Grand Torino one of my favorites.

Much to my wife's dismay, my Tivo is ordered to record anything with Clint Eastwood or Charles Bronson in it. The best surprise so far is an episode of Mr. Ed featuring Clint where he threatens to beat up Wilbur.

"Get three coffins ready..."

Stuart 08-09-2018 06:08 PM

There's an old episode of Highway Patrol with Broderick Crawford on Youtube, where a young Cllnt Eastwood plays a juvenile delinquent.

MUSLCAH 08-09-2018 06:57 PM

Remember watching him ...Rawhide , with my ol man ,..lol

Half-Inch Stud 08-09-2018 07:01 PM

Just saw the 3-hour Good Bad Ugly in the 1922 Alabama Theatre in Birminghan, complete with pipe organ, Intermission, and decorum

Simple Man 08-09-2018 07:27 PM

"Kellys Hero's", one of my favorites.

This is a T Shirt my wife and I designed, and used to sell at Norwalk, and other Pontiac shows. I plagiarized the idea from the movie Dirty Harry. People liked it pretty well, we sold a bunch of them. We also had one for the Trans Am Fans too, same idea. Is that a 400 in your T/A,,, or a 455?

The back of both shirts said, "Go Ahead, Make My Day"

https://image.ibb.co/h5S3Za/Picture_1.jpg

I guess borrowing that famous line from Dirty Harry makes me a fan...……….:D

At the Indian Uprising Pontiac show in Chicago I had a Mopar guy try to get me to make some with the same premise as the GTO and T/A shirts. He badgered me for half an hour, and I kept politely telling him I wasn't into Mopars, :gag: and had no interest in making that shirt with a Mopar theme on it.

He finally bought a GTO shirt and said he was going to take it to a T Shirt shop and have them make shirts with the Mopar theme on it from my pattern. At least I got him to buy a shirt....LOL

I never saw any Mopar shirts with that theme, Maybe he bought a GTO to go with his shirt.....LMAO :biggerGri

Here's the T/A shirt:

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot is another good movie. Rarely found on DVD. Has Trans Am in it with different color shaker.

Does anyone remember watching a group of people singing the song from the good, bad and ugly ? The guy doing the whistling broke out laughing.
It's awesome ! Can someone find the link ???
I'll bet I just put that tune in everyone's head. :music:

ta6point6 08-10-2018 11:00 AM

No quotes from Heartbreak Ridge??? That is full of good quotes and a fine movie

Improvise, adapt, overcome

What was that? That was the AK-47 the preferred weapon of out enemy. It makes a distinctive sound when fired at you.

Its your will against mine and you will lose

Good episode, I had never seen it. It’s right up there with the Hot Rods episode.
Always been an Eastwood fan. Play Misty for me, Grand Torino, in the line of fire, Hang Em High, Million dollar Baby to name a few.

carbking 08-10-2018 05:29 PM

Yes, since the Rawhide days. Seems there might also have been some early episodes of Death Valley Days with Mr. Eastwood.

Don't have an absolute favorite, like them all.

Jon.

Glad to see lots of Clint Eastwood Fans here.

Lots of good movies.

Always enjoy watching his movies.

Gran Torino has sad ending but some good ways to treat your neighbor.

Not liking Clint Eastwood is un-American!

Holeshot71 08-12-2018 09:22 PM

Clint Eastwood movies are some of my favorites. One of my favorite lines in Heartbreak Ridge "You can rob me, you can starve me...and you can beat me or even kill me, just don't bore me."

Another favorite is Any Which Way But Loose.

Love him, same with Charles Bronson, two bad Asses!

I just watched Thunderbolt and Lightfoot yesterday.

geeteeohguy 08-14-2018 05:59 PM

Been a lifelong fan. The cool thing is, the longer he's in the industry, the more productive and better he gets. He's 88 and still in the game, producing quality stuff. Never seen a movie with Clint (or Bronson, or Coburn, or Van Cleef) in it that wasn't highly entertaining. An in the Highway Patrol episode, Clint wasn't really a delinquent.....just a young guy on a motorcycle getting hassled in a small town for looking like a bad ass.

Been a lifelong Eastwood fan. Watched "Every Which Way But Loose" and "Any Which Way You Can" a lot when I was younger. Then "Dirty Harry" when I was a teenager. Then started watching some of his cowboy movies Pale Rider, Josie Wales, High Plains Drifter. Heartbreak Ridge is great. Another that I have not seen mentioned but I think is fantastic is "Honkytonk Man".
Have to agree that Charles Bronson is awesome too. I just discovered the Death Wish movies a couple years ago(I have them all now).

GT182 08-14-2018 09:59 PM

I've always been an Eastwood fan. From Rawhide on up to Dirty Harry and beyond. I've seen all his movies and not a one was ever a disappointment. In my book he's in the same league as John Wayne. And you can't do much better than that.

Most of the stuff Clint made was good. He fits right in the bad ass roles and its only Bridges of Madison County that’s not in my taste. Clint, Bronson, C Norris and Van Dam was the heroes that ran in the vcr...

I really liked the role Clint played in "Unforgiven". He had a couple of really good quotes. After a shootout scene......….his accomplice is sucking back on whisky still reeling from the adrenilen of the gunfight.........and he says to Clint "That fella sure had it comin'............….and Clint responds as he stares down a cold open field …………."We all got it comin' kid" ! "Hell of a thing...………..killin' a man...………….takes away all he's got...……….and all he's ever gonna have". Now that...…...to me...……….is a classic scene!

Old Goat Racer 08-17-2018 10:51 AM

"Dying ain't much of a livin', boy."

justincampbell 08-17-2018 05:41 PM

IMO, Some of the best Eastwood quotes are actually from Gran Torino. Maybe it's because, even though I'm only about half his age, I can really relate to his character. My wife says often "you must have a really old soul". Which I think is her polite way of telling me that I'm a grouchy sumbitch. LOL

thepontiacman 12-11-2018 12:16 PM

I hear he has a new film coming out "The Mule".

I remember watching ,Lafayette Escadille, movie looked like a young Clint in background.

I read that the shaker was changed for the filming, just to make it look like a used car.

Clint actually bought, the '73 TA after filming that movie, and kept it around for several years.
I last saw it in Deadwood SD about fifteen years ago - it had sitting on the floor beside it the red shaker used in the movie - and a registration card showing that Clint owned it...
