Daytona floor jacks 40% off at HF
 

Today only, Sat. 9/28/24 with coupon. Sounds like a good deal, but are they safe and worth it? I realize they’re chineseum. I searched the forum but didn’t find any reviews. Will ck YouTube for reviews.

The Daytona jacks are the same as what Snap On sells off of their trucks, the difference is the stickers, and the price.....LOL

If you watch any amount of You Tube videos or Motor Trend shows. there are many shops that use Daytona jacks.

Although I personally own an Arcan jack from Costco, I wouldn't be afraid to buy a Daytona jack. Many shops I've been in, such as tire stores use HF jacks, so they are durable. Probably the hardest use/abuse a floor jack would get is in a tire store.

I believe Daytona is built in Taiwan, which typically builds much better equipment and tools than many Chinese plants do.

Project Farm tested 10 floor jacks; Daytona came out near the top. The Pittsburg, also sold by HF, wasn't at the top because of sloppy welds.

The top 3 overall in PF test were Arcan, Snap On, Daytona.

I bought one about a year ago, & use it regularly. So far so good, no problems.

The long reach low pro model is awesome.

I have 4 Daytona jacks at my shop... no issues..

I used to buy jacks from Napa. The last 2 I bought didn't last.

Harbor Freight is not the same as 10-15 years ago. They have typically 3+ lines of most tool groups. In the hydraulic jacks/equipment. Central Machinery is the cheap crap. Pittsburgh branded is a step up. The Daytona branded stuff is the premium HF brand. They are well built, heavy, nice wheels and axles. Every bit as good as Snap-On. My Snap-On 3 ton aluminum jack had a hydraulic failure a couple months after it's 1 year warranty expired. Had to replace the entire hydraulic unit, no individual parts sold. Almost $300.00 for the hydraulic unit. Torin Industries in China makes the Snap-on jacks. Nothing special, that's for sure. I just couldn't bring myself to throw out a big aluminum 3 ton jack. No more Snap-on electric or hydraulic tools for me. Hand tools, sometimes yes.

Can you link to the coupon? Not seeing it here locally on the HF app but my 40-yr old floor jack is tired and the youtube review linked below was quite positive.

My local tire shop for as long as I can remember, maybe this am. They have been buying HF jacks. Their Snap on Jack's were leaking and expensive to repair. Like John said use it if it leaks get another. So I have old 1 Hein Warner 1 1/2 ton that is good. I've bought,1 low profile HF jack for TA,one aluminum for race car trailer and another in my smaller garage. I have smaller trolley jack I call it about 25 yrs old,paid less than 25 bucks. It's my all around used jack its light and works.

They are very nice jacks,have used mine daily for 9yrs. 0 Issues.
I think the new ones are on pair with any snapoff or mac sells.

Save the coupon with the bar code or just take a pic with your phone and show the cashier so she or he can scan it.

I bought the low profile 3 ton Daytona in blue. Approximately $114.00 free 5 gallon bucket. They had some kind of coupon on jack rack I just gave that to her. Didnt buy warranty.

Thanks for the feedback and posting the coupons. Life got in the way, and I was unable to cash in on the jack today:( I'll get 'er next time or bite the bullet and pay the long $.

A little late to the party, but I also have a Daytona jack. I have been more than happy with mine. I have a couple of small ones from TSC and would like to replace them with something Daytona. I just dont use them that much to run out and buy a couple.

We may not be too late. I just found the listing for HF’s ‘10 DAYS OF DEALS’. Day 10 is Wed., 10/2, and nothing is listed. IIRC, the final day MAY include all previous coupons. Keep an eye out and fingers crossed.

Yeah, I’ve been looking for a good used Walker or equivalent for 10 yrs. Most know what they have and will not part with it.

I bought two of these last week- a low profile one and a regular one. Both were 40% off. Very high quality from what I could tell

I thought I would like the lower weight of the aluminum but found it didn't lift as high so went with the steel.

I can't bring myself to toss my old one (80s vintage), as it has been my go-to for all these years... but the HF looks like a bulldog by comparison and I'm sure I will like it.

My son drove up to get help replacing shocks on his XTerra. This jack worked great! So far Mikey likes it.

Looks like a nice jack for a decent price... but what aluminum model were you comparing to on the height difference? The same weight rating pittsburgh alum jack lifts to 19 1/8" height & the steel one is only a 19 7/8.. not much difference but it does cost $70 more....
Edit- current sale price for the 3ton alum is $189, only $10 more than the steel one.

