Went to the track a couple weeks ago and my Catalina ran 6.59 at 108.95 foot braking.Original block and heads 400 stroked to 461 ,75mm turbo, small hyd roller,UCC convertor,Jake's stage 3 th400 kit,9in rearend with a 3.50 gear.Best of all,I can jump in it and drive anywhere.

I don't know how the hell to get these pics upright.

With that 60' time, if it would launch good, it would be a LOT faster.
:)

Good run and good looking 'land yacht'

:)

Thats running very good on the top end. I think that 6.59@108 will get you in the 10.30s in the 1/4.probably in the 135 mph range.

OCMDGTO 11-30-2020 09:05 AM

Wow now that's a sleeper!

firechickenman 11-30-2020 09:16 AM

Very nice! You will definitely be hurting some feelings with that car if you haven't already!

mysticmissle 11-30-2020 09:52 AM

awesome job, is that blow thru or efi?

leeklm 11-30-2020 10:28 AM

Yes, definitely a sleeper! Have you run the car across a scale?

CSU 750 carb and weights 4240

ponjohn 11-30-2020 07:19 PM

Have you tried a bigger carb?

Hauling.

oethel 11-30-2020 08:31 PM

I've got enough carb to split the block right down the middle already.

D STAGE 2 455 11-30-2020 09:19 PM

That's hauling the mail, How big are the rear wheels ? The car looks tubbed on that picture.
Definitely my kind of car!!!

firechicken 11-30-2020 09:59 PM

No tubs and a 12in wide 750 series Sander wheel with 275/60 radial pro rubber at 18psi.I put hi-tack on the beads to help keep from slipping. no beadlock and one of my tires moved on the rim about a inch.see the white mark?I believe that 6.59 run was 13-14lbs boost.I'm using a treadstone #1245 innercooler.

That first pic of the engine is a mirror image.still try too figure this damn picture problem i got.

flamedabone 12-01-2020 08:34 PM

All that car needs now is a flawless coat of shiny black paint.

Nice work, -Abone.

What heads you running steel or alluminum?

GT

charlie66 12-01-2020 09:49 PM

How did the wastegate work for you?

Great times so far!

oethel 12-01-2020 10:28 PM

Paint don't make it any faster, but your right,it needs a nice paint job....the 7K3 heads are original to this car and have stainless valves,10 degree locks, lash caps and Teflon seals.Butler street ported these heads in 98.I had Butler freshen them up and spec springs for the Butler hyd roller turbo cam.my built on this engine is in the boost section a couple years back......Charlie the turbosmart
Hypergate45 has worked flawless.I must have did something right....thanks

adam woodmancy 12-02-2020 03:44 PM

badass.. I have a 70 bonneville 2 door that dreams of being this cool!

Scott Roberts 12-02-2020 08:27 PM

Don't paint it.. take a hammer and knock some dents in it, put 2 different front wheels on it, ad the quietest mufflers u can find ( I've used 4 in the past) and go make some money.. only ever win by a fender...
Like my old friend Joe B used to say when asked how fast it was.. " just as fast as it needs to be"...

oethel 12-02-2020 08:34 PM

I like how you think 🤐

charlie66 12-02-2020 09:06 PM

Cool im glad it worked out for you . Do you have any intentions of turning up the boost?

oethel 12-02-2020 11:14 PM

Ultimate goal is a 5 second run.I want to do it on the lowest boost i can.I'm going to optimize several things and then if I have to add a few pounds boost I will. That 6.59 run was only the 10th hit at the track over a three or 4 week period.I changed jets, pvcr's,adjusted both of my brpv's,timing, closed my spark plug gap a little, changed wastegate springs and added Sunoco 110 at higher boost.I started at 7lbs and watched my plugs and AFR and worked my way up.If your on facebook Roscoe Woosley Sr has a video of the 6.59 run on Nov.7th
