My wife and I will be watching the Daytona 500...……...:D

johnta1 02-16-2019 10:07 PM

At the track or on tv?

:)

Sirrotica 02-16-2019 10:27 PM

TV John, We were there in person at the 2015 race.

77 TRASHCAN 02-16-2019 11:30 PM

Enjoy it for me, please!!!
I dumped dish in December, currently have no TV service (it really does not bother me, I went from 2010-2015 with zero TV...)
I am recouping from kidney stone surgery. Lol, the Percocet may interfere with MY reception...I am doing VERY well though! Thank Yoy, Lord!!!

tom s 02-17-2019 12:13 AM

Won't miss it!Tom

MY69prix 02-17-2019 01:13 AM

I will be in my garage working on my '69 Prix.....but with my door open I can hear all the action. One of the perks of a Daytona zip code!

David Jones 02-17-2019 08:57 AM

Napping.

I'll be DVR'ing the race as we'll be at the Minnesota Wild game. We have a partial season ticket (weekends only) and this was part of our package.

I"ll also be celebrating my birthday after the game at "Herbie's on the Park" (nspired by the legacy of Herb Brooks & the Minnesota Club, Herbie's on the Park is the quintessential social house) at the Whiskey and Wine with the Wild charity event hosted by Wild forward Zach Parise.

I'll have to watch the race tomorrow when we get home from St. Paul.

Half-Inch Stud 02-17-2019 09:52 AM

A buddy will be glued to it.

I however will be preparing to attend a hatchet throwing event at a brewery. Or not.

I love Daytona! Theres a pizza joint on rt 1 (I believe) in port orange. Its a big Pitt Steeler place (not a fan) but their pizza is on my top 10 list.

I will try to watch the race. Wife is not a fan so I will probably have to hide out in the bedroom. I always get excited for the 500, but by about the 3rd week of the season have little interest in it. Also, did they change something? I was watching qualifiers and they were driving supras and mustangs! I thought they were running 4 door cars. Bout time they got something realistic.

Sirrotica 02-17-2019 12:32 PM

Rules change over the off season, the Thursday night dual races there was very little passing except for the last lap. Sometimes when they make aero changes it takes the drivers time to get used to how the cars handle with a different aero package. Many times I've seen the 500 be much different than the preliminary races proceeding the 500. I hope it proves out like that today.

Stuart 02-17-2019 06:13 PM

Shows how long it's been since I've watched a NASCAR race...I didn't know they were running Mustang bodies these days.

Sirrotica 02-17-2019 06:19 PM

That's new this season, Chevy had camaro last year.

tom s 02-17-2019 06:31 PM

At 2:30 today I was out taking a hike, just me and my pup. Enjoying a nice sunny, late February day in New England.

Stuart 02-17-2019 07:24 PM

One hell of a pileup.

tom s 02-17-2019 07:28 PM

We could see the same thing next week at Atlanta with the new rules!Tom

I'd mutch rather watch an NHL game than NASCAR.
I watched the first half of that game on NBC's hockey night. They were down 0-4 by that time. Then my older brother came home so I switched it to the (once) great American race.
The Rangers vs Penguins game was better.

%*$#&@! 55 mph speed limit. I've been saying for years they ought to be allowed to go full bore anytime the race is under green.

Looks like the same stuff that's been going on since the early 2000s.

You're much better off watching football and hockey, keep up the good work.

Half-Inch Stud 02-18-2019 09:28 AM

Fella said the Daytona 500 16 car pileup toward the end made a messed-up race.

Long axe handle was a success to throw. Short axe handle was real difficult to land into the wood wall.

I don't think the axe throwing is going to be a thing, a league, but maybe it could be the tie breaker in darts.

Went to a friends house in Colora MD, wives were included. Everyone paid $10 for 3 numbers drawn from a hat. Last place paid $10, first place won the pot. Made for a fun afternoon, even the ladies paid attention the last 30 laps.

I mean really thats essentially the same thing as watching NASCAR. I was a fan as a kid, but anymore all the cliches about it just seem true. Whole buncha turnin left etc.... I like racing so I would like to be a fan, but man its just not interesting anymore. I cant even tell you what it is exactly. Other than I wish they would race real cars.

TAKerry 02-18-2019 05:51 PM

Bob, you probably drove right past my house!

400 4spd. 02-18-2019 09:25 PM

Sirrotica 02-19-2019 12:43 AM

Well Jaws is one of the commentators this year, what do you think?...…………..LOL

Pull them seat belts tight, Let's go racin boys, boogity boogity boogity…………..:)
