POCI

Anyone going to the POCI convention next month in Quad Cities? I'm bringing the Lucy Blue 72 and the rolling cooler... :beerchug:

Judge273 06-28-2016 06:38 AM

Going all week? Thinking of heading that way for Friday. Towing my 71 Judge.

Red Goat 06-28-2016 08:45 AM

Hey Mike, I'll arrive on Wed afternoon and will be leaving Sat afternoon. Love to see the Judge if you bring it down. Cheers!

threefidee 06-28-2016 09:21 AM

I will be there Friday and for the show Saturday. Bringing the blue car.

Jody

Rocky Rotella 06-28-2016 09:41 AM

I'll be there Fri and Sat, Tim. I'm looking forward to seeing your car and having the chance to meet you in person.

Jody, has Pat Brown spoken with you?

pontiacs4ever1971 06-28-2016 10:06 AM

I will be having people over to the building Friday night for beers.

Red Goat 06-28-2016 04:53 PM

Look forward to seeing some old friends and meeting some new ones!

It's a good thing! Looking very forward to taking in the GTOAA convention in Seattle and spending the week there assisting with the Concours program. I never meant to convey that I would not be satisfied in Seattle...

My frustration is in the fact that both conventions overlap and as a person that recently has been attending both...it sucks that I can't spend time with good folks at the POCI convention as well. Have met many good Pontiac people over the last 7-8 years and thoroughly enjoy every chance we have to meet up. Maybe I'm the only individual this effects (along with sponsors and VIPs) but I have a sneaky suspicion that I'm not. Having been part of hosting 3 nationals in the last 7 years, I know what it takes and hope both conventions are successful. I'll stand behind my view that they have potential for greater success if the dates don't overlap. ...off my soapbox. It takes forward thinking and planning along with a good volunteer base to avoid scheduling issues. 1 group is in front of the other when it comes to convention planning.

Rocky,

Yes. I will PM you.

Jody

Red Goat 06-29-2016 11:44 AM

I hear you Doug. It would be nice if the conventions didn't overlap. I wouldn't go to them both every year, but it'd be nice to have the option every now and then.

Maybe I'll see you at the TA Nats this year.

Cheers,
Tim

See you there,
Steve Johns

Red Goat 07-06-2016 12:17 AM

Sounds like a pretty decent group going. I look forward to meeting some of you guys that I haven't met before.

Keats 07-16-2016 11:34 AM

Look great

Car looks great. Thanks for bringing it

Norwood 07-16-2016 11:41 AM

It was great seeing all the PY brothers at POCI the last couple of days. I enjoy seeing everyone just as much or more than the cars. Everyone get home safe.

Brewster 07-16-2016 08:59 PM

Thanks to Tim, his family and friends for a great evening Friday night. Awesome people and nice cars made this trip a great one. The car turn out was a little lower then normal but with the GTOAA going on at the same time we all know why.
Made it home safe but after one flat tire on my trailer and a bee sting from a kamikazes intruder it made it a little more memorable than normal.
Cheers to all and thanks to Rocky for some killer pics. Burton I hope you got what you where looking for and David that Ram Air IV first gen vert was quit a sight.

threefidee 07-17-2016 12:07 PM

It was great to meet you both (Norwood and Brewster....and Redgoat also) at Tim's party. I should not have mixed 3 different beers and all of those Tim concoctions.....LOL

Jody

Norwood 07-17-2016 12:10 PM

Jody, that's why I stay with the Siver Bullet. Pontiac people are good people

Red Goat 07-18-2016 12:52 AM

We had a great time. Always a hoot to hook up with the trio from up North! I think Nic learned a few new sayings!!!

Met some fantastic folks as well, Rocky, Jody, Ron and Tim from the boards.

Tim, It was great to meet you and thanks again for your hospitality Friday night. Remind me again what you call those little peppers you sent me home with?

All in all, a great week. The people you meet make the event even more than the cars do!

Cheers,
Tim

Red Goat 07-18-2016 12:57 AM

Hey Brew, Sorry to hear you had trailer troubles on the trip home.

I don't know how we scored in the judging. We left town as soon as the car show wrapped up on Saturday. I needed to be back in Denver tonight and never would have made it if we'd stayed for the banquet.

See you in Dayton next month!

Cheers,
Tim

Cheers,

Tim, I did not go either but POCI on facebook had a live feed that I watched with all the award winners. You scored at least 390 out of 400 as you were awarded a Junior Gold award.

Congratulations !

Jody

Norwood 07-18-2016 10:03 AM

Very deserving. Great car Tim

pontiacs4ever1971 07-18-2016 11:49 AM

pontiacs4ever1971 07-19-2016 10:14 AM

Red Goat 07-19-2016 12:04 PM

Awesome! Thanks Jody for letting me know. I figured I'd have to wait until awards were shipped out to absent owners.

Look forward to seeing you all at a car show down the road!
