Prayer Request Please
 

My stepson, and his girlfriend just gave birth to their son through a complicated pregnancy. They had to do a C section on Friday because of the mother having problems with her blood pressure and water retention, so they sped up the birth about 4 weeks early.

The good news is, the baby (Henry), is doing just fine, my wife and her son are taking him for the doctors for a check up today. The bad news is the mother (Aubrey) has been hospitalized since early Monday with fluid on her heart and lungs. My wife just called and said her son (David) has talked to her, and the doctors told her her heart is enlarged and is working at 50%.

My wife is an RN, so she has told me this is a rare occurrence for the mom to have heart problems after giving birth, with no history of heart problems previously.

I'm asking for prayers for Aubrey, for a recovery, and David, and Henry, for strength to withstand the problems they are faced with. David is beside himself with sadness for Aubrey, and her health problems. Henry of course being just a few days old just needs to stay healthy himself.

I know the members here can come together when asked, and pray for others as they have before. I'm asking for help with my own prayers for Aubrey, David, and Henry.

Thank You all in advance, the more people that pray the better her chances become, at least that has been my experience, and belief.

Today Aubrey had to walk down the hall to check her oxygen saturation, it was 70% when she was admitted to the ICU. Today it was 98% and they probably will release her this afternoon to come home to be with baby Henry, and David.

She isn't out of the woods yet though, still to be determined if there is any permanent heart damage, but hopefully there isn't any.

Prayer does work, I wish I could thank each and every one of you personally, but I can only do it through this media..............................:thanx:

Excellent news. Hopefully she can get back to normal..
My heart is only functioning at 25%. Been that way for over a year and a half. I’m still leading a normal life.

:( thoughts and prayers to all of you, your family and hers. Stay strong for them!

Aubrey is now home, I just returned from their home. She has an appointment with a cardiologist on Monday to do an assessment of her condition. Just hoping, and praying for the best possible outcome.

Many thanks to all those that have responded, and anyone that may not have responded, but still has prayed for the family. We appreciate everyone's effort.

Please keep us posted about the mother and child Brad. I’m sure I speak for everyone, we will keep them in our prayers.

The families chipped in to buy them a new clothes dryer, I was elected to go pickup the new one because I own a truck.........LOL. Gotta have a good washer and dryer with a newborn, that's for sure.

While delivering the new dryer, Aubrey came out into the living room carrying Henry. I asked her how she was feeling, she said today was pretty good, so each day seems she's feeling better.

Monday is her appointment with the cardiologist, so she will probably find out if she has any permanent heart damage. I will keep everyone updated as soon as I know anything.

Keep up the good work guys, it's working very well so far.

Sorry for not having updated sooner.

Aubrey went to the cardiologist Monday, and there is no improvement in her heart capacity. It has actually dropped somewhat and is now in the 35% range.

The doctor has changed medication and is hoping the new meds will improve the heart. She is feeling pretty good, baby is doing fine.

I would ask for the ones that offered prayer keep her in your prayers, she's not going the way the doctors want her to so far.

I really hate for this to happen to someone so young with having their first child, and this freak thing happens.

Again a heartfelt thanks to all those that have prayed for her, and the family. We all really appreciate taking the time to help another human being.

Brad, while I rarely post, I feel compelled to communicate some of my personal experience to you regarding Aubrey’s health. For the last two + years I have had a turbine pump in my body helping assist my heart to move the blood along. I’m 70 years old and still kicking, so there is hope. God was not surprised in my case or in any other situation. He has provided pharmacists , diagnosticians, skilled medical people for treatment, for therapy, or for surgery. He has guided technology in addressing everything that Aubrey may face. Far more important is His provision of peace and even joy in the midst of adversity. I pray for healing, full recovery and a faith that sustains her and all her family regardless of outcome.

George, thank you for the prayers, and I also wish you the best with your own struggles with your health.

My wife is an RN, and used to work on a cardiac team that did open heart surgery, she's probably more knowledgeable than the average health care worker in matters concerning heart health which is good because she knows all the subtleties of that area of healthcare. I never knew about a booster pump to assist the heart, I'll have to ask her about that. Sounds similar in theory to what we car guys do to assure fuel supply on our cars.

Aubrey's mom is also a nurse, not sure what portion of health care she is specialized in, but between my wife, and her mom, we can at least understand what the docs are telling us.

We're blessed in that area of expertise.

The people on PY are really great when prayer request are asked for. I'm thankful I'm affiliated with all the people on this board that give freely, when asked by someone in need.
