Cams.

Flat tappet hydraulics in both GTO's: Sig Erson HI Flo I in the '65 since 1981 and still going strong, and a Melling 068 in the '67 since 1990 and still going strong. Both USA made cams and lifters, before quality went down the tubes.

I have an HC02, a couple of 2802's and an Old Faithful Hyd Roller.

Using HFT Bullet #307000 234/[email protected]

Comp Solid Roller, duration at .050 269/279, lift with 1.65 roller rockers .719 / .727, 110 lobe separation.

Comp XE Solid roller 242 248 on 110LSA. Right around 600 lift.

Previously ran the old HFT UD 280 288 on a 112 - great street cam.

Comp Xr 288hr 236 242 ground on a 112 lobe for supercharger..

78's 455 Lunati/Ultradyne when Harold was there 296/304 on a 112 HFT.

New motor for the '81 455 is a Stump Puller,Comp S HR lifters.

Ultradyne solid roller.
273- 280 at .050
106 lsa
.626 lift with 1.5 rockers in a .065 over 400
Intake degreed to 100 atdc

Now I did have an US 259//262 solid roller in the 78 before the current motor and drove it some on the street, but I'm thinking that 273/280 on a 106 is not a good 'street" motor roller.

I hope it doesn't scare the feeble ones or pollute the air to much Skip.

Crower 60243 / 461 / 9.6 to 1... Im happy with it.

Crower 60210 229/239 @.050 480/500 with 1.50 rockers 108 LSA 406 #12 heads.

We use to run OldFaithful Hyd Roller, Now both Cams are Road Paver Hydraulic Roller from Dave at SD Performance

Comp XE268H in .030 over 400 with #62 Butler ported heads @ 9.5.

HFT in old motor; 296/305 ;246/253 at 050, HR Road Paver in new motor. Looking for more power, higher vacuum, and better idle with roller.
