I like those too. Really good with turkey, swiss and mayo.

Are you kidding? Sheeeeeeeiiittttt, I freakin' love those things! I really wish they would expand out into stuff like sliced loaves of bread and such too, as I would love to make some sammiches out of those. But I still make do with the rolls, especially this time of year.

marxjunk 11-17-2018 11:46 PM

edit: WHAT?? sliced bread? i gotta research it some more

yep..i wish they had sandwich rolls.

i made steak sliders tonight with them...

one slice of breakfast stakes..they also call the patio steaks (medium of course..some salt pepper and ground cayene)

i took a new potato, boiled it, and then smashed it with a frying pan and fried it crispy

1 sliver of sweet onion broiled with a mushroom cap and a piece of pepper jack and swiss...

toasted a roll on the griddle...and EF me....am i happy..i mean..wow..the toasted roll just makes it...man.....i ate 3 and could prob do 3 more..lol...and Trixie was asking if i could make them for Thanksgiving..she said her family would die to have some...so, i guess, i have a new Thanksgiving tradition

i'm trying to grille all of it tomorrow...lol...snow and all..gotta believe a Miller Lite would work well with them..

Love the Kings Rolls, have road tripped for decades with a pkg or two of Kings Hawaiian rolls in gal sized Ziplocs in my icechest behind the drivers seat in my truck or Cherokee. often carefully cut a row of 3 rolls to make a small hoagie bun. Some high quality deli thin sliced smoked turkey breast, a supply of sliced pepper jack or Swiss cheese, along with a bottle of my favorite mustard, or in a pinch, one of my favorite salad dressings usually round out part of the cooler stash. Also like to travel with a ziplocked cked bag of Dole chopped BBQ salad, as well as banannas, & some other type of fruit.

What do you live under a rock, how can you just now be discovering Kings Hawaiian? I dated a girl that was 52 years old and she had never had pistachios before. She ate so many the first time she had them, that her finger tips were raw from cracking them open.

Those rolls go FAST!

ponyakr 11-19-2018 03:24 PM

I'm not a huge fan of those. But I do love homemade yeast rolls, & even the brown-n-serve rolls, which the stores only sell during the holidays.

Back when we went racing in East Texas, most every weekend, there was a small restaurant in Waskom, called Grandma's.

We'd always stop there, on the way home. They had the very best yeast rolls we've ever eaten, to this day. Sometimes we'd eat a meal there. But, whether we ate there or not, we'd always buy a big bag full of rolls, to take home with us. Sometimes I'd eat at least six(sometimes more) of 'em on the trip home. Didn't need anything else with 'em, or on 'em. They were perfect right out of the bag. Have never run across any near that good, and that was 40 years ago. Don't know what was different about their recipe. But, to us, it was perfect.

I like those pretty good, my son goes through a package a week. Nothing better in his mind. The brown and serves are really good too. My sister makes a mean roll from scratch, only get them a couple of times year though. Fresh homemade bread is my weakness.

i have no idea how i missed them...maybe a regional thing...i dunno..until i bought the first pack ive never seen or heard of them..and the only reason i picked them up, is the guy was unpacking 10 cases..and people where bum-rushing him...so i had to try them....just had to

i did the sliders on the grille...OMG..is all i can say...OMG..the smoke and fire and cold weather..just wow...

Yes! Eating KH for years. I was pilfering rolls 2 days before, wife didn't know until yesterday. Also, our church uses the round loaves as communion bread.

Well Thanksgiving is in the books for this year but we still have Christmas to go....

Rotella Bakery has some really good stuff also.

Especially the rolls!

I bet our very own Rocky on this board might know a thing or two bout that....
