What's your "bucket list" car???
 

I'm meaning the car that you have always had a sideways yearning for. A car that you would have loved to own but you know in your heart you most probably never will.

Mine is a 1949 or 1950 Hudson Commodore 4 door sedan. I just love that super wide low stance they have. All curves and comfort. They just attract me.:)

I wanted a GTO since my dad first started selling them back in the fall of 1963 - I was 9 years old at the time. In June of 1992 I bought my '64 GTO Convertible for $600.00.

The one that I would love to own but know I never will is the Pontiac Banshee. I've had my GTO shown with the Banshee only 15 feet away, but that's as close as I'll get to owning one...;)

Really tough to pick just one. Well since I was a teenager I was attracted to the 62 bubble top Impalas, and of course with a duel quad 409.
I was just attracted to the great lines and even at 14 I understood the significance of that engine..

Plain Jane car with the powerful motor, bench seat, floor shift, even the rubber floor.
Of course, that’s just today. Tomorrow, I might be pining for a super nice ‘67 GTO.

A real aluminum nose 62-63 SD Catalina. I will never own one so I am currently building a "sort of" clone from a really nice 62 Catalina. It will be close enough and I can drive and enjoy it.

From the era before I was old enough to drive:
I always wanted a W-Motor Chevy, any '59-'62 but preferably a Bel Air or Biscayne coupe.
I'd except a '67 Plum Mist Grand Prix hard top as a substitute.

From the time I was 16 or older:
A 1980 Grand Am, or a 1977 Ventura SJ coupe.

Street legal, winged, sprint car, Stratostreak powered, of course. 8 stack electronic fuel injection, and 410 cubic inches, 4L80E, 1400-1600 lbs. Loosely conforming to the rules, just like the WOO (World Of Outlaws), and ASCOC (All Star Circuit Of Champions) cars.

I'm still trying to attain this dream, if finances, and health allow it. I may have some employment working for my neighbor who has a lawn care service next year, running one of his zero turn mowers.

As has been already mentioned, a 57 Pontiac 2 dr hdtp is also on that list. As well as a 81-87 Pontiac GP NASCAR street driven clone, with a 455 Pontiac engine. I already have a race chassis, a 84 GP donor, and a 455 assembled engine, so this may be one I actually build, God willing. Having 67 YO, mostly in the rear view mirror, and approaching 68 quickly, I'll just have to do what is realistic at this point.

For me, a late 30's to early 40's 2 door Lincoln Zephyr

Ferrari GTO or Daytona either one would do it.

70 RA4 4spd Lucerne Blue TA black deluxe interior and no other options.

Or a 73 SD 4spd Brewster TA Black interior with all the options.

I’ll probably never own either, still hoping for that little old lady to kick it, and me to find it cheap!

63 Galaxie two door sedan, 300 model (No trim, rubber floor mats). Small block Ford.

When I was 17 I came across one as described for sale. $500. Had a 289 with overdrive. Pale blue with dark blue cloth interior. I literally begged my parents to help me buy it. They were interested but finances got in the way.
Fast forward to 1992, I came across another one but with an inline six and 3 on the tree. Not running, For sale at $500. A divorce got in the way this time.
Then last year I saw one on a local Craigs List. Fully restored with a 351 Cleveland and AOD. $35,000.
Why is it all about the Benjamins? LOL

Tough call. Either an Atoll Blue '70 Judge Ram Air IV four speed or an Aegena Blue '68 Ram Air II 4 speed GTO.

I have a list of cars I want to obtain. I'm fortunate enough to have obtained one of them recently, but still have a few I want.

69 Charger, probably a General Lee, but would love one in black with a red R/T stripe. Loved the General Lee in the tv show and movie. Something about that flag, push bumper, and turbine wheels just looks sooooo good.

67 GT500 Eleanor. Ever since I first saw the remake Gone In 60 Seconds, I thought it was one of the most beautiful cars ever made.

70 Superbird in Lime Light on black. The winged cars are some of the coolest vehicles to ever grace the roadways and race tracks.

98-02 R34 Nissan Skyline GTR in Bayside blue. This car is my generations Lamborghini Countach. Everyone had a poster of it on their wall, toys and Rc cars of it, and always was the car to have in video games. I've been planning on importing one as soon as they become legal. I'll probably end up buying before they're legal, and keeping it in storage in Japan until it can come over here.

I have other cars that I want, I dont think any car guy can narrow it down to one car, but those four are on my short list.

