I'd use that '70 Bonneville as a daily driver until the snow falls.

We are getting our one or two days of snow today, so I'd be driving it daily 363 or 364 days a year here in Oklahoma.:) |
IF I was a single guy,
I'd cash out my IRA for that 2+2 and have it restored. But... My favorite year of B bodies. |
I hope the engine stays with that 2+2
|
That 2+2 has been for saie for quite a while
|
Big project, but really a unique car with the best colors!

65 Cat Convertible, by the looks of the Chevy Style Q-jet with a hot air choke, I don't think it has the original engine, but could be just an intake swap.

I bought that '70 Bonneville, i've been looking at it for awhile. The guy I bought it from is a Pontiac guy and bought the car out of a local Judges estate. It was bought new in Ritzville and never left town until yesterday. Plans are to add long branch manifolds, 2.93 posi and dual snorkel air cleaner to help that 455 breath.

Wow, how are you getting it home??? I had a 64 Bonne is similar condition, but the 70 really appealed to me being a 455 and having a TH400, and in such good condition. Hope you post about it, when you do these things to it!!! Man having disc brakes makes that a perfect car, for what it is, to me!!! My 64 was a 4 door hard top also! If you pass through Oklahoma and need anything, let me know!!! |

I really wanted a 2 door but I bought this for 1/2 the money of what a 2 door would have cost. Most people hate a 4 door but I look at it as a plus, same ride but 2 extra doors. This is my 455 Catalina I had a while back, I'll probably take a month and clean it up the same. |
Way Cool!!!
The 70 is a much better looking car, my opinion... Being a high compression engine, I'll be curious how it runs on today's gas. My 64 was very finicky... I'd be tempted to put the 068 cam in it, to also help with breathing. Those cars seldom came with disc brakes... The 4 door hard top is pretty cool. Looks strange with both doors open on one side at same time... I'm glad you got it. I have enough to work on, as it is. My 77 T/A, 67 C10 pickup, 68 C10 Golden Anniversary pickup |

I guess I've been lucky lately with cars having a factory 8-track. I bought a '70 GTO last month and it had 8-track in it too.
|
You are the man Russ! I was wondering when I saw that you were looking for some 5x5 rallyes. Delivered completely across the country for a grand..I'd say that's a deal.

This Bonneville will be such a cool cruiser!! |

No, definitely not Russ. I just accused him of changing cars like I change socks just a few weeks ago. If anybody is the guy that never sells anything, that's ME.

Have you guys noticed that (in 69 anyway) that floor mounted 8 tracks were always black (rather than color keyed)? My Bonnie ragtop has its factory installed 8 track and it is black in an otherwise gold interior. My 4 door hardtop Bonnie is the same with a black 8 track but a green interior. On A bodies it seems to be the same for floor mount 8 tracks but console mounted ones are interior color.

I had the car delivered and clean it up a little. I also found out some history on the car. The Original owner was a superior court Judge in that county he was from, he bought the car 4 years before his retirement and died in 1988. It sat in the garage from 1986 (when it was last tagged) till the guy I got it from bought it 5 years ago.

Oh crap!!! I remember those tires, Don't drive an inch on those!!! Lives were lost driving on those tires, another firestone fiasco!!!
Car looks great. Is new rear end installed yet???? |

Cool!!! Just hoping to see more pictures before it leaves your possession...
|
I agree, the 2 cars I had with those 721 Radials had them split up the tread when they were less than a year old and throw the caps like a retread will do. Never had one blow out, but they caused a lot of rear 1/4 damage to my old 65 2+2.
Nice weird Sedan, I really like it! |
FIRECRACKER 721s

Glad to see this '70 big Pontiac saved, they are getting rarer by the day.
|
What's going on with this car Russ? I had forgotten about it.
