Edelbrock Aluminum Heads

4 Attachment(s)
I have a pair of edelbrock aluminum Ram air iv style round port heads in great running condition. Complete with Arp head bolts and Roller tip rockers. 2000.00

Dragncar 11-24-2019 08:02 PM

72 or 87 ccs?

ID67goat 11-25-2019 02:26 AM

Look like 72cc since there is no exhaust cross over.

Joe's Garage 11-25-2019 03:20 AM

Actually, they might be 72cc heads

The Edelbrock exhaust crossover is just a small (1/2" maybe) drilled hole, not a 1" square square opening like the stock heads have.

I think I can see that hole in the left head in the first picture. I drew a red circle around it.

I'm sure Ram4King will update this listing in the morning.

Good luck!!

ponjohn 11-25-2019 09:42 AM

Part number indicates 87cc.

Joe's Garage 11-25-2019 04:37 PM

Senior moment - meant to say they looked like the 87cc heads because of the hole.
Ponjohn cleared it up with the part number lookup.

What size Rockers?
Any port work done?

Old Goat Racer 11-27-2019 06:37 PM

I own 2 sets of 87 cc heads, neither set says "Performer RPM"..

I also own 2 sets of 72 cc heads, they both say "Performer RPM".

Does RRE mean Rock and Roll engineering ?

Just ask'in

Yes, RRE does mean Rock N Roll Engineering... My 72cc Round ports came from RRE... Bruce is anti porting so its unlikely he did anything to them but scratch the surface to make it look like he did something...

Thanks for all the info guys. It's all coming together now as I was told the engine was built in California and brought to the east coast. Alot of money was spent on this engine that these heads was on.

Ram4king 11-27-2019 09:52 PM

Does Rock and roll engineering build complete engines? I'm wondering if they built the shortblock I have too?

Mike Davis 11-27-2019 10:06 PM

If you ask Bruce Fulper he is the best builder and racer! If you ask anyone else he is middle of the road. Yes he build engines but does not have a good rep on these boards.

He is not anti porting. He is 100% THIEF. He had Air Flow Research develop the first CNC program for those heads. So you know it was good. But what he did was not pay(allegedly) AFR then sand roll heads and charge them full price for a CNC port job (allegedly)

Ram4king 11-28-2019 03:02 AM

Means nothing to me as I dont either but I still do some great stuff with pontiacs.
I believe the guy when he tells me this engine was the **** when he ran it. It has too many good parts to be nothing but hey thanks for the feedback. Theres always somebody that dont like someone

performerrpm 11-28-2019 09:01 AM

i was thinking the same thing in the heads....about my 72s being rpms and the 87s being performer only.

these days on the facebook groups where fulper post, any aftermarket head u buy is a waste of money and the same results can be achieved with his worked over iron heads.

performerrpm 11-28-2019 09:06 AM

kinda interested in these but for 2k it be nice to know what type cam was ran with them to get an idea of what theyre set up for. they could just be box stock eheads?

557 block ?

Ram4king 11-28-2019 04:51 PM

Yes it is and I did some reading on rock and roll engineering which seems to confirm what I was told about the engine.
IT seems that they were the first to build strokers with putting 455 cranks in 400 blocks. The engine was built yrs ago but only driven a few thousand miles. It's still in awesome shape. The only specs I have on the cam is it's a flat taper that the guy told me had a nice sound to it. The paperwork is lost to it and I have 2 different guys that want these parts. Was hoping for someone local to take everything but it's looking like I'll be shipping these.

Ram4king 12-03-2019 11:44 PM

Heads are sold. Thanks for all the interest
