Still available:
This GTO was built on 3/11/1969 and shipped to Murray & Holt Motors in Bend Oregon, where it was ordered by an individual from Reno Nevada where it remained for many years. This particular car was custom ordered in the ultra-rare Palladium Silver exterior with blue interior combination. Notable factory options include Ram Air IV engine, close-ratio M21 4-speed transmission, HD Safe-T-Track rear axle, 3.90:1 gears, Rally II wheels, Soft Ray Glass, and an AM radio.
According to history, the original owner enjoyed street racing in the desert outside of Las Vegas and sadly, the original engine was destroyed within months of taking delivery. Fortunately however, a date correct WW engine was sourced for the restoration. A complete restoration was performed two years ago. The car was completely disassembled for restoration. Any sheet metal that had rust was replaced. A fresh coat of the correct Palladium silver paint was applied with three coats of clear. The blue bucket seat interior was restored using factory correct materials. The Ram Air IV engine assembly was professionally built and verified by engine builder Paul Spotts with modern internals including a roller valve train. The transmission was professionally rebuilt, case bead blasted and cleared. Everything on this car has been restored, dated and detailed.
Additional options that were added during the restoration were power steering and power brakes for safety, and an original rear spoiler. Included in the sale is a complete set of the PHS paperwork for both the car and engine, PMD window sticker, build sheet, Protect-O-Plate, warranty card from selling dealer, and original dealer sales contract. Asking $65,000 OBO

I love this car! need to sell two cars to afford this one. :(

eaglesan13 11-27-2016 09:47 PM

I've always thought that silver with blue interior is a beautiful color combo, and I'm surprised it is not more common. Damn nice car, good luck with the sale.

I am pretty sure that this is the car that Gregs GTO's had for a while? I don't remember if he ended up restoring it or not. Great color combo! Good luck with the sale.

It is Jeff - it's the one he raced down the track at Norwalk and the rear window blew out. ;)

It was brought East from Oregon by Gary Cave who I gave a $2,500 deposit to for it in 1999, but then got divorced and it was a couple years before I could get back to him with the balance. He decided to consider my deposit storage and quickly sold it on e-bay to another guy in VA who then sold it to Greg. At the time I gave the deposit on it, the complete motor was still with the car, although apart & damaged.

I still have two carbon sheets with the terms of the sale on it on his printed form - PM me your address if you want me to mail one out to you to keep with the car.

Good material for a country and western song.

Price was lowered to 65K or BO. I'm willing to consider "reasonable " cash offers and possibly even trades for a 69 auto judge or 70 HO auto convertible.

I've got a 69 Judge I would possibly trade, but it is a 4 speed. Anything else on trades?

goat1964-2004 12-07-2016 07:16 PM

Trade needs to be an automatic car. Gotta keep the wife happy!

Island Boy 12-21-2016 04:33 PM

I had the car but did not restore it. Got restored in Texas I think. Actually owned it twice. Blew back window out at Norwalk racing Bruno's RAIV GTO. Blew out 3/4 way down the track at 90 plus mph and didn't get even a scratch on it. Landed flat in the grass beside the track!

goat1964-2004 12-21-2016 07:01 PM

You got any old pictures of the car? I tried to find some from Norwalk but no luck.

70L34 12-21-2016 10:38 PM

Great car, love the color combo, GLWS

Island Boy 12-29-2016 11:00 AM

Car was in primer. Engine compartment and RAIV engine was freshly rebuilt. Heard that guy in Michigan that had car after me took IV engine out and put in ra3 engine. Too bad as that was one of the strongest running RAIV engines I ever had-and I had a lot of RAIV cars.

goat1964-2004 12-29-2016 06:55 PM

The RA IV that's in it now is a beast! Paul Spotts did a awesome job.
