Sorry if this is redundant I am horrible at these forums .. my 66 tri power 4 speed convertible is heading to Mecum Saturday never ever offered for sale one owner since new! .. paint, interior , drive train , spare, top , shift knob, spare tire , etc etc all original , replaced are brake lines , exhaust ,
Power top motor, fuel tank , alt , starter replaced . Original radiator will be included . Thank you 🙏 |

My family member is and he’s alive and well still In south Fla! Car was purchased by him in Georgia
He move to Pennsylvania with the service for a few years and then to Fla in the late 70s been here ever since! |

It is .. honestly, the car is super cool but south Florida no AC no power steering. I drove the car today and I thought I was gonna die.!!! Not to mention, it’s a size of a school bus!! He’s in his 80s now and could use the money! But it really is a super cool time capsule I stopped and showed a local collector. He was super impressed. Took lots of photos…

Be very careful!I have seen them end auctions early for a shill bidder,also seen them build up the price with the same.You can also see phantom bids.Hope you have a reserve.Tom

Almost seems like they are intentionally down-playing the car on their listing .
64-67 GTOs have not been doing too great the past couple years at Mecum events. Quality of the cars may be mostly to blame. The headline should read Ultimate Survivor - 1 owner Factory WS TriPower car , all numbers matching , original paint interior & top. Instead it says 389 CI - V8 , 4 speed Probably planned to go RNM with Dana making an offer after it rolls off the stage. who knows |

I hate the hood tach , but it's stuck with that. I'm thinking 75-80k to a well heeled collector. Possibly more if 2 or 3 or 4 guys really need it. But these auctions have become completely unpredictable. I would try BaT before letting it go for less. |

I hyped that Montreux Blue 67 just a little.
It was a carbon copy of the I Dream of Jeannie / Major Nelson 67 GTO Vert. Plus it was an HO , and a very nice car. Just the wrong wheels on it There hasn't been a TriPower GTO Convertible Survivor in the same category of Tedds car on BaT since I have been following the site the last few years. There was a Red 67 GTO Hardtop Automatic 335hp Survivor in same category on there about 2 years ago. It went for a pretty good price in the 40s or low 50s |

Hey Barron … wanted to give you some feed back from today. Friday seems to be quieter than normal ,
It’s extremely hot ! I’ve learned a few things about Mecum …. Number one… YOU CANT use the word survivor in any of your descriptions and they will NOT Use the word either .. apparently there’s a patten or copy write on the term.. you also can’t say never been offered for sale because they can’t prove that! It is very well run and the people are friendly. My car is under a tent. There experts looked at the car and came up with the reserve which actually was more than I thought it would be . They also did a few minute clip on the car . Car should run around 3pm and to keep this in one response the the gentleman commenting on my stupid wiper blades and antenna!! I never represented this as a show car ! Sorry you’re upset but how’s your 60 yr old paint job interior and drivetrain looking ?? Thank you again Barron for your advice through the process ! Posting a couple of Mecum location pics.. |
Good luck, hope you get a great number on that fine car. If you edit your pics and slightly crop them they won't show upside down.

It's really a 6 figure + GTO to one of the right collectors of early GTOs.
No idea how it will do today . At least 80k if anyone is serious about it , even a dealer/flipper. Volo or one of those type dealers would probably glamorously list it for 149k Best wishes and hope there is a good fight for it. |

Barron your right!!! Iam falling asleep! And I can tell you there’s a ton of lookers and all the car people are complaining that’s there’s no money .
I don’t even want to tell you what someone offered off the block:((( some Mecum vip clients Buyers) called my family member a spoke to him for like 25 minutes about the car . Not sure if they are serious buyers. As much as we want the car sold we’re not gonna give it away… Barron what do think Rock rock bottom should be ?? |

I'd do a rock bottom of 90-95 for a private sale . maybe .
100 minimum to a dealer There are plenty of restored 66s out there Not many unrestored 66s worthy of a museum |
It looked wonky on the block.
Like it had no engine up front and sandbags in the rear. Very sparse bidders in audience. Next guy will make bank on the car... think it said reserve off at 65 and hammered at 68k. Doesn't matter as long as your uncle is satisfied. Salute to him for keeping it the way he did for so long. Would have pulled minimum of 80 on BaT |

Someone got a good deal.
Not sure who recommended keeping the top UP but that was sad to see for the seller. Thought they might've sucked him in on lifting the reserve but it went like $7k higher so that wasn't that bad. |
They lifted at 65 , then it hammered at 68
74,800 was after the 10% juice. I think sellers cough up 5% of hammer , but sometimes they will waive that if they agree to lower or remove the reserve. Tons of RNM cars at this event. The only Pontiac that did well was a 65 Catalina - 2+2 clone - 421 HO 4spd. |

Guys , 3 things, they wouldn’t let me put the top down because it was raining, second remember those rear springs were 60 yrs old!!! They were tired not to mention 5 grown men pushing down on the car getting it up to the lane didn’t help .. the springs didn’t respond as they should have and I wanted to keep it as original as possible … Now after I get our check in hand I found out who purchased the car !! I think everyone will be surprised ..
