Eric White in the hospital - has passed

I'm am sorry to report that PY member Eric White (gtoric) had a massive stroke last night and is in the hospital. I do not know any specifics beyond the fact that his condition is considered serious.

I will keep you all apprised of any changes.

We (the Widetrackers chapter and his friends) appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the heads-up, Keith.

Prayers on the way for Eric and his family. One of the nicest and most knowledgeable Pontiackers I've ever known!

David Jones 03-18-2016 11:47 AM

Gods strength to Eric and his caregivers.

Old Blue 66 03-18-2016 11:51 AM

WOW!!! Please keep the updates coming. Eric is a super great guy and a very under rated historian in the hobby. He really knows his stuff.

Prayers for him.

Only had the pleasure of being with Eric a few times. Hoping for a swift recovery and another chance to share his company again.

Keith

If you could let us know what hospital. Would like to send a card.

When he was in MN I got to know him well enough that he actually came to my home in Wisconsin one time to go through a ton of Pontiac literature that I had acquired from my dad.

After he moved to MI, we drove up from the NASCAR race in MI to have dinner with him one night. I think that last visit was about 10 years ago.

One of the classiest Pontiac guys ever!

Keith Seymore 03-18-2016 05:11 PM

Thanks, everyone -

Terrible News!

Thoughts and prayers got out to Eric and his family.

Sunday (3-20-15) marks a year since I had my stroke. A very small one, but it shocked me to the ground. I seem to be fully recovered for now.

The type of stroke Eric seems to have had is going to be very tough. I pray for him that he can bounce back over time.

Regards, Chris.

fyrffytr1 03-18-2016 10:21 PM

Prayers sent for Eric and all affected by this.

Jerry H. 03-18-2016 11:35 PM

Just reading this as I'm getting ready to go to a memorial service for Denny Sanford, former President of the SEGTOA who succumbed to the complications of a stroke last week.

Prayers going up for you Eric.

Very sorry to hear this. Harder to take when its so sudden.
Goes without saying, Eric made great contributions to our hobby. I have Eric's book and several framed pieces of his artwork, the latter of which hang prominently in my house. All gifts from my wife.

Godspeed Eric. Maybe we'll meet again on the other side.

Jerry H. 03-19-2016 09:13 PM

Another one of the 'Good guys' gone. May he Rest in Peace.

400 4spd. 03-19-2016 09:15 PM

So sorry to hear that Eric has passed. Some of you have lost a friend, all of us have lost a huge contributor of our Pontiac hobby.
R.I.P. Eric White.

68gtoMN 03-19-2016 09:28 PM

I have had the pleasure of calling Eric my friend since 1986. As many others have testified, Eric was a passionate car enthusiast, historian, collector, story-teller and one of the most decent people a person might ever be lucky enough to meet. I just exchanged emails with Eric this past week regarding our Muscle Car Classic Show and I am saddened to have lost a friend so much before we could imagine he would be called home

There will be a void in our hearts and our hobby. For those who never met him personally, you missed one of "the good guys". I say not farewell; rather, until we meet again.

gtojim73 03-19-2016 09:46 PM

I just heard about Eric early this evening from a very good friend. This is a very, very sad day in not only the Pontiac community, but the old car hobby in general.

Eric was one of the most active, well liked, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Pontiac and general car person I have had the pleasure of knowing. Also one Great illustrator. He will be greatly missed. Prayers go out to his family!! R.I.P. Eric

I never met Eric in person, but I had some very nice phone conversations with him talking about the details of the early GTO's.

Everytime I hung up the phone I would think....he is one heck of a nice gentleman.

He left an empression on me for his ear and his knowledge!

His awesome "Illustrated Identification Guide" book is the best GTO publication out there!

Huge Loss.

Chris.
