upper radiator hose pace car

Does any one know where to buy the upper radiator hose for a 1980 turbo pace car.

Looking for a hose that has the (somewhat) original markings

Looks cool when you pop the hood

As Always Thank You

Rock Auto lists a Gates and an AC Delco hose, do these look correct?
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...pper+hose,2058

78w72 04-07-2021 09:28 AM

none of the hoses at rock auto or other local auto parts stores have correct original markings.

burd 04-07-2021 09:43 AM

There’s a guy in Miami that does the correct markings, I just bought a set, they are sweet.
Even a GM replacement will not have the factory markings, I had a stencil made for the 400 hose, scanned off a GM hose, but it’s. It factory.

78w72 04-07-2021 10:11 AM

ok, & who is the guy in miami?

8453johng 04-07-2021 11:24 AM

Great

Love to know the info on the guy in Miami

Do you have a pic of the finished product

As Always Thanks

I do not have his contact info, a friend down there had them made and sent them
You gotta do some detective work sometimes on parts.

8453johng 04-08-2021 02:36 PM

Lets Begin

Lets begin the research of how to find the guy in Miami to get the correct hoses.

Thanks

78w72 04-08-2021 03:19 PM

or maybe burd could just ask his friend who the guy is...

burd 04-16-2021 01:17 PM

He’s on eBay, the guy is t cheap either. I’ll ask. Best factory markings I’ve ever seen.

8453johng 04-16-2021 01:37 PM

Thanks

I have looked on ebay can not find him

burd 04-16-2021 03:07 PM

His specialty is the Turd gen cars.

he probably wants a "finders fee"

77 Canamman 04-21-2021 07:13 AM

So we can post about stupid chit and about 40 year old filters, but can't seem to come up with the pertinent info requested here?

I'm sure there wasn't enough money involved to inconvenience him.

redonred81 04-24-2021 08:43 PM

Hoses

Sellers name on ebay is
Pacercarjeff

burd 04-25-2021 10:06 AM

When you take your sally Field Dress off, look on EBay.
Like I said. I dont have the info. Instead of posting batteries for a Sunbird, look for the hose.
I SAID the guys on eBay, maybe retire your flip phone.

I don't have any issue spending money. I won't spend money to benefit gougers and just generally nasty, low life a-holes in the hobby. There are a couple of such nOS parts retailers on this board I wouldn't walk across the street to piss on them if they were on fire.

Thanks for actually divulging this info.. Apparently it was too hard for an idiot from the motor city to bother himself to do-oh unless you bought some of his outrageously priced incorrect battery toppers or nOS parts...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

This is exactly why I dont waste my time telling people where to get nos or factory correct parts, if he wanted the correct hose, he would have found the guy on eBay already.
I own and operate a Fbody forum, everything I sell, the money goes rite back into the site to keep it up and running. As Ames can tell you, it isn’t free or cheap.
I did make 2 plastic stencils to put the GM numbers on a upper hose, it’s been all over the country many times to my friends. But the markings apprentice like the factory. See Jeff for those.

77 Canamman 04-25-2021 05:31 PM

I looked. I didn't find him. Since you are just soo God Damned helpful on this board with responses such as "look in your manual" and "look on your door decal"...

Bottom line is if you can't profit from anyone here, you don't bother. Greed is a bad thing..

Don't go away mad...just go the f**k away.

Hey camman, you take up the quality or price with Ames, pretty disrespectful to the forum you hang out on.
And I’m not going anywhere. Post up your sunbird freedom again, let’s see it.

If your going to have these cars, a set of manuals, you can look up your own info.

Number one, this isn't a Freedom topper. Number two, it NEVER came from a stupid Sunbird.. This is the correct battery "topper" since it IS the actual top of an original R89 from 1977. Depending on what options a Trans Am had, the Freedom or the conventional R89 is correct. Do your homework you self proclaimed expert!

As much as I like AMES and have been a faithful customer for over 30 years, they are not always right, nor do they always source their parts from the best in the business.
