Pre-order for Stencils & Stripes 1970-1972 Trans Am Decal Kits
 

Ok, as many know, Stencils & Stripes is out of stock of the 1970-1972 Trans Am decal kits. Last run was in 2019.

So I just got word for them to make another run, 12 pre-orders for either a white car or blue car set are needed.

I am in for a kit for a LUCY BLUE T/A -- so that is what this I am most concerned with here in this post, but please reply with what kit you would commit to buy.

NEW PRICE HOWEVER is $646.85 for the complete kit. As many know, this is the best made decal kit on the market.

Please let me know who wants to buy a set so Stencils & Stripes can put them back in production.

Let me know if for a white or blue T/A. Lets get to 12 pre-orders and have these back in production asap!

I'm in for a set for a white car.

I'm sure many are wondering so I'll ask... How are they justifying the $200 price increase? I bought a set the last run and they were only $425-$450 IIRC

That being said, if you only get to 11 kits and need one more to make it happen, I'll buy another set (White car) and just hold on to them

You can thank the current administration for the price increase!!! Anything that has an oil base in the manufacturing process has gone out of site.

So a white car kit should be less than the blue car kit.

Well you would think but Stencils & Stripes noted:

"PS: I also took the time to explore the kit for the white T/A. The retail price would be the same and the same amount of preorders would be needed."

S&S has had me on a list for a white car for quite a while now. Please add to it!

If anyone is buying a kit for a white car and doesn't need to hood stripe, I'd be interested.

If not, I'm in for a hood stripe or entire kit if I have too.

Do the S&S stripes differ a great deal vs the PG stripes? I've read past posts where there were issues but it seems from what I've read they have improved them over the last 12-13 years? I know only what I've read from the past.

Going to contact them tomorrow.. seems real close for WHITE cars --- but hardly anyone for the rarer lucy blue cars (and for me)

I wonder if Ames would be interested in this? Right now they show out of stock for white cars but looks like they possibly have some for blue cars. Maybe they wouldn't mind having a few kits in stock. The price is considerably higher but that's just the nature of things these days.

I had emailed Stencils & Stripes about the number of guys wanting white car kits (about enough to reach number desired to do a run) and he said he would check with the manufacturer and get back to me...... have yet to get an answer.

Ryan at Stencils & Stripes said he will be reaching out to those who have contacted them for the 1970 to 1972 T/A white car kit this coming week.

I would suggest everyone saying they want a set for a white Trans Am to contact Stencils & Stripes asap to get on the list.

And for those needing a blue car kit, please keep posting here as we need to get to about a dozen interested parties to convince them to do a run for blue Trans Ams. ** I only have myself and 'ol Pinion head so far wanting a blue T/A decal kit.

It appears from responses in this thread that there are enough for -white car- stripes to be made.

Everyone really needs to call in- we only have a couple that have actually talked to them so as of right now I can’t imagine this will happen. At this point I may get one to put back because chances are slim there will be enough interest years later as low as it is right now.

I put the last group buy together and it went smoothly. Obviously Ralph doesn’t want to fund this as a business. He is going to let the customers do it, that’s his right. It’s also his right to up the cost from 445 to 665. I think that may have something to do with the lack of commitment here. It’s easy to say yes till you have to pay for it.

Clearly S&S has the reputation of being the best for these stripes. What is the difference between them and PG?

When Greg developed the stripe that S&S now sells the PG stripe was incorrect in its design from its size to its lack of a clear boarder. This was an issue for many of us, when you’re paying top dollar you want a correct part. I have not measured any PG stripes but they have added the clear boarder. The PG stripe may very well be 100% correct at this time, I’m not buying a set to find out. PGs customer service at the time choose to ignore the issue

10/31/24 "At this point it is a slow process moving forward. We have two orders for the Lucerne blue model and 4 for the white car far short from the twelve we are looking for each. I have spoken to a few owners who are trying to get the word out as well. If things should change I will definitely reachout to you."

I’d still go for a kit for a white car although I already went a different direction on that car.

Is this run just for stripes for a white car, or are they doing a run for blue car stripes too?
