Dealer Badges or stickers. Post yours if you have one.

I found this seller with a ton of them (Of course none of the ones I want) So I thought it would be cool to see what other ones were out there.

P.S. I'm not the seller nor do I know them.

I've been looking for a Pontiac Village on 860 Commonwealth Ave, Boston MA dealer emblem, decal, plate frame or anything else like that. So far nothing, but I contacted the seller to try my luck.

When I took the old license plate off of my 67 GTO I found this. When I restored the plate bracket I taped it off and was able to save it. The second one is from my 1950 Pontiac project car.

One of these was on my car when I bought it. I lost the original to the years, but fortunately found another one through this forum. I read somewhere that Monk King was a salesman there before starting his own dealership in Denton. I also have the Houston variant of the nameplate. I think his Ft. Worth outpost was relatively short lived (~64-71 or so) compared to his Houston presence.

I have an NOS leather key holder from the dealership as well that showed up on eBay one day. Have yet to find a license plate frame or anything else from them.

LOCAL DEALER BADGES

ROUGHTON was our Club's sponsor/supporter for many years.
I have one of their old badges with a magnet adhered to the backside.

I have this one from our family Pontiac dealership in Pulaski, WI 1949-1982. We had to drill holes to screw these into the trunk lid or rear panel. I have a magnetic strip on this one so I can put it on and take it off as necessary.

Would you know your dealer code and zone?

:)

No badges or stickers on this one; just license plate frames.

My Grand Prix didn't have anything on it, but I noticed this one day when the light was just right....very faintly, faded into the chrome (I highlighted it with Sharpy marker so that it would show up for photos and so that I could have a couple stickers reproduced):

Here is the reproduced bumper sticker, based off the ghost images on the bumper. I picked the colors just from my imagination of what they might have used:

I looked through all 1000+ badges hoping to find one from Pirwitz Buick/Pontiac Schofield WI with no luck. A few years back I saw an article about badge collecting that had a photo of an old collectors magazine. There, right on the cover, was the badge I've been looking for. I had no way to follow up on it. Still looking.

Bumper-placed stickers certainly are unusual in that period.

I looked through all of them last night myself. Still trying to find a Brown-Wood (Pontiac, Cadillac, GMC) emblem from Greenville, NC. Would be even better to find a license frame.

I've been looking for a Stephenson-Wilson emblem from Durham,NC for a while.

Here are a few NOS dealer badges that I got from Don before his passing at the young age of 60. They are the metal ones used in the late 60s to early 70s. Included are a few other items from my Gay Pontiac collection. Sorry for the inconvenience, I don't have any idea why they loaded vertical. BTW, my 71 T/A was sold new at Gay Pontiac.

these dealer badges are a neat niche in the hobby;

I got one for my car and plan on installing it.

This is an old stock mint badge that I got from a gentleman who was working at the time (as lot boy I think) that time my car was sold there new - he was still with the dealership, but now was the most senior salesman.

The picture was taken with my son (then three, now eight) holding it in the spot where it will eventually be installed.

I was at a Cars and Coffee event this summer that was held at the Motorplex car condo facility here in the Minneapolis area. One of the condo owners had a collection of dealer badges put up on their wall, there had to be a thousand or more of them. Unfortunately they were in no particular order so it was difficult to find one from any specific dealer.

I had zero idea that area of Comm Ave was Boston's original Auto-mile. That location is a tiny weird Target now.

Dealer badge I found in parts lot when I bought my '65 a couple years ago. It's plastic with what originally was sticky tape on back. I glued a magnetic strip on it, so I can take it on & off.

I think most big cities have had several places where the car dealerships congregated, than as time went on they moved. I know there have been at least four areas in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro where all the dealerships were, then they all moved to another location. There are still a few of the dealer buildings left in the oldest areas (like pre-1920), they're pretty ornate and some have the car names still showing in the decorative stone work on the front.

Yeah, apparently there was a bunch of cool dealerships on Comm Ave. It's a shame they're not around anymore.

I have all the original paperwork from Village Pontiac, including the purchase agreement, trade in information, the owners name and address etc etc.

I'd love to find some Village Pontiac dealer stuff. A keychain, plate frame, emblem or something.

Do a search on ebay for "village pontiac" and save the search. This way you'll get an email anytime an item is for sale that matches. It took 3 years but I finslly got a dealer emblem for mine.

Great Topic,

My 71 Catalina Freeway Enforcer does have a dealer emblem on the trunk, but I don't have a picture of it, I will try and remember to get a shot of it the next time I visit it in the shop.
But I also have the original dealers Key Chain hear are a couple of shots of it.

Along with the original dealer license plate frame from my 67 Firebird Sprint.
