2018 predictions?
 

Does anyone want to put it out there before it happens? Im hoping to make a 7 second pass with a new engine combo.

That would be cool. We need more fast Pontiacs.

I'm not sure 2018 Predictions thread is politically correct anymore. Too many people pic on the CV1 guys and they have to go to there safe space.

Care to share your combo?

525 in all aluminum wide port engine on spray. Race weight under 2700 pounds.

Doesn't seem like a big deal to run 7.90 at 2700 pounds when that purple monster is in the 20s a thousand pounds heavier. That's going to take more than I have to top for sure.

#10 The Purple pile of chit will run new personal best both 1/8 and 1/4
#11 King Kinsler will be a ultra street badass again in his new "ultra lite" ride

Going try and break a 8 sec pass @ approximately 3500 lbs.

Yes Brian. It ended up being the pick up for the crank trigger and I switched to a different carb.

My prediction is the new Tiger heads will be available. :)

If I base predictions for my hemi four cylinder on the s..l..o..w progress of the last few years-
2018 will see dyno time, followed by massive re-thinking, re-working, etc.
2019 ???

I'm hoping to run better than my 7.81 at Pontiac Heaven in Phoenix in February. We'll see. I've never made it down that track in a fast car yet, for a variety of reasons (mostly my fault). Haven't been out since last May. May need to be retrained.:D

#1 and foremost! I predict my dad will go in the 8.70's
#2 I predict I might go in the 7's with Pontiac power.maybe before Gtogeorge.

Since 1998, I've only missed 2010. Yes,, I'll be there. :)

You can always do what I did, George: set a goal to reach the sevens and head for a fast track on a test and tune night. Of course, a Birdcatcher would help, too.:)

Yea it’s that fuel thing, I need to send carbs off to be redone.....$600 a piece! One of those East coast Drag Strips in 50 degree temps should be good for easy 7.70’s! LOL!

I predict I will go faster this year in nmca trim then I did last year.

I bought my used Birdcatcher for less than $1200. By the way, I've got a 4.1" Toilet you could borrow. I'm not sure one would do it, though. I looked into that when I switched to a blower and decided the Birdcatcher is the easier way to go. It would bolt to your blower. You would probably want to add port injectors, though, in addition to hat injectors so you could tune each cylinder separately.

You're right, the east coast downhill mineshaft air tracks make it easier. ;) I run my 7's with a DA over 5,000' here in Tucson.
