Let Us Know You Are Coming To The Nats!
WHO IS COMING TO THE NATIONALS????
Post the city & state you are coming from, as well as a space number if you have one! I will be there Friday & Sunday with the '64 G.P. as unfortunately Saturday is not only our class reunion, but our Wedding Anniversary. I am blessed that Laura would have been fine with being there on our anniversary had it not been our reunion as well;) God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...closed.614419/ |
Congrats on the dual anniversaries!

So close ( 4.5 hours) yet probably not going. No old Pontiac car, and the 421 build is 2nd priority. I keep saying one of these years...
|

|

Lets see if we can actually meet in person this time! I will be there early Friday & will have my '64 G.P. in the show parking area. This goes for everybody else I have not yet met in person! Also looking forward to see friends from all over the country that I only see a couple times per year. God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...closed.614419/ |
We'll be there on the pit side.

on bucketlist...need a/c and o/d
one of these days haveagoodone 🍻 |
Will be there with Trishieldchief and Pontiyak
From Various locations in Ontario Canada |
I will be there Friday and Saturday. My original plan was to make this the maiden voyage for my 73 SD-455 TA. But advanced weather forecasts don't look good for either day. High winds, heavy downpours, thunderstorms and hail possible both days. So taking the car will be a last minute decision.

From weather forecast looks like some rain I hope and pray not. I remember Sunday many years ago talking to Steve Ames, rainy hardly any cars on show side about the show.
|
Are you talking about the Syracuse NY Nationals this weekend?
|
I believe everyone is discussing the Ames Pontiac Nationals at Summit Raceway in Norwalk Ohio.
|
Will be 18 yrs. straight. Will bring the 61 wagon-old Harley golf cart and Teddy the big brown and white Newfoundland.

My buddy Don and I blasted over at warp speed from NH yesterday.
Air quality started sucking ass and the fog/smoke over the highway from about NY was like a scene from Steven Kings "The Fog". Get to the Norwalk Econolodge and the rude ass front desk clerk denied our 4 day reservation made with Expedia. It was a dirty hole anyway so we wound up booking into Bellevue 15 miles away. I was concerned we wouldn't be able to find anything last minute but the Bellevue is nice and clean so we're good now. Some other guy came in behind us in Norwalk Econolodge and the desk clerk gave him the same denial. I was like WTF is up with that place. Don talked to him while I was making a call to Expedia and he told me that his name was Kent and they were coming to the Nats all the way from Sweden! I realized that when Don told me about his conversation as we were heading to Bellevue that he had actually been talking to Kenth from this forum! |
The wife and I left San Diego last Saturday following Route 66. Currently in Columbus, expecting to arrive before noon Friday, camping out in our Chevy van on Wilson's Row. Driving down there Blue Ridge Parkway after the show and visiting family in Tennessee

Rolled in yesterday at about 9:00AM & stayed well past 5:00PM
I am blessed to be only about 13 miles from the track, so I didn't even have to get up early!:p I got to see a bunch of friends from all over the country I only get to see once or twice a year. It was a great day, weather was nice & the smoke was barely noticeable. I won't be there today as I promised the Wife we would be at the "All Class" high school reunion today since we missed it the last two years, because it was scheduled on a weekend that we are at a Lloydfest Car show in Kentucky. I hope to be back Sunday morning, but hope the weather holds out for you guys & gals as today is the "Big Day". A bit bummed that I won't get the G.P. judged, but I didn't build it for trophies so no biggie. God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...closed.614419/ |
Another event done. Got to meet Bill. A few new men names escape me now. We had fun. Nothing I needed to buy. Watching racing. Todd did well got Best Engineered Car for his 63 Lemans. Sunday we got suite passes. Watching racing eating ice cream. After about 4pm. Bobbie Badder comes in , out of breath. The elevator is BROKE! She wants us to go down. She is saying the elevator can go down, once no problem! Some us decided to walk down the steps in the stands!

Great To Finally Meet You Bob! Time sure does fly, I'll bet we sat there for more than 2 hours "shooting the bull":D. After we split I watched about 15 minutes of racing, when I got back to my car there was a flyer on my seat with a note asking me to call about putting the G.P. in the Dayton Concours d'Elegance Sept. 20th. I will call him today, Laura got all excited about it. LOL I had a great time both Friday & Sunday, even though most folks left late Saturday or early Sunday. God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...closed.614419/ |
That's great Bill good for you. Your car is very nice well thought out. When we were talking seemed time went by, I didnt notice. Great finally seeing a face to a name. Your business is amazing the energy and care. Take care. God Bless.

Nice to hear some of the details. I live in Sandusky, & drive for R&L Carriers across the street. I seen quite a few nice Ponchos Friday morning & Friday evening while I was walking across the dock. It made me want to go Saturday, but I needed to use that time to get the Firebird up & runnin, so we can make the Trans Am Nats next month. Hopefully we'll get to Norwalk next year. 🤞
