LOL
It's a disguise to psych out his competition.
Does look better!

johnta1 06-05-2018 10:21 AM

I think he had said he put the steel fenders back on?
(fiberglass ones were unpainted)

Richie Hoffman 06-05-2018 12:22 PM

How does one get so "lucky" to win one? Must be a damn good crew.

Dragncar 06-05-2018 04:53 PM

OK, "Probird", did not know his full name. Always nice for one of us to get a win, congrats.

How did you do?

:)

badgto 06-05-2018 06:33 PM

I did a "Rick" I got to the top end and hit the throttle twice and let her back around. Lost by. 003 in the 4th rd. I should listen to what I preach to Rick all the time. Trust the car. Lol

Haha!! Yes Brian and Rob, it's all one color. I had to put my old steel fenders back on after a pit incident with the old gray fiberglass fenders. They fit right in with the rest of the car. They look good from the stands. That's about all I can say about that.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate all the comments. I've a good last couple of weekends. Memorial Day Weekend I went to Eddyville Raceway Park and won their big bucks race on Saturday. This last weekend I double entered at Coles County Dragway on Saturday before losing my last entry at 6 cars (round 7) by .002. I made 13 passes Saturday. That double entering is a LOT of work. I even kept my wife busy giving her extra jobs to be able to make back to back passes every round for 5 rounds. Lol! Keith did well and lost 4th round. He left Saturday night to head home. I was out of fuel so he left me 10 gallons to get me through Sunday. I couldn't have done it without him. I made a total of 22 passes in those 2 days. So much for the brand new slicks I started the weekend with!

That's cool you went to Eddyville! You see my dad there? He went both Sat and Sun (even through Sun was crazy hot!)

Ya, I saw him there pitted next to the staging lanes. It was crazy hot for sure!

Congrats Rick. So how much did your dial change? I know in an earlier post you said it was pretty consistent throughout the day, even with the weather changes over the length of the race day. Makes me consider switching to methanol for sure.

Aaron Quinton 06-09-2018 12:16 AM

Congrats bro!

It wasn't super consistent. The track is marginal at best and the variance is mostly in the 60' times. It started the day with a pair of 5.95's before the track started to go away in the middle of the day. The next pass the 60' fell off .02 and went 5.98. The next couple passes it fell off .02 more in 60' and went 6.00. Then the track came back as the sun started setting and it settled in at a high 5.96 and low 5.97 for the next 4 passes.
