70 OO in Michigan here
 

HI All,

wanted to introduce myself and my new to be 70 Judge! I just purchased this car at Mecum in Kissimmee a few weeks back. She was built in Pontiac and sold new in Holland according to the PHS docs. I know she's not concourse but i am looking to enjoy it and drive her all summer. This car came out of a museum where she has slept since 2007. Looks like I may have some fun ahead, first things first with changing fluids.

Always open to suggestions on what products to use as well. I'm not new to old Pontiacs (always had trans ams) but this is my first GTO.

Anywho hope to connect with some other folks from SE Michigan as well.

Gorgeous car! welcome from Milford MI maybe you can meet up at the Pontiac Dustoff this summer. It's at the Golling dealership in oxford June 13th this year. quite a few MI members meet here each year.

It came out of the Day Family Classic Car Museum in Corona, CA. funny enough there was a photo of it in their google reviews :-)

that sounds great, ill have to keep an eye out! most of my weekends are spent at the lake since the summer is so short so I am looking to do more weeknight cruise ins and such if its between memorial and Labor days :-)

Welcome from NW Ohio. That's a very nice ride that followed you home from Kissimmee! I was at Mecum Kissimmee on Thursday and a red '70 RA IV Judge vert (1 of 6) went across the block but didn't make reserve!

Never seen an export invoice that indicated it's destination.

John has 2 dealers named Holland listed.
Both in Burlington Ontario Canada

PHS invoice wouldn't name an export dealer.
GM of Canada documents would / could name a Canadian dealer .

Not much info given or any documents shown.

12bolt axle might be a clerical error.
Red lugnuts and body color hood scoops were small mis-cues.
Think I like body color scoops better anyway.
Red center caps are likely correct going by the EUN range.

Yes thats it from Mecum. was sold new at Elhart Pontiac in Holland MI. PHS doc attached. i was given a binder with the documentation

Cowl Tag paid code 06 06. I have to have some paint work down as the bumper, hood and fender were damaged in transit so will be putting the scoops correct to black! is there a paint code for that? also what is off with the red lugs? i thought those came in 70? sorry just learning all the nuances here

06 paint code for orbit orange was originally code 60.
I posted the factory document here in tech forums that shows the change.

Red lugs were 67.

Black centered rally II lug nuts

Your car was completed on , or about Jan 21 , the Invoice date.

Likely the original 10bolt rear intact. Can't make out the casting number on passenger side.
12bolt was a listing error.

Somewhere around mid December'ish , the Center Caps changed from Black to Red.
Yours are correct in Red.

Some promo pics show 1967 Rally 2 wheels with Red lugnuts , but it's controversial if any were ever used on a production car . Most say no . But they have been made available for decades.
Black Lugnuts are correct .

Any good catalyzed matte / semi-gloss finish black would be good on the scoops.
Spray can paint likely gets used on a lot of them by convenience.

Initially I thought you were implying the car was exported out of the US - to Holland .

The EUN 056xxxx stamped above WS on the front of your block led me to think your car was built much later in the year.

That EUN reflects to a casting date in late April 1970 timeframe.
You might want to see what the actual casting dates are on the block , heads and intake.
Carburetor and Distributor part numbers are particular to Ram Air equipped cars also.

And look for the partial VIN on the block.
(down lower on passenger side by timing cover)

from what i could see it must be a replacement block as the vin does not match / maybe you can provide some insight from the photo here. i do have a leaky waterpump as well that i need to address first warm day we get

That would be a 69 ( 9 ) year model WS with 2bolt main caps.
Originally installed in a car built in Framingham Mass ( G )

The casting date for the block is located near the bolt that tightens the distributor clamp.
Topside - at the very back - where block and bellhousing meet.

On the passenger side - rearward - above oil filter adapter area - there will be larger raised numerals.
Along where block and bellhousing meet.
Seven digits beginning with 9

56xxxxx EUN in 1969 should land around later Frebruary
