Ponyakr
Anybody heard from Ponyakr? Believe he lives in Monroe,La. and tornado hit there yesterday.
|
No I Haven't. I'm checking on the GTO forum to see if anyone there has heard fom him. Sure hope nothing has happened to him and his wife. (Nothing yet on PM sent)
(We had a bunch of tornado's and "straight line" winds here this morning between 3:30am and around 5:00 am. A big Oak crushed my nephew's truck as well as his girlfriends house, no injuries, Thank you Lord.) |

That’s great to hear he’s doing a little better, that’s a very dangerous situation. The best thing a person can have is someone looking over them in the hospital . Lots of mistakes happen so keep watch over him, prescriptions etc.
Was thinking about him The other day wondering how he was doing since I posted a thread he’d have really enjoyed. Hope he gets better . Don’t let your guard down though when in the home stretch hospitals make mistakes and a patient having an advocate with a watchful eye is very important. Good luck and let him know we are all pulling for him And hoping for his recovery.. just keep saying “ stock and super stock Pontiacs” around him that’ll get his strength up. |

Hello all,
Just a quick update. Don (Ponyakr) is off the ventilator now, Praise the Lord!, breathing on his own with a mask set at 50% oxygen. All vitals are pretty stable. Not very communicative at the moment, which is REALLY strange for him - LOL I think he's just tired. I know he would sure appreciate the kind words and prayers that have been said on his behalf - and I do too. Will keep you guys posted. Love and hugs from TJ |
He is in everyone’s prayers who ever frequents this site. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Please tell him get well soon.
|
Thanks for the update TJ!
We'll keep him in our thoughts and prayers. |

Happy to hear he’s off the ventilator and breathing on his own, that’s good news.
|
I pray for a speedy recovery and many more years of him being with you.

Hello all. I'm sorry I don't have better news to share with this update. But, All is Well With My Soul!
Don Hurst March 22, 1949 - June 5, 2022 Well, although my tears don’t want to quit flowing, my heart and spirit are shouting Hallelujah right now. My partner, my best friend of 43 years (54, if you count the 11 years we dated before marriage) has been promoted to his heavenly rewards. He slipped away about 4 or 5 minutes to noon today - Pentecost Sunday - how fitting! He fought a good fight, he has finished his race and he kept the faith. (2 Tim. 4:7-8) I know his greatest wish would be that everyone would make SURE they have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, so he can see you again one day. There will be no funeral or memorial service. We both agreed long ago to be cremated and our ashes sprinkled in a special place on our property. So that’s what I’ll do. Thank you for all your prayers and support throughout this ordeal. Nothing left to do but shout “Amen!” Somebody!! This was his favorite song, by a favorite group, The Hoppers… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5jowLv0mXY |
So sorry to hear this sad news. :(
God bless you T.J.’and may Don rest in eternal peace with the Lord. Bart |
Sounds like someone strong and grounded,TJ. He`ll be waiting for you.
|
I am so sorry to hear that. Couldn't wait for him to get back on and talk Pontiacs and stock / super stock racing again. Totally didn’t see this coming.
I will keep Both of you in my prayers. Sadly he probably didn’t realize how much most of us liked him and his posts, and enjoyed talking w him. Maybe he knows now anyway . |
I am sad to hear.
Know that he will be missed here and his spirit will live in all he touched. |
So sorry for your loss...He will be missed.
|
From the Pontiac family, He’s in Pontiac Heaven god bless TJ. As friends we never say goodbye when you think of him TJ he’ll be with you.
|
I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. I'm thankful that he knew Jesus as his Savior. Cherish the time many years you had together! You'll have infinitely more together in eternity where there's no sickness, or pain.
|
God bless you T.J.’and may Don rest in eternal peace with the Lord he is with his other family now!

I didn't know Don personally as some of you did but I always appreciated his posts and upbeat attitude. Never an unkind word said and obviously a man of faith. He has stepped through that veil into the eternal now with his Lord and Savior. I look forward to meeting him one day, and you too TJ.
|
T.J., my deepest condolences to you and your family. Don was one in a million. I can imagine he and my dad are discussing their favorite Pontiacs.
|
My sincerest condolences for you and the family TJ, he will be missed by many here. Please post information for Don's services as many will want to know.