I have a current model steel craftsman 3 ton for heavy lifting but I actually like the 1.5 ton alum pittsburgh better for lifting one tire or one side of the car, much easier to move around or carry, only use the big one for lifting the front of a older heavy V8 car or truck/suv with an engine, smaller cars or the rear/side of my TA the 1.5 alum works great... I plan to get a 2.5 or 3 tone alum when the craftsman craps out.

Correct, just wanted to mention the member sale price... otherwise its $70 more for the 3 ton alum but it does go on sale sometimes during the year & dont need to be a member to use the 20% coupons they have in most the normal flyers. I dont shop there enough to pay for a yearly membership fee though.

That's cool. I'm in the same boat. Need a new jack. Just not really badly. I wish I coulda hit that 40% off deal. I'll keep an eye out for another great sale. My last jack was steel. Just can't do that anymore.

Depending on the size you want/need... i got a like new but used 1.5 ton alum jack for $40 bucks locally, I see them & a bunch of other jacks for sale on FB marketplace & craigslist all the time.

If you know how to safely jack up a car you dont need life insurance for it... regardless of the brand of jack... :rolleyes:

I have a decades old Craftsman AL floor jack. It has been very good. It's getting a little tired. It struggles to jack up my truck. Probably could score a great deal on local market sites.

I always do overkill support of things I crawl under as SOP. Usually involves short pieces of 6x6 cut decades ago for the purpose. Ends are cut at an angle for wheel chocks also. Also quality jack stands are a must.

I have a couple of the 3 ton steel jacks. They kick ass, and have lifted everything I've ever used them on, including Humvees and 1 ton trucks with plows on them. They're definitely built well.

They're heavy, that's their only downside. But they usually just get pulled around the shop. Nobody is picking them up and walking around.

The weight is the kicker for me. I frequently put mine in the back of my truck. I think my last steel jack weighed 90#.

I throw one in my truck if I'm traveling with the car trailer. Not super easy to get in the bed, but it's doable.

Harbour Freight introduced at SEMA the little brother to the Badland 3 ton off-road jack. It's a 1-1/2 ton model due out early 2025. Waiting to see specs and price.

I thought the same thing but I saved more than the membership on my first purchase and I did two years renewal last time for less money. It’s worth it. Plus there’s always those free buckets!

I bought a low profile long reach a while ago and it’s a great jack if you only use it on a smooth concrete floor. It’s so low, it won’t go over anything. It bottoms out just taking it out of my garage. Thinking of putting a lift kit on it!

Might have to join and get the jack. Probably would pay out.

Lift kit LOL! These new cars need the low profile. That is if you can see/find a place to put the jack.

I stopped by 1 of the 2 local Costco stores today. The Arcan XLS 3-ton jack was on sale, $140 down to $100, so I pulled the trigger. At least it's not chinesium, made in Viet Nam (I almost had an all expenses paid vacay in '72, my thanks to those who made the trip!). Interestingly enough, the other local Costco still had it at original price. I'll keep it wrapped up until the new Badlands 1 1/2T debuts in '26.

My 2 ton Arcan AL jack has been going downhill lately and finally bit the dust. Went to HF today and got one of the 2 Ton Daytona’s, AL and low profile. I like it, and its footprint is a bit smaller than the Arcan so easier to move around. Seems like a quality piece.

I guess HF finally caught me in the buying mood. Saw coupon below. DAYTONA 3 Ton Long-Reach Low-Profile Professional Floor Jack with RAPID PUMP for $189.99. Normally $239.99. Pretty nice piece! The height and profile are amazing. Like the high vis orange too. The low profile, and long reach, will serve well with newer cars.

I have that same craftsman Jack love that thing especially when your picking it up.

I love mine too. The handles are very nice. It light too. It struggles picking up the front of my truck. I should take it apart and CIL it.

I stopped in and took a look at those as the spring that hold the handle up on my 30 year old Craftsman has broken. I liked the range of lift but, the thing is 104 pounds! Too much for an old stick man like me. I guess I'll just go on tripping over the handle and cussing the broken spring for a couple more years.

I was originally gonna buy another AL jack. But figured I can use the old one if I need light weight. I like the low profile and high lift of the steel one.
