Got the GrandPrix to the track, right off the street (drove 130miles round trip). Not bad for 4200lbs and 3.55 gears. There is a good .15 in just the crappy mufflers on it but with the roll bar rule not sure I'll pursue it. Thanks to Paul K for the great heads, carb and converter.

About 18gal, that's roughly 130miles at 70-73mph and 6 full throttle passes. Not too imo.

So that's where you were! I drove around the Cordova pits a few times looking for you guys. Great job on that car, love those old Gran Prix's. Just when I think I get my car running good, yours is quicker ( .20 tenths ), ha
Who is driving that beast?
What is the head ,cam, intake specs?

Although I was trying different shift rpm's, times did not change a lot. 5 runs between 11.85 - 11.91

7.53 was the 1/8 mile, hence my .20 comment to Brian. This RA 4 cam seems to not pull very hard the last 1/8 mile.

Had I known you guys use this forum I would have ventured over your way.

Do u have the 428 car? I think i lined up with u either friday or sat?

tc 09-30-2021 05:55 PM

Yes, 428,iron heads. Time slip Friday shows 11.99 for me and ( probably ) you a 9.53. I was not including that run in the 5 runs Saturday. For all I know we talked, I have a have a problem of not remembering things.

Brian ( slowbird ), what does your Dad think about his Gran Prix? Is he ready to tear up the streets of Altoona?
