Just out of the paint shop!
 

The sun came out today...
After 4 months in the shop, I got to see my 67 GP. Found in a shed a couple years ago. Still needs the new interior put in.

Looks like a big beautiful GTO.

Fathom Blue Pearlcoat. BTW, there is no metallic element in this paint.

Ya need to start hanging some of the parts you got from me on it. Love that color.

Maybe I'll start with that mirror! BTW, those are the polished rocker panel moldings I got from you.

Two thumbs up, beautiful car. Is it a white interior car? I hope so.

Car is a 428/360hp, Auto, AC, A.I.R., PS, PB, PW, rear window defroster. console; originally Mariner Blue/Black top, Parchment interior. Added or changed: off-white top. Rally IIs, gauges cluster, vacuum gauge, power trunk release, power door locks, headrests, outside remote mirror, all factory parts. Also KYB shocks, 1-1/8" sway bar, H-pipe Dynomax exhaust.
Car was stripped to bare metal for paint; found 8 different colors on the car. Color is a factory 2013-2015 Dodge Journey color. Much work still to be done. I'll post more pictures of progress if others are interested.

Beautiful car. How close is the Dodge paint color to the original Mariner Blue? I can't tell for sure - it looks similar but I think it's a darker shade.

When the car was stripped, 8 different colors were found on the car. I knew I wanted a dark color. I looked at the original color and while it had a lot going for it, I wanted something with a bit more character.
Talking to my paint guy about custom colors, he said that they are doing so many things with paint these days, it would be more practical, less expensive and easier to touch up if I chose a stock color from a newer car. He advised me to drive around the dealerships, find a color I liked and go with that.
I wanted to stay in the vicinity of the original color, so I looked for blue-green cars. One sunny day, I spotted this color on a Dodge Journey and it blew me away.
It has a LOT of pearl in it and NO metalflake. On a cloudy day it looks like a very dark blue-green. When the sun hit, it comes alive!

That's a great color! I have taken my mustang down to metal and it only had 5 different coats of paint on it.

That is one sharp looking car! I love the color! I wrote it down, and its now part of the list of cool colors I have stored. Hopefully one day I'll get to use it on something!

I'll second that. They must have told you 2 weeks to get the car back in 4 months. My car is still in "Paint Jail" since last August! And he laughed when I joked and said, "I'll have it by Christmas right?" He said, "No, you'll have it before T-Day"... yeah right!!!

Did he specify which T-day? :D ;)

Sweet! I love the '67s!

There is a '67 ragtop GP for sale on Craigslist around here. Car is a basket case but could be restored. I wish I had the money, time, space, and motivation, that's my ultimate full size.

Please post more pictures, I love the color and will be very eager to see how it comes along!

Beautiful car! A few years ago there was a 2+2 near me. It was complete, interior was mint, but the body was flapping in the wind. I didn't even bother to ask the guy what he wanted, and I was in the middle of my 77's resto. I guess it may have been worth parting out.
