Krispy Kreme, or Dunkin' Donuts?
 

In the spirit of recent topics, I thought I would ask.

KK here.

Duncan Donuts sucks! They have about 10 donut selections, and are in the process of changing their name to just Dunkin. Mostly millennial food items now. They are making their bagels smaller, use half the amount of cream cheese, and barely toast the bagel, so that it’s chewy and cold, not crunchy and toasted. We don’t have KK here, we have a chain called yum...yum donuts, with over 25 donut selections, bagels, sandwiches etc. Best donuts ever!

KK, but for some reason they don’t seem to survive in Houston. Too much competition from a Shipley’s I guess.

in north Joisey as a kid there was an Italian bakery that made Zeppole's that you ate hot and had powdered sugar on, and were probably not healthy, and they were better than Duncan or Krispy, to die for. Eat a dozen until sick. But I vote Duncan, Krispy so overrated, I don't get it.

We are fortunate in Dayton, Ohio to have "Bills Doughnuts". They have won numerous national awards for the best doughnuts in the country. KK doughnuts still stay's in business and is damn good though. I'll take a week old doughnut from the Speedway gas station over anything at Dunkin Doughnuts. No idea how they stay in business. At least get the name right. It's Dunkin. All the " beautiful people" go to Starbucks. I'll grant you that Dunkins not as good as they were when they made the donuts at each store but they are miles ahead of Krispy. They changed because people don't buy donuts any more, they just buy coffee.

Between Krispy Kreme and Dunkin, I would choose KK.

There is donut place in the Raleigh area named Rise. Their donuts are awesome, better than KK. And since they make them on site, you can get them when they're still hot and with a variety of toppings.

I'll pick Dunkin over KK. And Mike is right.... Bill's doughnuts are awesome.

Throw Wawa into the mix
 

Wawa, which is a family owned chain of over 500 convenience food stores from the Northeast states to DC/Virginia plus Florida, has some great donuts, IMO. Apple Fritter and Coffee Roll are great tasting and big. Get in a regular habit of consuming these babies and you’ll be in trouble....probably 500 calories a piece. KK are small and DD hasn’t had much selection in years.

Krispy Kreme is my favorite. Unfortunately all ours closed a few years ago when KK had financial issues. Now I am stuck with Dumpy Donuts.

I don’t care for either Dunkin or Krispy Kreme. When I want an excellent donut I go to one of the many mom and pop bakery’s we have in the area.

Best donuts here in n.y. are at Tops market.

Dunkin. I just don't care for KK. I think they taste like lard.

Best answer would be to call 911 from either store and see who gets the quickest respond time.:police:

Wawa coffee rolls are the best! Between the 2, I prefer Dunkin'. Landhope and royal farms sell kk but they are puney, and have no 'donut' flavor. To me they taste way too chemical. I never knew what all the hype was with them. Then again I prefer a plain ole glazed donut over most others.

If I'm going to eat a donut, I want a Krispy Kreme. Plain.

The Wawa apple fritter is good with a 22oz. Coffee, but a little to big for me.

The one with the icing? Mike got me one of those this past Sunday morning. Good, but very sweet. I’m al ready sweet enough lolol.

Not healthy...true! Every other weekend I make breakfast at home, every other Sunday, is a treat of a donut and coffee, or breakfast sandwich and coffee, so don’t get a donut that often.

I'm diabetic, so donuts aren't on my diet any longer, but if you're ever in Erie PA there's a local place called Mighty Fine Donuts, and another local donut shop called H & K Donuts. I grew up in Erie and lived there until I was 47 and consumed quite a few from both places until In my early 40s I was diagnosed with diabetes.

I'm going to say Mighty Fine was probably my first, with H & K a close second, KK & DD not even close to either of the aforementioned. I almost forgot another place called, Jack Frost donuts, All local, and all good.

Dunkin PR attorneys contacted me. I am not allowed to praise them again, unless I spell more correctly. Super One food store here in Kalispell has amazing glazed and I just ate one.

KK sucks.

KK all the way, especially when still warm. Dunkin is second, then Tim Hortons. Locally I like Buckeye Donuts.

I have never met a donut I did not like, there are different flavors and breads but a donut is a donut. Here we have Dunkin, Lamars, KK and the donut haus and would not turn down any of them. Just like a cookie, some are better than others but give me some cookies and milk.

often an old fashioned bakery's donuts are best, but for any chains, or dedicated donut business, Krispy Kreme is my all time favorite.

I love how you can see them being made... for me at least, it adds to the atmosphere, and fun of going there... free samples don't hurt either ;)

Unfortunately KK pulled up shop and left my city years ago (maybe five years ago?) - so the closest KK that I have gone to is a brief eight hour one-way drive in Spokane :(
I believe that the KK in Kalispell Montana is closer, but I have never been there, so that's a rather moot point.

Neither one really appeals to me. My local Vietnamese bakery has terrific donuts and maple bars.

If you ever have to come to SoCal,make a point to go to Donut Derlects in Huntington Beach.Be there on Saturday about 6AM,there will be a large gathering of car guys and the freshest selection of made on site donuts of all kinds.You can do a google search on it.Tom

Best donuts in this area are at Harvest Markets a local chain of family owned grocery stores. Only problem is you have to get them early or all the popular flavors are gone.

If you are ever near Hagerstown, Md. you should go by Krumpe's Donuts. They and open at 8PM. Their cinnamon twists are the best!

Krispy Kreme all the way. I'm sick of day old stale Duncan Donuts. The foreigners that run all the Duncan Donuts here don't throw out anything or try to keep them fresh. I've even caught them watering down the coffee a couple of times. I asked out loud why would you do that and then pour someone a cup of coffee? They wouldn't answer but everyone in line left the store. :D No I didn't make that up, it really happened.

'ol Pinion head... did I just read a Hurts donut? Did someone punch you in the arm? LOL I remember getting them in school.... a punch in the arm, and asked "Hurts doe nit?" ;)

Diabetic and went paleo, lost 60 pounds and no longer need insulin but back when I did have donuts Krispy Cremes or Entemanns chocolate dipped cake donuts.
I miss grains but no more shots or insulin makes it worth not eating them.

When I went, I was a little too occupied checking out the cars especially one specific GTO... I actually never went inside!
Maybe, if I go again, I'll be a bit more outgoing & talkative, and enjoy a donut or three while there ;)

Neither can compare to Shipleys

As a lifelong Bostonian - DD is awful, unless you like crappy coffee, dry muffins from a huge factory and rubber microwaved eggs. I just don't get how people become enamored with a chain like this and go there every day, sometimes multiple times per day!

KK cream or glazed are the ****. Someone brought in DD today at work an I did not even open the box

I used to go to Wawa for my coffee and a chocolate covered donut. The coffee sucks but the donut was good. And now that they raised the price for a 16oz refill to $1.39 I don't go anywhere near the place. Stuff it Wawa, you're a bunch of hogs! :boxing:

I'll take 7 11's blueberry flavored coffee, 16oz refill, for 99 cents any day of the week. 7th one is free. And until the middle of this month a refill is 50 cents.

and the cherry fritters are good:D
