Lost My Mother

My mom died a couple weeks ago and I'm still struggling to accept. She left a family that loved her and lived a good life. There isn't much in my life she didn't influence in a positive way. After my father died, she moved from Colorado to Amarillo to be near my sister and her family. They looked after her but maintained a stubborn independence until the end. I will miss her but she will live through her family and friends.

Please pray for my family as we grieve and remember her.

This forum reminds me of mom sewing a replacement headliner for my first car. It surprised me at the time and stuck with me as an indicator of unspoken and unconditional love and support for something she didn't understand but didn't question. Thank you, mom.

I went to one of my friend`s mom`s funeral yesterday. His dad died 10 days ago. I told him, when someone dies, it is their Christmas.

Sorry for your loss.

Prayers for your Mom, you and your family.

My sincere condolences. I lost my mom over 45 years ago when I was 21 years old. I don’t believe a day goes by that I don’t think of her. I always have this feeling she is watching over me.

Prayers sent.

Sorry Shiny. My mom passed 4 days ago at 90. We will get through this brother. I am 55 and it never gets easier with age. But we are blessed to have them as long as we did. I hope you are a believer because it really does help to know she is with my dad again and happy. I know it sounds strange but as much as I will miss my mom, there is a peaceful happy side to her passing. I doubt I will live as long as she did but we never know. Best wishes for you and your family.

My sincere condolences... I will remember you and your family in my prayers. This is always an especially difficult time of the year to lose a loved one.

Prayers for you and your family.

I can totally identify what you're going through, my mother passed just a little over a month ago. The people on this site were just great and sent many uplifting PMs, and posts of prayers. You can't beat an extended family like you have right here.

I will pray for you, and the family, that God may heal the gap in your lives, God bless.

Sorry for your loss. Losing my wife was the worst thing I've ever been through, but losing my Mom will be right behind it. She's 100, but she's not doing so well. We have 24 hour care for her in her house.

Shiny 01-01-2021 01:53 PM

Thanks again to all. I am grateful for the thoughtfulness to suppport someone you don't know. My 2 sisters and our families are spread out across the country and we are doing our best to work through it all remotely.

Mom's death is a sad ending to a bad year. I hope this year brings a return to the life we all had before CoVid.

I am also sorry for your loss and thoughts about losing your mom. You are both lucky she is able to receive and is willing to accept in-home care.

My mom lived in a Sr Center in her own apartment but truly needed help to live safely. She had access to assisted living and was able to afford it but chose to live alone. My sisters and I encouraged her to get help but she chose to accept her limitations and live on her own terms. She died from a fall which was the worry for all of us. We are grateful she did not suffer long and stayed sharp until the end.

Heart felt condolences to Shiny, and all of us who lost loved ones from our Pontiac family.

I lost my Pop this past July. He was a Veterinarian for 61 years. When he retired in 2017, he was the oldest practicing Vet in NJ at 85.
2020 was a lousy year all around,
Wishing all a happier and healthy new year for 2021 !

thepontiacman 01-01-2021 06:27 PM
