Favorite fronts and backs of cars..

My favorite front end is the 67 Pontiac Grand Prix. Favorite rear end is either the 64 Grand Prix or the 66 GTO...

What's yours, can be any make?

389 09-05-2019 08:07 AM

I also like the 61 Olds 88..

lemansboy70 09-05-2019 08:20 AM

I second the '66 GTO. Dead sexy!

Greg Reid 09-05-2019 09:05 AM

Too many to choose from...but I've always liked the '65 GTO tailpanel with it's disappearing tail light trick.

60's and 70's are all very cool but I'm a fat fender fan.

Firedup6975 09-05-2019 09:36 AM

My pick for the front end would be the 1958 Bonneville, and the back end would be the 59 Bonneville. :D:cool:

Most people seem to HATE this front end. I always liked the way the grill/ chrome bumpers look on the ‘70 Coronet ever since it came out when I was a kid.

Rear is easy. 59 Chevrolet.

Front is a bit harder. 68-72 Corvette? 62 Ferrari GTO?

I think its because my favorite look would be something decidedly non factory. Like a nostalgia funny car with a big blower sticking out of the hood.

Another of my favorite rears...the '62 Caddy... Gaudy and understated (compared to the '50s models) at the same time

I’m kinda partial to the beaks on these front ends. :D. But I really don’t like their back sides. Lol :p

Always loved this front end and it’s tail feathers. :D

Stuart 09-05-2019 09:37 PM

As you might guess I'm partial to 1961 Pontiacs, but there are so many cars of all different ages and brands it's hard to pick one absolute favorite. My choice varies daily. :)

1959 Buick front end. Just sinister.

The Cadillac designers of the '50s had it figured out when it came to front end styling.

This applies to me also, but I will submit to the best of my ability.
I really like the OP choice of front end on '67 GP, but I also think the back end on those are just as tastey. Also like the uniquness of the 68-69 Caprice/Impala with hideaway headlights.
But those won't be my top choice for this thread.

When I was about 12 or 13, I remember falling in love with the '61 Impala's rear styling. The sparkle is still there for me.
After I got turned on to Pontiacs, I have loved the front facia design on the 78-80 Grand Ams since the first time I saw one in 1980.

1963 Tempest is my favorite rear end right now. Especially in black. Not the LeMans, though.

I think the last years of Firebirds beat all front ends--especially the WS-6 ones with four air scoops. Not a good picture, but gives you the idea.