The car I wanted most when I was a teenager was a red 1973 SD455 4-spd with a/c and loaded with options. I sat in a red 1973 SD automatic in 1973 when I was 16, and I was totally impressed. Since the 4-spd cars weren't available with A/C, I plan to build my own using a wrecked 73 455 4-spd T/A and a spare SD motor I have.

When I was younger, I really wanted a blue 427 AC Cobra. I worked for a guy in the mid-1970s who restored Fords for a wealthy collector. I worked on and drove a real 289 Cobra and a 427 Cobra. They were awesome, but totally lacked any creature comforts. The 427 was brutal.

So I think I would need at least two different cars. One would be a weekend toy, the other would be a comfortable cruiser.

Another car I'd really like to have is a 65 Buick Riviera GS. When I was 18, I bought a 1964 Riviera dual quad car. There was no GS in 1964, the dual quad 425 was an option. I loved that car, super comfortable and a real cruiser. I still regret selling that car, but I like the hideaway headlights of the 1965 better. Right after my mother passed away, I had a chance to buy a 65 Riviera GS in nice shape with the original drivetrain, but I didn't act on it because I was considering buying my brother's and sister's share of my parents home.

Porsche GT3. Probably a late model "Touring". Nothing like a high rpm flat 6 Porsche.

68 Shelby GT350 convertible.... 4 speed, red with white stripes. Haven't seen another since 1970 when I was in college.

The bubble tops are very cool. My father in law still owns the 61 Bel Air bubble top 348 manual trans car that he bought new right off the train. I restored it for him a few years ago and he still enjoys it from time to time...

In my family, my mother was the "car" person. My dad drove whatever pile of crap he could buy cheap, usually an AMC or a Ford. In 1973, my mom needed a new car because my sister had totaled mom's 1969 Javelin 390 4-speed pulling out in front of someone. I was 14 and into cars big time. I convinced my mom and dad to look at a SD-455 TA, red with black interior, tilt wheel and power windows but NO AC. She test drove and loved it but my dad nixed the deal because of the no AC. She ended up with a 73 Mustang, loaded but never really liked it. She always commented about how sluggish and slow it was. As I remember the price difference was right around a grand between the two cars, which was significant in 1973. If not for the AC, I would likely own an SD-455 TA today!

I would love a 1973-1991 K5 Blazer, a 1977 Chevrolet Monza Mirage or Spyder, another Can Am to replace the one I had from 1983-1999 that rusted away. You get the idea, I would love to have a lot of cars.

Only two bucket list dream cars.

One would be the '68 GTO I currently have but completed. I love the paint color annd the parchment interior but would love the interior re-done iin parchment leather. Mechanically I would love a Moser 12 bolt or 9 inch, a 4L80E with a great controller, and the 428 totally rebuilt with all forged internals either as a 428 or 461 (just can't decide), Voodoo cam and valve train to match, aluminum heads (probable KRE), and intake/fuel system still undecided with a Tanks tank with internal pump (you all know the drill here).:3gears:

Other would be a 1951 Ford tudor with a 1950 front clip, original style interior with new gauges like original. A Fatman custom chassis, with original syle 15" wheels and dog dish hubcaps, 4L80 trans with Lokar shifter, and a built Pontiac 455 inch with tri-power. Don'thave it completely thought out as it's just a dream for now. For those who wonder, it would be a tribute car to Robet Mitchum's Ford in the Thunder Road movie. (Fimed in 1957 about 50 miles north of where I live.) Probably would skip the likker tank tho.

Not so much a bucket list car since I would never be able to afford one (they sell for a little over $1 million), but a dream car would be a reimagined E-type built by Eagle in Great Britain. I especially like their low drag coupe.

When I was a teenager I wanted/lusted after a C2 Corvette. When I was a very young man I wanted a '65 GTO convertible, even though I had my '67 hardtop that I still have. By the time I was 25 I was able to own that '65 convertible. I restored it, enjoyed it, and then sold it within a few years (1984). Without any doubt, it's the car that I miss the most.
Fast forward about 35 years and I now own that Corvette, a well optioned '67 convertible. I would trade it for that '65 in a minute.

'73 SD TA, Brewster Green with saddle interior, 4 speed.

Honestly, it's one I already own. Not because a '66 GTO was my dream car but just because it's been sitting and waiting now for nearly a decade and I wonder if I'll ever get around to doing anything with it.

I had a '57 Buick Special Rivera, Black & Gunmetal Gray (Blue) with blue interior and 26,000 original miles. When I got it the original BF Goodrich Silvertown wide whites were still on it. Man, I miss that car.
